  1. We're not playing a world class team here, don't think it would be wrong to experiment and give some individuals chances providing we have a solid base behind them. We don't definitely need exceptional experience against Derby, I would trust the quality of the players (RLC and Boga) and the general experience of the senior attacking players (Hazard and Remy, even if they haven't played too many times together - how else will they build that chemistry?) to see us through against Derby. Like I said, it won't happen, but it would be great IMO to give the likes of Boga, RLC and Ake some first team action.
  2. This is bollocks sorry. Have you not noticed that we've played our best football when Costa has been in top form? Do you think that's a coincidence or not? Again, I'm struggling to understand this point of your argument specifically. Yeah, we all know Costa isn't a pure technical striker like Aguero or Suarez but you don't need to be that to be able to break the deadlock which Costa has done consistently for us this year, just go through all of his goals this year and the times they were scored at and you'll see that they were scored at crucial moments this season. Again, you don't need to be Aguero or Suarez to be able to break the dead lock for your team when they're struggling. Unless you've completely missed/blanked out Costa's early season form and his past seasons (sorry, if you're comparing a player's overall body of work you can't ignore his season last year at Atletico), your argument really doesn't have a strong basis IMO, because you weren't saying this before his goal drought.
  3. Disagree. He's already done it for us (scored goals when we really needed one) and he's done it countless of times for Atletico last season too, hence why they finished as champions. Each to their own though I guess.
  4. And also to follow up on Barbara's post - we all know Costa isn't Messi like technically but that doesn't mean his technique is bad. As I've said before, his style is very unorthodox. Yeah, he can have a bad few moments when it comes to linking up play but he can also be excellent at it. The game yesterday is the perfect example. His hold up play was trash in the first half but he really turned it around in the second and made some great lay offs and passes. His technique is quite reliant on how confident he feels. He's a clever footballer.
  5. Dribbling past defenders isn't the only way a striker can make a difference... And no, Costa doesn't need the perfect pass to score either. Costa has already scored plenty of times when the team has needed someone to grab a goal, I really don't know what you're trying to get at.
  6. Costa's performance in the Everton game. Dieeegooooo
  7. Not going to happen but this would be great: Cech Azpi - Zouma - Terry - Luis (if fit) Matic - Ake RLC Boga - Remy - Hazard
  8. Don't know why people are that surprised, always said last season that the system fully suited Cahill hence why he shone, but now we're a bit more adventurous - don't be too surprised to see him struggling as he doesn't have that maximum protection anymore. I still maintain he shouldn't be a starter for us, rather a very solid 3rd choice CB but unfortunately due to the dearth of CB talent out there at the moment, it's difficult to find a worthy replacement.
  9. If you were watching his performances earlier in the season you would completely know that you're being false. Everton game is the perfect example. If it wasn't for Diego we wouldn't have won that game, simple. He was excellent. Diego in top form is a difference maker, easily. You're just mentioning this because he's been off it for the last few games.
  10. Or we could possibly try and mould Baker into a Fabregas back up...
  11. Hope he gets a chance against Derby. Doubt it very much though.
  12. Delighted Eden stepped up and took over the main creative mantle from Cesc but giving my MOTM to Costa for a very good second half and breaking his barren spell.
  13. Lucky to win? What game were you watching? Of course we weren't at our best but that my friend is utter bullshit. We deserved to win. Hull didn't create anything threatening.
  14. HD stream if anyone needs it - http://rogerslive-i.akamaihd.net/hls/live/202800/event/index.m3u8
  15. Both. Fabregas isn't a defensive beast like Oscar or Willian so of course that's impossible. However when it comes to being a pure number 10 he's much better than both.
  16. When you think about it, we don't have any real counter attacking threats going forward (unless when Schurrle is on), hence why I think Reus is a must buy because he'd add so much versatility to our game.
  17. Even then, I don't think we can compare Oscar's and Willian's roles at number 10 to Fabregas'. Against Sporting, Fab played a lot more like a true number 10 since he effectively had two shields in Matic and Mikel behind him. He wasn't given the same duties as Willian or Oscar would usually have at #10.
  18. Not when we're going forward. Fabregas controlled the game at the number 10 last game. I do agree he's better for us deeper but that doesn't mean he won't perform well in a more advanced position.
  19. We could possibly sell him and attach a buy back clause...
  20. He is still better on the right for me.
  21. Solanke is a quality talent no question, doesn't have any weakness to his game whatsoever. If he develops well we'll have a very special player in the ranks.
