Rupert you're not seriously that deluded are you? You're saying we were heading to mid table scrutiny before Rafa came in? What about the fact that RDM has a better record with us this season despite facing a harder run in? What about the fact that we were 4 points off top with RDM, and now we're a mighty 16 points off even though we had a quite easy run in under Rafa? Not only this - you also then go on to say that Torres' performance against Wigan was "first class" - it wasn't at all. It was just an average outing for Torres who apart from his assist, lost the ball tons of times and broke up quite a few of our attacking moves. You seriously need to start looking at the situation in a realistic sense.

I've said this from day one, I'd rather have some who can link play up well, like a Cavani or Lewandowski. Falcao is an immense goal scorer, probably best on the planet but IMO we need a no. 9 which is more rounded.

Or we could still start him in big games. He's clearly good enough to perform in those. Giggs and Scholes don't play every game at United but they do start big games because of their experience and obvious class etc. Lampard can clearly do the same for us.

I don't think many who wanted Lampard to stay necessarily wanted him to stay and be a starter week in week out. If I'm not incorrect, most want Lampard to stay because he's obviously an inspirational character, and is definitely good enough still to be involved with first team action here as he's been proving the last couple of weeks. I don't think anyone wants us to hand Frank a £150k a week contract which obviously states he's a key player - Frank knows himself that he won't start 50+ games a season anymore. Frank's still good enough for around 30 games a season IMO, and would be a brilliant replacement if lets say one of our new starting midfielders (if we got one) were to be injured. He can still be a very important squad player for us for a season or two, easily.

Yeah, it's pretty sad to see United running away with the league like this. The teams around United (us, City, Spurs, Arsenal etc.) have not been good enough this year in general, always dropping points against unnecessary opponents. Ah well, there's always next season. Hopefully we get our act together. Who knows, we might finish 2nd if City continue to falter and we pick up some decent form?
