  5. so hard to pull players off of teams surging in tables Serie A is less problematic
  6. Striker for sure, but dont think it will happen (at least not a good one) this window Hope I am wrong so much is in the wind very fluid impossible to accurately predict
  7. Cahill and Cesc are gone for sure. Puzzling to not see Drinkwater at least on the bench. Perhaps this augurs his exit as well! (so not cup-tied) One can but dream!
  8. Sarri gives up on Higuain as Chelsea fear transfer ban https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/sarri-gives-up-on-higuain-as-chelsea-fear-transfer-ban-53353 An unlucky situation for Maurizio Sarri. In the summer of 2018, he moved from Napoli to Chelsea. One of the main reasons for his transfer was his bad relationship with De Laurentiis and the impossibility for discussing the transfer strategies with his club. With Abramovich, however, the scenario has not changed since Sarri’s opinion won’t be listened during the winter transfer window. After the Blues’ 0-0 draw against Southampton last night, the Italian tactician said: "There is Morata and we won’t sign a new striker, even if we have a problem with goals. The club knows my opinion, but the market does not depend on me. For example, until yesterday I knew nothing about Pulisic. The directors had asked me about him a month ago and I had expressed a positive opinion, then today I learned of his arrival". FIFA FEAR - 64 million euros have been invested to sign Pulisic who will remain on loan to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. Therefore, Chelsea have anticipated all the competitors for the young American talent, but they could also face possible sanctions by FIFA, which could block or limit the next summer market for irregularities in the transfer of foreign underage footballers. THE POST HAZARD - In addition to that, with Pulisic, Chelsea prepared to Hazard’s possible exit next summer. The Belgian winger has not yet accepted the offer to renew the contract expiring in June 2020 and Real Madrid could be a possible solution for his future given that the Merengues are still looking for Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement. snip

  10. We need young players, says Bayern coach Kovac https://www.afp.com/en/news/3955/we-need-young-players-says-bayern-coach-kovac-doc-1bz6i74 Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac admitted Saturday his team needed "young players", amid speculation the German champions have launched a 33-million-euro bid for Chelsea teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi. Kovac, speaking at Bayern's annual winter training camp in Qatar, refused to confirm or deny the club's interest in the 18-year-old English star but conceded changes were needed. "We always need young players," said Kovac. "It is my job and the job of (Bayern Munich sporting director) Hasan Salihamidzic to change the team as the team does not get any younger." He added: "If a player is good it doesn't matter how old he is. "We are looking for younger talented players but also players who are ready because the young talented players need time to develop." Chelsea assistant coach Gianfranco Zola has said Bayern are "very interested" in the teenager, whose has been with the Londoners since 2007 but is stalling on a new contract. Hudson-Odoi is seen as a potential rising star of the English game and was a member of the England Under-17 team which won the World Cup in 2017. But it is claimed he wants to play more -- he has only played three times for Chelsea's first team -- and may be persuaded by the example of another young English winger Jadon Sancho who is thriving at Bundesliga league leaders Dortmund since deciding to leave Manchester City. Under-pressure Kovac needs to reinvigorate Bayern and replace many of the team's long-standing stars who are approaching the end of their careers. Two of those players, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, have announced they will finish their careers at the end of this season. Bayern currently stand second in the Bundesliga, six points behind Dortmund. The club, which is sponsored by Qatar Airways, will be in the Gulf until January 10. snip

  13. I read that IF it does hit, it wouldn't be until January 2020 window. I will find the article
  14. 2 different types of players. Barella is a potential (and this is going way back, before I was even born, but watching old games I can so see the resemblance) Marco Tardelli type. Very energetic, technical CMF who can also go forward. Great passer, seems to be very intuitive. He was the best player on the pitch when Italy beat Poland 1 nil back 2 months ago (and that was with Jorginho and Verratti playing with him, plus Zielinski against). He can play any MF position, but he would be a replacement (and upgrade) to Kovacic. IF we sign Barella, Kovacic will not be purchased, I am 99% sure of that. Barella would provide that extra 'bite' Sarri has been whinging on about. Magic Box is a massive fan, and he managed him once. Gianfranco Zola could be key to Chelsea signing Manchester United target in January https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/gianfranco-zola-key-chelsea-signing-15542210 here is a big break down Sando Tonali is easy DH DMH regista, like Jorginho, but far more physical think Pirlo crossed with Gattusso Gattuso potentially a generational player Sarri rates him above almost any other Italian player in terms of long term view https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-6397355/Who-Sandro-Tonali-Italian-teen-branded-new-Andrea-Pirlo.html http://www.sportbible.com/football/news-tonali-compares-himself-to-another-player-its-not-andrea-pirlo-20181113
  15. Barella is a class player, bottom line. Forgot to add that, your slating him via association and inference aside. Italians, much like the English, are under tremendous pressure to stay and play at home. They often take less money to do so. You previously said you barely or almost never watched Serie A, yet now you offer a critical analysis of the entire League? English players pale in comparison to the Italians in the long term sweep of football history. Not even remotely close. Not just talking about the inflated prices, talking about the raw pure talent and outcomes. You are going to get nowhere with me when you slag out Italian football.

  17. Yes, that is why Verratti and Jorginho are such shit. NOT SMDH You do realise that other than those two, almost none of the top Italians are playing abroad. So, present day (because that is what we are living in) who are all these giant flops (other than mental Mario Balotelli)? Zappacosta was brought in as backup, and as far as I am concerned, IF we sold Azpi or moved him to CB, and brought in a better RB, Zappa is adequate as a backup (he will not be here much longer anyway) You know who is overrated? REALLY overrated? 95+% of English players. Everton demanding £70-80m for Pickford! LOLOLOL Us paying £70m (when total wages fees, etc are factored in) for Drinkwater. Harry Maguire being valued at £65-70m. Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, Jesse Lingard and Jordan Henderson, etc being described in British rags as 'world class'.
  18. Barcelona seal signing of Toulouse defender Jean Clair Todibo He will pen a four year deal and arrive on a free transfer in June https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/barcelona-seal-signing-of-toulouse-defender-jean-clair-todibo-7229253 Jean Clair Todibo will be a new Barcelona player at the end of the season. The club believe all the details have been sealed to sign the 19-year-old centre back from Toulouse on a free transfer. He will come on a four-year deal. Todibo will join the first team straight away in the summer and work with the squad for the full pre-season. However at the end of August his position will be evaluated. He is young and has lots of potential so Barca may want him to move on loan to get first team experience. The signing, is a choice by Eric Abidal and doesn’t exclude Barca from still searching for another centre-back who will go into the first team squad next season. <<<<<<<<< de Ligt snip The work of Barca sporting director <<<<<<< Eric Abidal was crucial in swaying the France Under-20 international. he has insane upside, like possibly Koulibaly/Umtiti/Varane level upside, and BARCA gets him ON A FREE
  19. CROUCH BELIEVES CHELSEA SHOULD RE-SIGN DIEGO COSTA https://readchelsea.com/2019/01/04/crouch-believes-chelsea-should-re-sign-diego-costa/ Bring back Diego Costa and he'll make Chelsea great again... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6558709/Bring-Diego-Costa-hell-make-Chelsea-great-again.html
  20. Chelsea appear to be close to making their worst mistake in years https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/chelsea-appear-to-be-close-to-making-their-worst-mistake-in-years/ Chelsea have let so many top talents go in recent years, and another appears to be edging closer to the exit. Callum Hudson-Odoi is apparently increasingly likely to join Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany, with the Blues – likely against their will – running out of options. However, the Blues need to consider just how much of a poor decision this would been. They’ve had great young players before, but it’s been a while since a youngster as talented as Callum Hudson-Odoi has been on the scene. The attacker looked right at home in the Chelsea squad over the summer, owing to his incredible pace, energy and dribbling, and given the poor form of Willian, in particular, it’s a travesty that he hasn’t had a proper chance this season. snip
