  1. http://www.espnfc.com/blog/tactics-and-analysis/67/post/2622059/jose-mourinhos-terry-decision-pays-off This sums up Mourinho's philosophy. He'll never change so get used to it.
  2. You've gone too far, my Lebanese friend. I'm out of my comfort zone. I'm out.
  3. I agree with your point, I said something a bit similar before. But the biting is out of control though. An insane thing to do. And he hurt his team(s) with the bans. Diego is far more controlled. He usually tones down when he's been carded. He must have the eyesight of a hawk though because he gets away with so much. He could've been sent off two or three times in his Chelsea career but refs always seem to miss it. Either that or they're stupid enough to get intimidated and feel frightened on a football pitch.
  4. Your information is incorrect. Aguero hasn't even played 200 games for City. Aguero 11/12: 39 starts + 9 sub apps - 30 goals + 9 assists 12/13: 30 starts + 10 sub apps - 17 goals + 4 assists 13/14: 31 starts + 5 sub apps - 32 goals + 9 assists 14/15: 37 starts + 5 sub apps - 32 goals + 9 assists Total 137 starts + 29 sub apps - 111 goals + 31 assists 0,81 goals per start (0,67 per game) - 1,04 goals and assists per start (0,86 per game) http://www.espnfc.com/player/44927/sergio-aguero Costa 11/12: 15 starts + 1 sub app - 10 goals + 4 assists 12/13: 36 starts + 8 sub apps - 20 goals + 8 assists 13/14: 50 starts + 2 sub apps - 36 goals + 4 assists 14/15: 32 starts + 5 sub apps - 21 goals + 3 assists (ESPN didn't include his disputed League Cup final goal but I added it to his total) Total 133 starts + 16 sub apps - 87 goals + 19 assists 0,65 goals per start (0,58 per game) - 0,80 goals and assists per start (0,71 per game) http://www.espnfc.com/player/95410/diego-costa?season=2014 Only included club apps. ESPN stats are always spot on, because they update it after every game. I checked it out because I've always known about Aguero's excellent record for City. Atletico play 4-4-2. Costa played alongside Falcao in 12/13. I know people say he played out wide but those were isolated occasions. He did not play on the wing for a full season, that's a myth. Aguero played alongside Balotelli, Tevez, Dzeko for years. Whether as the true #9 or in a supporting role. They both have great records.
  5. Roy Keane was an overrated thug in boots. Something about him screams he's not a very pleasant man to be around either.
  6. I think someone slipped you the wrong disc when you bought your bootleg Star Wars DVD. The original movie is not a porno, pervert.
  7. Gary is a closet Chelsea fan. He was upset when Chelsea performed so poorly. He should come out. He'd jump if Mourinho would approach him for an assistant manager job.
  8. I thought he was very sloppy tbh. The guy in your avatar had a better game imo.
  9. I agree with those saying winding up is part of the game. But this is too much. He's drawing so much attention to himself, making a spectacle. I didn't watch the game to see him. I want a game of football. It's become a weekly thing as well. It's different with other strikers that will get into fights a few times in a 50-60 game season. Drogba was like that and that got very, very tiring as well. That slap in Moscow was in my mind for so long. I remember when he came out and said his son was embarrased by his behaviour so he tried to control himself as much as he could. And he improved so much, becoming very likeable. But I need much better football, 35 goals and proper fitness from Diego if he's going to behave like this every week. Otherwise I'll just dislike him more and more. Or maybe someone can get Diego a very fertile broad quick. Like right now.
  10. Is incest beyond scousers? If not, did Rooney get a discount?
  11. Rooney's grammar is atrocious. Took me a while to read that. I've had that problem with previous tweets posted.
  12. I thought he did a more than decent job in a position that's not his own.
  13. Arsenal did look good. But it's always easier to look good when you've been written off and when the real pressure to win every match isn't there. In athletics, Justin Gatlin clocked a faster time than anyone. But when the final came, he was beat by Usain Bolt. Usain's time to win the World Championship was slower than Gatlin's time in one of the previous rounds. Gatlin wasn't capable of producing that time when he felt that heat in his neck. That's Arsenal for me at the end of the day. They have a good team. Good options in most positions (for some reason they passed up the opportunity to strengthen in the areas they needed a quality injection though). Like you said, Wenger and Arsenal doesn't work anymore. I do think the people in charge of Arsenal are more interested in making money than winning trophies though.
  14. I agree about his physical presence. Fans in general tend to overlook that part of the game. He kept their entire defence busy, showing great energy levels with his pressing and back-tracking. He did that brilliantly. Although I did think he wasn't a big enough presence in the middle to threaten goal. But I thought his play on the ball was poor for the most part. Either by killing attacks because of poor touches and dribbling into traffic. Link up play wasn't quite at the level you'd want it. Mixed performance for me.
  15. Haha. You're one of those people. Why not just not buy anything? I'll never understand why money isn't considered a good gift.
  16. How can a club perform so terribly despite buying players left and right? Of course you have to be a fool to appoint McClaren.
  17. I do agree with this. Ramires was Mourinho's go to option on the right. I'd rather have Moses on the right back then. But now with Pedro at the club, Mourinho won't pick Ramires bar injury.
  18. Do you think it's because a Nigerian HG player isn't the same as English HG? I think £10m is quite fair. Especially at his age. Of course there are the yearly surprise bargains but so many inferior or similar level players go for a lot more.
  19. Definitely plays a big part. He provides such quality support and prevents the CB having to defend 1 v 1, getting outnumbered or defending a vast amount of space. All of a sudden you see Gary, all confident, coming out of defence trying to get an early tackle in or apply pressure. He feels safe.
  20. I campaigned for Otamendi all summer like he was running for president. It will hurt if he becomes a big hit at City.
  21. Mehh, his technique doesn't compare those mentioned and others like a Kolarov, Lahm, Maxwell etc. Those players are almost wide midfielders in their positioning, comfort on the ball, decision-making and technique. Ivanovic at any point of his career doesn't compare to those players either, although his power was a big asset for him. He was a CB afterall, and never a ball-playing CB Azpilicueta is a lot more old fashioned. A 90s and early 00s fullback. Of course he's better offensively on the right, with his natural right foot. Even Cole was always decent technically, but he was very astute in his positioning and quite clever in his decision-making (and had great pace and a good first touch).
