So this is pretty much a done deal then? If he wanted to move in the summer vs January? Or he is smart enough to wait and see if we finish Top4 ?
-
If we use the funds to bring in Pepe and Isco, things won't look so gloomy. Maybe even add a striker on top of it.
-
Maybe to actual Londoners that live in the area. I couldn't give a fuck who wins the league if it guarantees us top 4. I can't stress how important it is for us to finish top 4, especially this season with all the rumors lurking about a transfer ban.
-
The notion of throwing away points for the sake of Liverpool not winning the league. How does Liverpool winning the league affect you more so than us not being in the top 4 for a straight consecutive season?
-
Honestly can't believe what I'm reading.

And then the gap was 3

Remember when Liverpool fans thought Keita would be a better version of Kante?
-
How at all could you be conflicted?
-
Both of them should be realistic targets, especially Aaron Bissa. We've had a good relationship with Palace the past few seasons.
-
If Sarabia and Pepe have end product, we will improve 10 fold even in the 4-3-3 Kovacic/Barkley +Willian/Pedro give us nothing.
-
He can play LCM if needed?
-
I'd rather Pepe
-
Are we even linked?

They played us off the park because Conte was a coward. In fact, that was the most cowardly display I have ever seen from a team, let alone Chelsea. We came to the game expecting a defeat, it was a matter of how many goals not to concede. We were the champions of fucking England and having that mindset was inexcusable. We do exactly what we did the first game. Stay organised and block the channels. Play out from the back and hit the space they will inevitably leave. They have a midweek game before our game on Sunday. Not matching their intensity, will be unforgivable at this point. I can take losing, but losing when the players don't give 100% I cannot.
-
So then why get all defensive when I disagreed that he isn't top class? The only issue I have with Sarri is his game management. Other than that, we need to be patient with him. Given what the club did to sign him, I can only assume they understand they cannot operate the way we have these past years. The market inflation won't allow us to do so. Stability will save this club. Now more than ever.

Liverpool. Spurs away (in the cup). Arsenal (at home) and even against City at home. We thrived given the space they gave us. Our attack failed to put away chances. Especially with City playing midweek, we should definitely play to our strengths on this one. Not matching City's intensity come Sunday, will be unforgivable in the highest measure.
-
Having a two man midfield vs a City team that will have three midfielders + wing backs playing centrally, is also a bad idea. Unlike Bournemouth, City will have space to actually exploit. It's whether or not our players will be up to exploit it.

A member I won't mention stated Kepa is top class. Another member I won't mention also said Kepa is a great keeper. I disagreed with them because I have yet to see anything from Kepa to justify that. Too early for that. Neat distribution isn't enough for me. He hasn't made any saves that have secured us points. Which is what a top keeper does. I then brought up De Gea as he has justified himself by being so highly valued, given he has secured his team points time and time again. There was then a massive defence for Kepa stating that he should be compared to De Gea on his first season as well. So again, how does this not strengthen my argument? De Gea wasn't a top class keeper then. Just like Kepa isn't now. I find the whole thing ironic given your constant rants regarding Sarri. You need to be consistent with your arguments, especially the 'it's his first season' one. I can see what Sarri is trying to do and I can also see we have a lack of quality to execute it properly. Even Napoli fans are stating we don't have enough technical players. We've come too far to bring Sarri in to just merely sack him and start all over. In a time where the market is SO inflated, a transfer ban looming, and our loan policy to be restricted; We need Stability more than anything.
-
In terms of potential, he is up there among the best. As of now, there are literally a handful of keepers better.
-
So we are going to sacrifice our possession game, for a counter attacking game when Hazard is yet again the only creative outlet?
-
I do remember how poor De Gea was when he first came, hence why I didn't rate him top class at the time. Much like I am doing with Kepa because I am actually taking off my blue tinted glasses and analyse him as a goalkeeper. I'm not sure why you are bringing this comparison up when all it does is strengthen my argument. Mind you, i'm not implying Kepa won't ever get better, I am rating him as he is now, and he isn't a top class keeper. Again, I've already stated I have no problem with Kepa in this team. I understand it's his first season and he is doing what he can. I will always be open minded in that regard. However, It's a proper piss take when people who are so ready to pull the trigger on Sarri, defend Kepa with the main argument being 'it's his first season'. Mental how Sarri can't get that same convenience when it's his first season, still doesn't have his players, and is trying to change the entire playing culture at the club.
-
Agreed. Which is why Kovacic is a must Sunday. A week to prepare. Showing up not matching City's intensity will be unforgivable.
-
Typical City goal. So hard to defend with the movement. 5 more please City
-
But it isn't just Leicester. It's Spurs away. Arsenal away. Liverpool at home. Season after season he's given United points. That is my point as that is what a top class keeper does. I've been on this forum for a week and believe me the words 'great keeper' and 'top class' has been thrown around for Kepa, which in my opinion is unjustified. That is why I brought up DeGea. He's a young decent keeper who fits the system. Also mad how you are so forgiving on Kepa given it is his first season yet have pitchforks for Sarri.
-
I never said he was a worry. Much like Jorginho and Kante in an advanced position He's a decent keeper who fits this system given his distribution. Kepa hasn't made any saves that really secured us points. Not once. How can a keeper be labeled 'great' or 'top class' when he has yet to do anything to justify it? A true top keeper would of saved that Sturridge strike and one of Martial's.
