  1. You're right but you're wrong. This is John Terry. It's just different with him. Normal rules don't apply. This season has been aaaahhh but JT can still contribute to Chelsea. That's what I think. It's what I know. He has to stay.
  2. Don't get the overrating of the lesser players either. It's a shame the established ones are all so settled. If he leaves, it will be extremely hard to replace him properly. And I do think his words suggest he's thinking about leaving. I read what he said and immediately thought ooohhh people are gonna be upset haha. I think it's a cultural thing. They seem to be more open over in ChocolateAndWafflesland. I like it. Wish more were like that and actually said something when they open their mouths. But that's not what it's like so he's sticking out like a sore thumb. He would be wise to shut up. People can forget ridiculous fees though. Goalies don't command massive fees and the elite aren't desperate for a new GK. Navas is arguably Real's player of the season. Possibly PSG but they have a brilliant home grown talent in Areola, currently making strides at Villarreal. Already among the better GKs in La Liga in his debut season. And that's good news for Chelsea. He'll get over this slump, return to his best form and undoubtly improve and fans will start kissing his arse again. The end.
  3. They're better. Comfortably better. Simple as. Not too bothered about coming up short in the end. The boys have it a good go but it wasn't enough. You can talk about Chelsea 'only lacking a bit in the final third' but that's what it's all about. That final ball and/or play and finish is the key. That's what separates decent/good teams from top/elite teams. It has nothing to do with luck. Motta was brilliant. I truly enjoyed his football today. Fascinating to see how much he's improved after his thirties. Anyway, I'm not going to let this ruin football for me. Now I'll just enjoy football as a neutral for the rest of the season.
  4. Weak. So weak. Hasn't been in top condition all season long. I'd be upset if I actually knew it was because of his own doing in terms of personal care. Sad performances. I still see him bouncing back from this though. His ability is outstanding. Someone please send him the Messi/Higuain diet in the summer. Need him to get back in peak physical condition.
  5. Someone needs to force Cesc, Obi and Matic to watch Motta's performance at least 20 times over. Midfield masterclass. I like Cesc but to build a team around him? Give me a break. He's too limited. You compare him to Verratti and it's not even fair anymore.
  6. He has many teams interested. Goes on to say almost three Chinese teams want him. That really made me laugh haha. What doest that mean anyway? Almost three clubs. His agent needs to work on his selling pitch.
  7. Pjanic and Cesc in midfield. What a nightmare. You'd have a heart-attack every time the ball is lost. More holes in your midfield than a piece of cheese from Tom & Jerry. If you're going to play two playmakers/passers in midfield, at least one of them has to be dynamic and/or athletic. Think Modric. Or an aggressor and someone with an genuine defensive nous. Think Verratti. And at least one of them should be capable of holding the ball under (immense) pressure. You can point at Iniesta and Xavi and call them lightweight and soft but they are legendary players. Cesc and Pjanic don't compare. Not to mention the fact they played with Busquets behind them, with a game winner - no, trophy winner - Messi in front of them and most importantly, played in an incredibly dominant system which was almost unfair. There's a reason nobody has been able to emulate them. Ask Real. Ask Bayern even.
  8. Verratti not playing is huge BTW. He always destroys Chelsea. Motta and Matuidi are still a problem but a lot more do-able. Costa has been pony in Europe for Chelsea. With one measly goal to his name since he joined. Would be nice if he finally turned up for once. That would be kind and much appreciated.
  9. Ever since that game in Paris ended 2-1, I couldn't help but think this CL journey was most likely over. But as the tie draws closer and closer, I can't help but slip back into optimistic supporter-mode. This always happens before games. I won't pretend I'm expecting Chels to win this game and go through but I fully believe it can happen. Improbable but not impossible. Starting Pedro even though he just returned. Big move. Starting Kenedy at LB. Against Di Maria. Bigger move. Kenedy and Hazard on the same flank. Biggest move. It's nice to see Chelsea make attacking choices for once in a big/huge/gigantic game though. Very nice. Whatever happens, Chelsea tried. Come on, Chelsea! The ultimate party poopers.
  10. He's actually become Mikel 2.0. I remember saying he could end up being the new Mikel but I didn't think it would happen. He won't leave. He'll eventually ride that bench but he'll be a Blue for a long time. Maybe we'll see him get 'revived' in 2020 a la Obi (I don't completely share that opinion on Mikel's current run in the team though).
  11. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we call natural ability. The improvement in his two latest games compared to the 2/3 games before is already clear to see. Thought he was qutie underwhelming in his first few games, judging him as first team footballer and ignoring his young age. But he's already stepped up a few levels in a matter of weeks. You can't teach that. It's a special talent residing inside the boy. My only fear was his ability to cope with the physical demands of first team football but he's playing 90 min every week and doesn't look jaded at all. Neither is he getting bullied on the pitch. I'm so happy he's doing well. Biggest talent at the club for me and my view hasn't changed. He has to be Hazard's successor, who'll most likely be gone by 2019. A year or two in Spain and bring him back afterwards. Play Musonda.
  12. You're right in saying we don't know what happens in training but if he impressed during the week, he'd receive chances in games. Instead we don't see him for weeks/months and if we see him, it's usually a short cameo. I think he needs to go out on loan and learn how to truly compete. Let him go somewhere, secure a place in the first XI, keep it and perform the required level (at the very least).
  13. Traore's development only confirms my belief of Loftus-Cheek simply failing to impress, in training and on the pitch. He's hailed by many fans as the next big thing but he's done nothing to deserve such immense praise. Traore on the otherhand has impressed and he's been given chances because of it. Loftus-Cheek still has a way to go. His talent is obvious but he's still lacking mentally and tactically. That's my view anyway. Traore has really surprised me. I never thought he'd have any kind of impact here. And I think that would've been the case under Mourinho. Hiddink took a chance, Traore took it and Chelsea seem to be reaping the rewards. That goal was a thing of beauty. Great quick thinking, good control and a wicked shot. Poor defending tbh but he took them by surprise. You don't expect that from a striker, especially one so young. He should be proud of that. I can only hope this is the start of something wonderful. Chelsea possess some precocious talent. Would be a shame if they didn't realise their potential at this club. Their club. Our club. Win this and make it four in a row, boys. Come on, Chels
  14. You can be arrogant, self-absorbed and pretentious and give blood, donate to charities and save kittens from trees. Not saying that he is but I've never understood the 'he's a philanthropist so he's not arrogant' argument (iIt might even be a way to create good will but that's not relevant in this case). One does not cancel out the other.
  15. Guus should be put in a giant oven and his body juices should be bottled. And the players have to drink it. Anyone who refuses doesn't get paid. Punishment for 15/16. It's Dutch, baby. You weren't that far off.
  16. Guus Geluk, ik denk dat ik van je houd.
  17. I'd love love love Barkley. A player that can hold the ball, dribble, shoot from distance and score goals. Yes, please. He has size as well.
  18. Getting another skilled midfielder will be key in the summer, among strengthening other key areas. Can't depend on him, especially with his magic siestas on top of his limitations.
  19. This had to happen. Players/young players always go through a rough patch. He'll bounce back but there's no denying he's been far from his best in 15/16. Not as confident with him in goal as I used to be.
  20. Wrote a post about him before the game, saying he might make a good option. He's not disappointing.
  21. Snoozefest but that was to be extected. And this was always going to be a very tough game, even if this was 2014/15. Southampton is a team that's excellently organised. Chelsea's slowness makes it even worse. Looks like the match is being played at a slower speed. Can still win this. An early goal in the 2nd half and they start shaking.
  22. Hope Emenalo and the scouts are keeping a good eye on Van Dijk. Never thought I'd say this but he's developing into a very good CB. That position will forever remain the hardest to call, so many late bloomers. But it's also position that comes with many one season wonders and players shining at a certain level, only to fail at a higher level. Anyway, Van Dijk is tall, a powerhouse, dominant in the air, good on the ground, clean and calm in duels and keeps growing in terms of tactical awareness. The only downside to him is the fact that he's slow and very slow on the turn. That hurts him. And his passing and decision-making on the ball isn't the best. But that could be compensated with the right partner. There are a couple of options I'd prefer but he could be a good option (at a good price as well). But the question is if he can keep this up. Don't know what to expect but anything less than a win is not a good thing. A draw wouldn't be bad but Chelsea needs to start winning games.
  23. When they deploy a 4-4-2 system, he always plays on the left. He has the legs the get up and down the pitch, and he has the freedom to attack in that role. He also has a good understanding with Evra. They don't have a natural wide midfielder in the team, Pogba is the best option. Khedira and Marchisio are also simply better holding midfielders. Pogba is an offensive midfielder after all. He's enjoying a great season but he was quiet today. But to be fair, all Juve did was defend for the most part of the game so all their attacking players were quiet. Pogba's not a big game player in general. Not yet anyway. He's 22, he has time.
  24. Been in love with him since World Cup 2010. He blows my mind. He's always several steps ahead of his opponents. And yes, his progression has been a joy to watch. He was already a legend but he's in his prime now and his level is quite frightening. His impact on Barca is immense, they're considerably weaker without him.
