  1. Brings on Flamini and he immediately gives away a penalty, securing their knock-out. I laughed so hard when that happened. Wenger is too loyal. He'll hold on to players even if they're either poor or past it.
  2. Only Arsenal can be the better team for vast amounts of a game and lose 0-2. It's the class of that front three. They were shut down by Arsenal but punished them with that one moment. Devastating counter-attack. Koscielny once again showcasing his undeniable class. Never understood why he's so underrated. Must be the Arsenal-factor. Second half of Juve-Bayern was brilliant. Juve got lucky with the big mistake that led to their first goal but credit to them for their reaction after going down by two. Return is going to be a treat. A special mention for Patrice Evra. I remember the Evra v Cole discussions in the past and I was firmly in the Cole camp. But Evra is still standing and Cole has been done for years (his career at the top started much earlier than Evra's though, has to be mentioned. I find that immensely impressive at his age as a fullback. Busquets is an emperor.
  3. Busquets is a genius. No one comes close in that role in the centre of the pitch. It's almost as if he goes into the future before each match, watches the game he's about play in and comes back to play with the advantage of knowing what his opponents are about to do and where his team mates are positioned. Best man on the pitch for me. Arsenal with an excellent defensive performance. Can't believe Juve aren't taking advantage of Bayern's midget makeshift defence. Pure defending. They did well to nullify Bayern for as long as they did but that was always coming. And of course Muller is the one to convert. That man is one of the greatest big game players I've got the chance to witness. Think we'll see goals in the second half of the Ars-Bar game. Juve need to be careful they don't end up conceding two at home.
  4. Don't think he's produced POTY form tbh. And Mahrez has outperformed him for that right wing spot so he won't make the team.
  5. He does less damage to the team if he loses the ball on the wing, he has more time and space out wide and he offers his fullback good protection. And Willian/Fabregas are simply performing better at #10 currently.
  6. That finish. He never would have managed/attempted that pre-15/16. Never. He surprised me with that. That was quality. Willy Double Digit. I'm pleasantly flabbergasted. It's a shame Willian's rise had to coincide with Hazard's fall. We as Chelsea fans haven't had the pleasure of witnessing both players in top form causing havoc. There's a nice balance between what they offer as well. I can only hope it will happen soon.
  7. Remember when Chelsea couldn't score from open play? Quite the transformation.
  8. Saw his game vs Sporting (debut before too). Plays on the flank though you can tell he's not a natural winger. He was okay. His raw ability is hard not to notice. The skill is there and he combines it with real pace and a pretty decent eye for his team mates. Already an impressive dribbler. But he's still finding his way at pro level. His decision-making is still all over the place and his positional sense is non-existant. But that's to be expected. I'm just happy he's playing in such a high level league. He seems to be taken seriously by his team mates as well. Gets plenty of touches and even takes set-pieces. Betis isn't very good though. Maybe he can force a move to a team like Malaga in the summer. That would be a great place for him to play for two or three seasons.
  9. I said he played very well though. Not great, excellent or exceptional. Think calling his performance over 90 min mehh is harsh. Willian was mehh for me. Can't get over the fact that he's so slow though.
  10. Thought he played very well in the second half after a decent first half.
  11. Kenedy started to impress with his sub appearances and then disappeared. Hope the same doesn't happen to Traore but I doubt it because Hiddink seems to like him. It's nice to have a player that can come on and have an impact. But you can forget about him starting games.
  12. Agree completely. Loved it when Fabregas called him on it. It had something of a big brother-little brother feeling. Hazard is lost mentally. Don't think the talk about him being busy with a move away is true.
  13. That was Fabregas' match. Hazard better. But we still need better. He needs to be better. He is better. Still waiting. 5 goals are 5 goals. Don't care about the weakened team. Should've scored more. The only realistic cup is still alive. Winning the FA Cup would be nice. I like Fabregas as a personality. He present himself well in the media, is well-spoken and there's a genuinity about him when he speaks. When he called Hazard on not taking the pen just now it didn't even feel like Fabregas pretending to be a 'big man' in front of the cameras. I'm happy.
  14. He intended to flick it back definitely but whether that was a genuine headed attempt on goal... haha. Great goal regardless.
  15. I think Loftus-Cheek is in very poor shape/form or something. Hiddink isn't using him and I thought he was very poor when he came on against Newcastle I think. Seriously poor. Mourinho didn't use him either. Can't help but think it's Ruben. A loan would probably best. He needs to learn how to compete and fight for a spot and then perform well enough to keep his place in the team. That's the feeling I get anyway.
  16. That flick just now from Baba was brilliant. First time and such quick decision-making.
  17. It says a lot about his status in the team. And I find that very worrying.
  18. He needs to regain his old speed and stamina levels. He has 0 arrogance in his game if he's not skipping past players and embarrassing opponents. He's not even taking PKs anymore. Who's idea was it to make Oscar first PK taker? Season from hell.
  19. Funny thing is the only difference between the first and the second half is the finishing. Chelsea were always in cruise control.
  20. His dribbling also gives him confidence in everything else he does. Just look at what putting the ball into the net did with Costa. My man!
  21. Hij draagt z'n steentje bij. 6/10 performance for me if you exclude the assists. But you can't exclude assists, not assists like these. He's caused Chelsea to score.
  22. Think you're right. It took an almighty turnaround for Diego to get back into the good graces of the fans. Many were prepared to ride him back to Spain on a bike. It saddens me to see Hazard like this but I'll never stop believing he can easily turn this around. But man has he become slow. I don't understand it. Is he suddenly not taking care of himself or is something wrong with him physically?
  23. Reading some of the posts though. Hazard is nowhere near his best but he's actually playing quite well. To say he's hurting the team is such an exaggeration.
  24. Hazard has turned into a slug. Chelsea's possession and speed of ball circulation falls and stands with Fabregas' form. That's not good, especially with his level of consistency. Chelsea still can't defend unless they defend in numbers. Regardless of the score, Chelsea outplayed this young City side and should be leading by two goals at least. Hopefully the finishing improves. Pedro is finally being used correctly. The effect of an attacking fullback who is actually quite capable in offence can not be underestimated. If only more players would get into the box.
  25. That's not what I meant. There are GKs who will have games in which they make save after save after save, refusing to concede and saving their teams. I haven't seen that from Courtois, not for Chelsea anyway. He'll play a great game but concede anyway. But it's not a big deal.
