  2. Atalanta ready to enact buy option on Chelsea owned midfielder https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/atalanta-ready-to-enact-buy-option-on-chelsea-owned-midfielder-43857 Atalanta plan to enact their buy option on Chelsea owned midfielder Mario Pasalic, according to a report from Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport via Calciomercato.com today. The report details how the Bergamo based club are fully convinced by the performances of the 24-year-old Croatian midfielder, who is currently on his second season with the club. The player will cost la Dea around €15 million, a low fee for a player so well utilised by coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The player has made 18 appearances for Atalanta so far this season, missing only one game all season, the club’s 3-1 win over Lecce in October. He has scored four goals and provided two assists in that time and even scored the equalising goal in Atalanta’s 1-1 draw against Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League. Although contracted to Chelsea until 2022, Pasalic has never made an appearance for the South London club. snip
  3. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to make Leicester star top transfer target if ban is lifted https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1212990/Chelsea-Frank-Lampard-Leicester-Ben-Chilwell-transfer-news-rumours-gossip Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly targeting a move for Leicester star Ben Chilwell if the Blues get their transfer ban lifted. Chelsea cannot make any signings currently though are believed to be hopeful that the ban will be lifted ahead of the January window. snip
  4. probably not, lolol it is all a crap-shoot although I sometimes get a 'feeling' that some deal rumours are completely legit Pulisic, Kova and unfortunately Bakadonkeyoko and Morata (we basically broke even so he was not a complete disaster) are good examples and the Barca £65m offer for Willian we turned down
  5. Teammate raves about Chelsea loanee who ‘fits perfectly’ https://www.teamtalk.com/news/teammate-raves-about-chelsea-loanee-who-fits-perfectly Burnley left-back Erik Pieters has said that he is happy to see his teammate and Chelsea-owned midfielder Danny Drinkwater finally play in the Premier League this season. Drinkwater joined Burnley on loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The 29-year-old, who is scheduled to stay at the Clarets until January 6, made his league debut for Sean Dyche’s side in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening. The former Leicester City midfielder, who had been on the sidelines for almost three months after suffering an ankle injury in an incident outside a Manchester nightclub, started the match and played for 59 minutes. Pieters was pleased to see Drinkwater finally make his Premier League debut for Burnley, and hopes that he gets more playing time. “I’m really happy for him,” Pieters said about Drinkwater. ”He’s waited for a long time to be in the team and I’m happy for him to get his first performance in. He would have been happier if we got a result I’m sure, but at least he got his first minutes in with us. Hopefully he can continue. snip
  6. Dier is shit (different position though from Mount, and he may squeak in as he can play CB as well) for a EURO/WC potentially near winning team, he is so pedestrian fuck Henderson, he is another England player I detest simply for the squad (and not just for the fact I HATE him as a whingy Dipper cunt as well) RLC's injury will end up fucking him Barkley is so out of form on and off the pitch I do agree that Mount has big pressure from Maddison and Grealish (I rate all 3, and I am positive I get hate here for saying that, lol) I love MF'ers with swagger (Lamps and Becks are perfect examples, Pirlo too, albeit in a different manner, but still a boss) Rice, OX, and Winks are probably locks, Rice is a massive key for us, IF he plays for England like he played for the Shammers against us, he can help us go DEEP
  7. or a draw bonus is that OGS stays as manager
  8. CHELSEA READYING CLUB-RECORD BID TO SIGN JADON SANCHO https://readbundesliga.com/2019/12/04/chelsea-readying-club-record-bid-to-sign-jadon-sancho/ Chelsea are reportedly readying a club-record bid to sign Jadon Sancho ahead of their Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool. According to Goal, the Blues are preparing to break the bank in order to bring Sancho in during either the January or summer window. Any January move will, of course, depend on Chelsea being cleared from their transfer ban, with a decision believed to be imminent from the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Chelsea are described as ‘feeling confident’ about their chances of winning the race to sign Sancho. A wealth of clubs have already been linked with a move for the player, who looks destined to leave Dortmund in the very near future. Clearly unhappy in Germany, Sancho’s fallouts in Dortmund have been made very public this season – adding fuel to the fire that a Premier League return is imminent. Chelsea’s current transfer record stands at £72 million after they brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao. snip not convinced we do this (or even can if the ban stands and Sancho leaves in January)
  9. Chelsea fear Marcos Alonso’s form result of signing lucrative long-term deal https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/04/chelsea-fear-marcos-alonsos-form-result-signing-lucrative-long-term-deal-11268352/?ito=newsnow-feed Chelsea fear Marcos Alonso’s performances have dropped because he was given a new long-term deal last year, reports say. Alonso has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea under Frank Lampard, with Emerson Palmieri and natural right-back Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of him at left-back. Lampard is eager to strengthen at left-back and the Athletic claim figures in Chelsea’s camp are concerned Alonso’s sudden drop off in form was a result of his new contract in October 2018. The deal secured Alonso’s future at Chelsea until 2023 and is worth £100,000-a-week. The suggestion is Alonso’s motivation has been diminished since he was given the improved contract. Alonso was dropped from Lampard’s starting eleven after he was substituted at half-time in a 4-4 draw Ajax and has failed to make the squad for Chelsea’s last three Premier League matches. ‘I have selection choices in different positions. We need a squad,’ Lampard said of Alonso’s exclusion from the squad. snip
  10. I would put him in the Fernandinho genetic freak camp. Same for Maldini, Buffon (who should have retired after he left Juve the first time), Zoff, Totti, CR7, Messi, Pirlo, Zlatan, Alves, Lothar Matthäus, etc. Not that Fernandinho is remotely in the same class as those players.
  11. reaches his prime? he turns 30 next season he is in his prime now, and has 2 more prime years left after this season, maybe 3 max (and I say that is maybe, maybe a wee stretch, especially for the EPL and the type of action action player he is) he is a small guy, has been pounded on for years, and at 32 (in the 3rd year from above) is going to be susceptible to injuries even more than he is showing now lets look at WC older MFers Modric (a different type of player) had his peak at the WC (when he was 32), and has rapidly declined since David Silva is also rapidly dropping from when he was 32 (33 now) Look at his play this year versus last (and he is a different type of MFer too) Blaise Matuidi's has been steady downhill from since he turned 32 Busquets is a shadow of what he once was, has been since he he was 30 (the second half of last season is when his decline started, he is 31 now) I am actually surprised by him, out of all these by far Ivan Rakitic has been in decline since he hit 31, give him another year and he is truly done as a full time player on a top team like Barca Radja Nainggolan hit 30 and its been downhill rapidly since (he is a smoker though) Mata is 31 and looks like a shadow defensive oriented MFers? the only decent one left over 30 (Matic hit 30 as is done as a starter for a class club, he barely gets a sniff at Manure, ffs, who plays the simply dreadful Fred (worst ever £50m plus MF) as a full starter, although he has been injured, which starts to happen more often for so many players when you are 31, 32) is the genetic freak, Fernandinho he is literally the only one over 30 who is remotely still class, maybe, maybe the just turned 31yo Javi Martínez (who would be eaten up here in the EPL, he is shielded a lot at Bayern and is hardly a super key player there) I am NOT saying to sell Kante (unless a £125m or more offer came in) but we do need to start looking (starting for sure in 2021) for his eventual replacement (I cannot recco Camavinga enough for so many reasons) even if we 3 more peak years out of him, if we waited til summer 2022 to do anything you literally have only one year of integration, which is probably how (knowing our board) it is probably going to go anyway, hell they may wait will summer 2023
  12. McNeil just drew a yellow on Bernardo, blew past him
  13. and of course the twat kicks it sloppily out of play as soon as I type that, ffs
  14. Drinkwater with a cheeky brace please and a January sale
  15. I am really interest in watching a lot of Dwight McNeil 20yo left-footed pacy winger

  17. Atalanta to take up option on Chelsea loanee Mario Pašalić — report https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2019/12/2/20992467/atalanta-to-take-up-option-on-chelsea-loanee-mario-pasalic-report Last season, Chelsea loanee Mario Pašalić helped Atalanta to a club record third place finish in the Serie A, which meant that the Bergamo-based club also qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history. Given that windfall of UEFA money, Atalanta were fully expected to take up their €15m buy-option on the key midfielder. Instead, they managed to work out yet another loan with Chelsea, getting the player back for a much smaller investment. It’s like we’re running a charity over here. However, Chelsea did extend Pašalić for three more seasons before signing off on the loan, and that is bound to ensure that we eventually collect a fee for the 24-year-old. And sure enough, given Pašalić’s continued importance at Atalanta, who are once again pushing for a top-four finish while also keeping hope alive of reaching the Champions League knockout rounds, reports are once again popping up of them exercising their buy-option. Here’s one from Tuttosport (via Football Italia), who claim this will only happen at the end of the season, which would make sense. Maybe this time they’ll actually do it for real? snip he has scored quite a few goals (for a CMF) for them (look at the total minutes) in the last 2 seasons (and was not a full-timer at all until this year) 12 goals, 8 assists in 3355 minutes, all comps
  18. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed signing another defender in January https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/12/02/manchester-city-manager-pep-guardiola-has-dismissed-signing/ Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager, has dismissed signing another defender in January - and rejected the notion of a major rebuild next summer. He will instead maintain his faith in Fernandinho at centre back and await the return of Aymeric Laporte after his knee injury during the transfer window. City have been linked with Leicester City’s Turkey international Caglar Soyuncu as they look to resolve problems in a rearguard shorn of captain Vincent Kompany, following a second successive Premier League title success, and then Laporte in August. They are now without a clean sheet in seven games - a run deemed “not good enough” by Guardiola - as they head to Burnley on Tuesday, desperate for victory to cut Liverpool’s 11-point lead at the top. But he said City’s transfer strategy has not changed. “No. Nope. I don’t want any players in January,” said Guardiola. “If we cannot do it in summer, we cannot do in January. When they come for an incredible opportunity in January for the next four, five, six years, maybe we could think about it, but that is not possible. “Normally the players we could think it would be interesting to add something for our squad, they are not going to sell it. “We could not sign a centre-back [in the summer]. Nico [Otamendi] continued and we decided to adapt Fernandinho in this position and that’s all. “Sometimes the club wants to try to do their best, but we cannot. We have to adapt and adjust with the players that we have and next season we will see. “We don’t have to rebuild too much. Rebuilding the team is seven or eight players, which we did in the second season when seven finished their contract because 11 players were over 30. Buy two or three players is not rebuild, it’s just substituting positions.” snip Pep is fucking nuts even with a healthy (and I am not at all convinced he will play till late spring) Laporte, they still need a CB Fernandinho is shit there (and is 35yo in a few months), Otamendi (soon 32) is dire dregs, and Stones is extraordinarily overrated, and Pep seems to have little to no interest in playing Walker at CB (which has the added bonus of allowing Cancelo to start at RB most games) I do not understand how a team worth around £1.2bn or so in players (real market buy/resale value) overall has been allowed to have such a fixable thing potentially destroy their season, and wilfully choose to do so. I think they were crazy to let Kompany go if they knew they were going to fail to sign a CB last summer.
  19. love what I see so far we are so overdue for a great home kit, the only 2 I really liked in the past 10 years were 2012-13 and then the first Nike strip
  20. Chelsea must mind the gap between midfielders and defense on transition https://theprideoflondon.com/2019/12/03/chelsea-midfielders-defense-transition-gap/ Chelsea have shed their reputation as a defense-first team, but that is not exactly a good thing when they are losing to West Ham. Reclusive Pride of London contributor Siddarth V identifies the areas where Chelsea need to patch up their form. Chelsea escaped defeat against Valencia, but the fans did not have much time to recover and enjoy the narrow fortune. With the fixtures coming thick and fast, the relief quickly gave way to the suffering of a 0-1 loss to West Ham at home on Saturday. Chelsea have problems to sort out on both the ends of the pitch: from being clinical in front of the goal to being quick and compact in defensive transitions. This season in the Premier League, Chelsea’s goals per match has increased from 1.66 last season to 2.15 under Frank Lampard. They are just four behind the league leaders Liverpool for goals scored (although they are fourth in goals score overall, 11 goals short of Manchester City). However, at the other end of the pitch, Chelsea have the second worst goals against of the top six teams – the actual top six, not the “traditional top six” – with 20 conceded. This is eight higher than last season at the same stage. Lampard cannot continue with a gung-ho philosophy of “we will score more goals than the opponents” in every match, simply because sometimes they cannot score any at all. A few weeks back, when Jose Mourinho wasn’t the Tottenham manager but was a TV pundit (has ever there been a more insightful one?), he explicitly stated his concerns about Chelsea and their performance against the bigger teams. The results against Manchester City and Valencia validate Mourinho. Chelsea’s record against the top sides (including in the Champions League) this season have been 1W-5L-3D. Hate Jose Mourinho all you want, but he might have a point here. And what is more concerning is that he now is manager of one of Chelsea’s rivals and can exploit these very weaknesses when Chelsea clash with Tottenham in under three weeks. snip more at the link

  22. Mou has wanted since he was a teen dog help us if they somehow grab him at Spuds (I do so doubt Levy would drop that type of cash, and I doubt Varane would go to spuds anyway) I see him at PSG or Juve or even Manure (IF they were fixed) long before Spuds though
