That statement is unfair. Michy is a diamond. Much better than e.g. Lukaku. He is a real fighter on the pitch and he is more skilled than Lukaku. Of course, he is young and will need some time to adapt to the PL. But I do not doubt he will succeed under the coaching of Conte. Very good transfer according to me. If we can also get Kante and Koulibaly, let me dream, our team will be a war machine.

Kante is an outstanding player. He proved it at Leicester and also with France during the Euro championship. I very much hope that deal could be finalized. It would be all thanks to our new manager Conte who also managed to convince Michy to sign for us. We are coming back and stronger than ever before! Come on Chelsea!

"Bamford was on fire and Batshuayi was not heard of". My perspective is different: Batshuayi was on fire and Bambord was never heard of. Michy was on fire with Standard de Liège in Belgium and with Marseille in France. Michy is also selected as first striker in the Belgian squad for the quarter final of the Euro championship, along with Hazard, De Bruyne, Naingolan, and the likes. Michy is more skilled and talented by far than Lukaku and we got it for half the price. But please do not estimate him on today's match. "these are potentials and not world class players who are actually ready ... And when it comes to potentials we got ample of those in our backyard" Michy is indeed not yet a world class player. He needs a world class coach to become a world class player. Conte will make it. You claim that we do have 'ample of those in our backyard". I fully disagree. Michy is outstanding. Bramfort or whatever his name and all the likes are just peanuts as compared to Michy. Recall also that there are very few top strikers available on the market. In this case, our Board made the correct decision, imo. Michy will destroy our opponents under the coaching of Conte. Best news for long.

33 million is a fair price for Batshuayi. I know the guy since he was playing for Anderlecht, he was aged 16 or so. Then, he moved to Standard de Liège, and eventually joined last year Olympique de Marseille, where he scored about 23 goals, although they ended 15th in the league. Michy is really good. He is meeting our top quality standards. And he is still young (22). Although not experienced enough at top level of course. He has yet to lean a lot. But a really good transfer for us, according to me. He is a real fighter on the pitch and very efficient. Chelsea got it right this time. He can easily be qualified as our first striker on the pitch. Ideally I would prefer him to be assisted by Diego. This time, do not shout at Chelsea management team. You won't be disappointed by Michy. And we haven't pay this ridiculous amount of money Everton was asking for a player that is by far inferior to Michy: Lukaku. Well done Chelsea. It all bodes well for the remaining of the transfer window! Believe me: Michy is outstandign!

^^ Eduardo Inda reports on his blog that an agreement has been found with Real Madrid for 32 million.

We have reached the bottom. I take it as a good news. We can only move up now. Massive clean-up is needed.

He was not mis-quoted. I watched the interview, I mean the full interview (not the extracts reported here). He was clear that he prefers to play with the Belgian defense. Besides, when you are a Chelsea player and asked the question 'Would you be prepared to leave Chelsea', I would expect the guy to answer 'No' and not 'I do not know'.
-
Yes he did say that he prefers to play with Belgium defence. It was during the life tv show 'La Tribune'. I would reply that I prefer Czech than Courteois. The guy has a so poor decision-making this season.

Look at the facts: we have been outclassed by PSG, we are now in the middle of PL table while we have been struggling against relegation most of the season, we are still currently being outplayed by the likes of Stoke or Everton, etc. Whoever the manager, we have to face the evidence that this squad is of average to low quality as reflected by our position in the PL and our results against top European clubs. Where are the new Terry, Makelele, Lampard, Ballack, Drogba? Sad but true. It does not bode well for next season: top players won't sign for Chelseas without CL. You all know, once you are out of the CL, it is very difficult to come back. On the other hand, it is maybe the opportunity for a large revamp.
-
To me, there are two players in our squad who are at the level of the CL: Costa and Willian. Are the signings of Falcao and Pato related to money laundering or so? I hope not but it is very suspicious.
-
L'Equipe: "Apart from Costa, few players at Chelsea could have scored a goal against PSG. Neither Fabregas ... and even less so Hazard, more interested in exchanging hsi shirt with Di Maria at half time than by his performance on the pitch'
-
We have been largely outclassed during this first half. PSG would deserve to go through.
-
Courtois is over-rated. Oscar should leave. Beautiful goal from Traoré. Guys is doing a very good job. It is obvious the players had the game against PSG in their minds. It will be difficult. Fingers crossed.
-
Fab and Pedro have been excellent. To me Fab is MoTM. Remind however that we have been playing against team B of Manchester City.
-
1. Hazard a disappointment once again. He must be sold. In any case, he does not want to play for Chelsea any more. On Monday, he said he would not refuse an offer from PSG or Real. He is convinced he is the new Messi. Let him go. Good riddance. 2. Fabregas and Pedro: useless, so useless. We only have 2 good attacking players: Willian and Costa.

The proposed new stadium is just awesome. I very much like quality of the materials, the bricks and the arcades, the views on the pitch, the roof (in comparison: poor Liverpool fans). This stadium will not only be fantastic for the fans, it is also a real piece of architecture on its own. Very different from the other stadium that have been built in Europe. Here it is all about quality. And a stadium designed for real football fans. Having said that, has the planning application been approved yet or not? In which case, when can we expect a decision? And what is the timeline for building this stadium?
-
The guy is good ... but he is playing in a very poor championship - when he is not on the bench. There is no need for Chelsea to buy this player: we have the same quality kind of players in-house.
-
Youri cannot be considered as a potential future Chelsea player. He is good at Anderlecht - when he is playing. But the PL in Belgium is the equivalent of the Championship in England. Be serious.
-
It is now 4-0, and 2 goals from Pedro. It is good for his confidence. Even if the opponent is very weak. He will improve.
-
This team lacks quality. Our position in the league table reflects the real quality of that squad. Fabregas is not Lampard, Matic is not Ballack. Etc. Only a couple of players have the level to play at Chelsea: Courtois, Hazard, Willian, Costa, Azpi and Zouma maybe. Oscar, Matic, Fabregas, Pedro, Mikel, Ivanovic, should not play for Chelsea. We would need to spend big to attract quality players. Unfortunately, it will be difficult because we will not qualify for the CL. Quite the opposite I am afraid: Hazard will leave for Real. Next few years do not bode well.
-
Our squad is strong enough. No need to splash money.
-
Let him go. He is totally useless.
-
Terry will turn 36 next year. It is time for Chelsea to renew its squad. Good decision.
-
The guy is young, tall and strong. American players have this fighting spirit I so much appreciate. They are warriors on the pitch. They never surrender. They are highly disciplined. Look at what Jurgen Klinsmann is achieving with his squad. And if the guy eventually succeeds at the Bridge, it will open up the US market to Chelsea, with potentially millions of additional fans, hence revenues. Of course, the guy will have to learn and the first few months will be very tough - maybe he will be loaned out in the summer. But he is definitely the kind of guy I want to see playing for Chelsea. Give him a chance.
-
Terry messed up on the first goal - nice own goal btw. Ivanovic did not move at all on the third goal. He is as useful as Stephen Hawking as someone else said on this forum.
