  1. That line always bugs me haha Yes you are correct it is a lot of money for squad players and yes they are overvalued cause they are HG. But HG is an important part of the prem and we need HG players who can do the job. You're correct Aurier is a better player at the moment than Ox but he does have his own issues and isnt HG so what do you want us to do? We are incredibly short on HG players and have a limit of non HG players. I think Ox can do a really great job at RWB and we have to pay that english premium. just the way of the world. If there was no HG quota it would be different.
  2. There is a wide variety of reasons players choose other teams including wage, first team opportunities, personal connections on the team, and yes general preference for another coaches certain style but that is normal and would happen regardless of who was coaching us.
  3. Baka and Kante both also said that Conte was a big reason they came to the team. He seemingly convinced them both after talking to them. I also wouldnt necessarily say we have had a tough time with transfers, just a few saga's with difficult teams and players not pushing. Overall since he has joined i have been happy with the players we have brought in and he coached. Morata/Baka/Rudi already look like great additions and I am excited to see what he can do with Ox/Barkley if we manage to close the deals.
  4. if we manage to get Barkley for under 30m id be thrilled. Lots of untapped potential. Interesting comparison of Barkley vs Sigurdsson: https://differentgame.wordpress.com/2017/06/12/the-data-scout-gylfi-sigurdsson-v-ross-barkley-part-one/
  5. I know it isnt going to happen but my dream of him coming is still alive! aha Sell bats/Diego bring in Llorente and Belotti. Morata/Belotti/Llorente is unreal and with Tammy coming up Llorente can age out gracefully. Until the window closes ill keep trying to speak this transfer into existence!
  6. they left the squad depth transfers late cause teams get less brave when the deadline is so close and they have money in front of them. Swans bought Llorente for 5m, can sell him for 15. They quote 30 to fuck with us but he obviously wants to leave and they know that. Arsenal tried to convince Ox to stay but he made it clear the entire time so with the deadline approaching time to cash in. DD seems like a strange move for everyone but clearly he wants to be on a big squad making a bit more money with less gametime for the chance at trophies as he ages.
  7. would be very happy if we signed him up for a reasonable price. Good solid contributor who brings a different skill set. Scored in the PL last year and in big games for them. Now if we can just do a swap of Bats + cash for Belotti! ahaha
  8. I understand that, but price paid is still an important figure especially when the player is an ageing striker reliant on pace. if its 30m or under im fine. 30-35 meh. 35 and over i don't like the deal. Budget matters and using more than we need to on an ageing player is not something i am interested in personally.
  9. if he keeps his head right and he is allowed in the country Tottenham will be fully set between he and trippier and the young kid on the right side. Davinson Sanchez + Aurier give them some more really tough athletic skillful players.
  10. My issue isnt with his skill set, its the price for his age. What do you think they will demand for him if they want 40m for Drinkwater?
  11. I have no interest in Vardy. He is a fine player, a hard worker, willing runner, pretty good finisher. But for the price they will want and his age? no thank you.
  12. One frustrating thing if these bids are happening...Torino has been SO clear they won't sell for under release clause. I understand the closer they get to the deadline he/they might get itchy and hit the bid/want to leave. But if we really have interest instead of the initial 5 shitty bets lets just enter real negotiations, or at least lodge a bid closer to 100m. Hazard Belotti Morata Truly terrifying, All of the space for hazard to float. Both committed runners, Belotti is the power, Morata is the Balance, Hazard is the key. It could be something scary. But my hopes of this deal happening are maybe 1-100 only because we seemingly continue to bid. I'll be one happy guy when this transfer window shuts.
  13. Team player. Amazing effort. Love it.
  14. Way too early lineup prediction. Courtois Azpi Luiz Rudiger Moses Kante Baka Alonso Cesc Pedro Morata Depending on health of all involved we could easily see Willian in Pedros place. If baka can play he needs to. Harsh on christensen I know but we are still on once a week game schedule and i think Conte prefers rudiger out wide between the two.
  15. GDS has unconfirmed reports we agreed for Candreva. I am a fan of his (my italian bias) I think he would do really well for us and he will age out as Dujon Sterling hopefully comes into his own. Candreva/Moses/Azpi(RWB cover) firms that position up for me.
  16. Was a tough game for him, spurs were super physical and the ref let alot of the tackles go. For not being fully fit and isolated up top I thought he did as good a job as we could ask. Having fabregas/hazard/pedro back after the international break we will see a different morata. He fought for us and defended well on set pieces. Should have scored that header but nobody is perfect. once he picks up that "shield your body and fall over" move Kane uses constantly and gets a handle on how they call the game he will thrive. He ran himself into the ground for us. International break cant come soon enough to get some fitness work in for Baka/Morata/Hazard
  17. Loved the effort by him, to play a full 90' against tottenham away while not being fully fit is mental. Without him we would have had no chance to win. That is the type of effort and dedication we need that lifts up the others, if he can run and fight why cant you. I am so excited to see him get fully fit and develop with Kante. We saw a small bit of what he can truly offer with some of those runs and challenges. I am very excited. So far Morata/Baka/Rudiger all look like great buys and fit with how we want to be as a club.
  18. Is this classified as a saga? I don't think so. We are interested in the player and if the club decides to cash in we will put an offer. Its either us/liverpool/or he stays. This has been painless for me, Now Alex Sandro...that is a saga
  19. I don't doubt that Conte will fight with all he has got to win trophies. My point is its a shame we didn't back him with enough to give him a fair fight.
  20. 352 or 424 would surely happen. The space hazard could work in would be truly frightening.
  21. oh i agree 100% we absolutely need a depth/competition signing. Doubt Rose would be able to escape spurs, Ox can do the job there or Telles from Porto. I am still upset we missed on Mendy
  22. I think he is hurting his own case, If he would stop talking I am sure Chelsea/Atleti would have agreed to a fee around 40m + performance add ons. Now the more he pushes Chelsea publicly the more they will dig their heels in and not be bullied and forced to bend to the will of a player. I can see us holding onto him, continue to Fine him until he comes back to train and get in shape. If he doesn't, I believe you fine him and let him waste prime years of his career sitting at home in Brazil. All sides have handled this extremely poorly since basically everyone knew the writing on the wall in January. Edit: One bonus we have is World Cup year, he desperately wants to be in the Spain squad but if he doesnt play they can not select him. We can afford to pay him and fine him until he does what he is contracted by Chelsea to do. Ugly scenes ahead.
  23. god this summer has been bad for Conte/Chelsea. Feels like he will be gone next summer. Conte is definitely a temperamental manager on the transfer front that much is known, I think he was trying to be positive last year hoping he would prove himself then they would have to back him which hasn't happened. Frustrating for him and for the Club. Not a good environment at the moment. Feels like no matter who they bring in now he wont be happy cause they left it so late he wont be able to work with them on "His idea of football"
  24. Conte can be furious all he wants, Sandro handing in a request was always the key to the deal. Earlier in the summer would not have changed things in my mind, they value Sandro and unless the player wants to leave why would they sell him? His agent must have given the indication he was interested in the move but not interested enough to push. I dont blame the board or Conte if we don't get him, offering world record defender fees is as much as we could have done. It has always been down to the player pushing to leave, Juve have always needed that to do the deal.
  25. I refuse to believe this. I love Belotti. Don't you dare try and get my excited Chelsea. Never gonna happen.
