I suppose my comment came across probably too shoddy. After seeing Immobile flop outside of Italy and Belotti + Cutrone fall from grace after a fantastic season, not to mention Higuain looking out of his depth in England, just makes me feel signing Strikers in Serie A a massive gamble.

That's a bit harsh. If you analyse it, it's always ONE individual mistake that leads to the team completely switching off. It's as if conceding a goal completely drains the player's moral and give up.

I also wish he had the knowledge of our fans. By the sound of it, Sarri is an imbecile to not know that starting a ST would of all of a sudden turn our vulnerable defence and midfield into the Chelsea of old.

We are genuinely at a time where we won't be competing for the title for a while. The sooner people grasp that, the better. It has been an accumulation of poor transfers and club decisions that's been going on since Gourlay left. We are Liverpool of 2012. What makes it even more frustrating, is that we are the ones that pay the price. Not the board as their job security is unbreakable. Half of our starting XI aren't good enough. Bench is terrible. Transfer ban looming. Hazard destined to leave. Roman can't enter the country. With our without Sarri, we need to take the bull by the horns and ride this through. It will take some while. Least this will get rid the plastics.

Our defence is weak, and our midfield doesn't offer them protection with the space they leave. They get massively exposed against teams that have the attacking threat of City and Liverpool. The false 9 allows Willian and Hazard to congest some of the midfield. It's worked twice against City. It's a bit naive to think we could of given Liverpool a game had we started a ST and not expect our defence to be weak and our midfield to leave gaps. Come on.

Spot on. A false 9 beat City and took them to penalties. We tried to play attacking against City, and were bashed 6-0. Liverpool, much like City, provide the same pressure and attacking threat. Based on prior matches and analysis, this was the best possible approach. Hazard puts those chances away, we could of came out with a draw. I'm actually enjoying reading comments of these so called 'know it all's' that are laughably using hindsight to their advantage and claim we should of started with a striker. Pretending we wouldn't leave so many gaps in midfield and defence just as we did against City that beat us 6-0. Truth is, we lost to a better team. A team that is a level above. Emerson more than anyone, let us down. Which yet again shows the players are the biggest issue.
