  1. This is not true. This is not true. This is not true.
  2. The club should be very grateful Real turned down their offers. I've always said Michy is as talented as Morata (at least) and I still stand by that stance. Good pace, agile, uses his body well in physical duels. Conte will hopefully light a fire in that belly to get him moving and pressing. One of the things I like him about him is his nifty footwork and his ability to quickly pull the trigger with both feet. It's a great skill to have as a striker because he can create that bit of space for himself. Whether he'll become a great striker will depend on his own development in terms of movement, timing, decision-making and his ability to remain calm. I like his personality so I really hope he'll surprise and blow up immediately as the next exciting striker prospect.
  3. Somehow missed this noise. No, please. Capable of becoming a very good striker at best in a few years. Never world-class and never ever elite. Ridiculous money for a player of his calibre as well. I'm convinced he would've shunned Chelsea if other big clubs wanted him. Utd and Arsenal need(ed) a striker and didn't go for him. Same goes for Juve and Atletico. PSG could've used a striker but no. Remember his father talking about the likes of Bayern but it didn't quite happen. Nothing against Rom and I was happy for his personal succes at Everton but I just don't see how he makes the team better. Morata has a bit more to him for me and I wasn't a fan of that move either. I'd rather be patient and wait for a true world-class talent and spend stupid money on that player if needed.
  4. Need to target the likes of Ruben Neves, Weigl and Saul next summer. That's the type and calibre of player Chelsea need in midfield. Guess it will depend on CL football. What happened to midfielders with that Vieira and Ballack built btw? Offering size, power and good technique? They've always been rare but they're practically extinct currently. It's why Pogba is so coveted and expensive. Arsenal's Xhaka (if he turns out to be good) comes somewhat close. And there's Fellaini. Haha, just joking. Made myself laugh there.
  5. He turns 28 in October and his fitness is not the best. If he wants to go and Atletico offer 50 mil pounds, I say sell him. Firepower will need to be added if it comes to that but just don't make the mistake of getting Lukaku. Lacazette is the only striker I can see making an impact, looking at realistic targets. If not him, place faith in Michy up top and play Eden in support. Remy, Pedro and Traore as back-ups. And throw money at Mahrez. Courtois Azpilicueta Zouma Terry Kenedy Mahrez Fabregas/Matic Kante Willian Batshuayi Hazard Fix the left side of defence and you have a good team. Capable of becoming better than good.
  6. Chelsea's squad is gigantic. Most likely gonna end up sending an army out on loan again. There has to be a more effective of dealing with it. Big clubs hogging up all the talent with this 'mine, mine, mine' mentality is terrible for football. Anyway, what are the chances of Chelsea signing a quality CM? I still think we have a good shot of seeing a CB arrive but the rest... don't know. Not happy about the fullbacks. If Costa leaves, the club needs to add some serious firepower to the team or (potentially) live to regret it.
  7. Roughly 30 mil pounds + 15 mil in add-ons. Still too expensive but not as bad as I initially thought. I've liked the kid for a long time and wished he'd end up at Chelsea. Would've taken him at that price. Anyway, so City now have Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, Nasri, Nolito, Navas and Sane for the attacking midfield/winger positions. Funny thing is Chelsea have Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Cuadrado, Moses, Oscar, Traore (not to mention the loaners) so it's similar situation. It's hard to get rid of deadwood when you lured players in with very good money.
  8. 10 seasons. Amazed and flabbergasted.
  9. I know about their relationship, yeah. Probably the reason why Dortmund coughed up that fee. I don't think he'll be a succes but I hope I'm wrong.
  10. They're not getting Laca and Tolisso for 60 mil. They would be smart not to move to Napoli as well if they plan on moving on up in the future. Napoli don't play when it comes to negotiating. Laca joining Chelsea this season, Tolisso and Fekir joining next season? A boy can dream.
  11. So they sign a winger to replace him? Doesn't make sense. Don't think Aubame is leaving btw. Dortmund had to let Hummels, Gundo and Mkhi go because they only had a year left on their contracts. And Aubame said he only wants to leave for Spain, more specifically Real. Benz and Suarez are better and he's too expensive to be a back-up. So unless Atletico is planning a major coup... Think he would be better off at Dortmund though. Settled, loved and at least as likely to win trophies.
  12. Not a big fan of this transfer. First of all, how is player who struggled at Wolfsburg and was basically flop (failing at Chelsea before that) your most expensive player ever? Tuchel must've really pushed for the deal because Dortmund overpaid. Wolfsburg didn't lose money on a player who failed. Then there's the fact that Schurrle's best position is occupied by Reus. If he doesn't produce the goods there, the club and the manager failed. Not the player. He's not effective on the right at all. It's possible they signed him as Reus' deputy but do you break your record for such a role? Of course Reus is struggles to stay fit for a full season but still. Schurrle is a very decent player, not Dortmund starting XI material imo. And they were well stacked in those positions with Reus, Gotze, Dembele, Kagawa, Pulisic and Mor. Kuba is still at the club as well. Don't understand the purchase. Maybe Dortmund don't have faith in Reus staying fit? I don't know. Maybe it will make sense when the season starts.
  13. I guess. But you would think the futures of the likes of Van Ginkel, Moses, Pasalic, Djilobodji, Atsu, Chalobah would not be dependent on incoming players. I just remembered the club also made good money from the Ramires and Salah deals.
  14. What outgoing transfers? I'm actually surprised by the complete lack of exits so far.
  15. It wasn't a knock on him but when you're not quick and nimble, you better bring at least some body to the table.
  16. I love Zouma. Wonderful personality. But he needs to come back in prime physical condition. That's what makes him currently. A new CB + Christensen and a fully recovered Zouma and the future will look bright in the centre of defence. And I can forget about the Luiz and Cahill days. No disrespect to them but Chelsea enjoyed the services of fine CBs before them.
  17. What I meant was that there are quick and fast CBs and Christensen isn't one of them. He has okay pace but he can't recover like a Zouma or Ramos (especially in his prime). http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2016/07/22/25839562/christensen-wants-first-team-football-at-chelsea?ICID=HP_BN_5 Great news. I was afraid he wasn't too concerned about breaking through at Chelsea anymore. Wish he was part of the team this season but it will have to wait. He has to come back. And as for Barcelona. Go fuck yourselves.
  18. Could work. I have already written off as a midfielder in Chelsea colours tbh. Lacks the tactical nous, which is crucial as you need it to make an impact on matches. And his technique and vision is nothing to write home about so there's nothing to lean on. But as a striker his technique would be very solid. He also has a bit of pace in him and he has the body to use in physical duels. Question is whether he possesses the two essential attributes of a striker which is movement&timing (as they go hand in hand) and the killer instinct. I like the experimenting from Conte. We have something in common. But you have to wonder how serious this is though. He's only playing there because options are currently thin. Guess we'll see.
  19. That would defeat the purpose of a secret, my friend.
  20. Lyon were very poor in the first half of 15/16. Lacazette's form dipped as well. They lost Fekir and they weren't the same. Think CL football affected them as well. Team just wasn't clicking. It's a very young team so a dip in form was to be expected tbh. The form of the players just happened to dip simultaneously. He recovered in the second half of the season though. New manager, new system, some new players in the team (not newly transfered players) and the goals started pouring again. Ended up scoring 21 league goals and looked like his old self again.
  21. Forgot the stories of him being a money-making tool have shifted into him actually getting a chance.
  22. Firmino, Coutinho, Sane, Lallana, Wijnaldum for the attacking three. Klopp went for strength in depth I guess. If Firmino and Coutinho continue to develop and truly tap into their potential, they could become the difference makers. The situation up top is something though. Sturridge's will without a doubt continue so you need a really good #2 and #3. Is Origi ready to be that man? The likes of Ings, Firmino and Sane to deputise when needed. You're not getting anywhere with that centre midfield though. Same goes for GK. Surprised they haven't strengthened there. William Carvalho would be a good buy. Or take a slight gamble with Witsel. Signing Lass Diarra would be the smartest move though. Gonalons is also a very good option. Underrated player. For the GK position I'd go for Forster, Butland or Rui Patricio. They need a new LB as well. Moreno is a liability. Sell Mignolet, Moreno, Allen, Henderson, Benteke and Balotelli.
  23. Yes, please. Explosive, fast, impressive balance, can get past a man with his tight control and a tidy passer. Good overall technique and a strong finisher. Right type of striker to compliment the current options. Great age as well as he just turned 25. * Fit as well btw. Plays most games in a season. Unproven at the highest level of course but 63 league goals in the past three seasons is very impressive. His total can not compared with the likes of Ibra and Cavani as he did not enjoy anything close to the support they received as the most dominant team in France by far. Under the right guidance and when played to his strengths he could become world-class. I think he has it in him. I'd love to see Costa and Laca up top in the system Conte apparently wants to employ. If you believe Lyon's president he's extremely expensive though. Think I read 80 mil (Euro) a while back, Scare tactics of course but he won't be cheap.
  24. Interesting... Ter Stegen/Bravo Danilo - Varane - Umtiti - Digne/Coentrao Roberto - Gomes Turan - James - Isco Morata You could stick Jese up top but he's not a #9. Funny how both Real and Barca don't have a (genuine) back-up striker. Edit: Forgot about the return of Morata. Not a bad team.
