  1. Maybe I'm getting confused from Last season, but didn't we play poor vs West Ham and then scored late in the game? Not sure if it was that was last season or Conte's first season, but that game was certainly looking a bit shaky and was a game I thought was the start of our performances stagnating.
  2. You have to remember we will have no Moses, Kante, Hazard, Batshuayi, Giroud, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, so the team will be pretty shallow. If Sarri gives the squad 45 mins each, we can't expect a guaranteed win. However, of course it's great to get off to a good start with a win.
  3. We looked awful at the start of that season. I genuinely thought (and many others did too, including the media) that we were going to end up in another bad situation. I remember the media expecting Conte to be sacked haha. It was a fantastic turnaround.
  4. Well it's more impressive from Mount then, considering he doesn't play for the best team in the league. He got 14 goals and 9 assists and is 19 years old in a new league. Beast.
  5. So people hype up this lad, but Mason Mount puts up almost similar stats from midfield in the same league, as a less offensive player and people say "it's only the Dutch league" you gotta laugh at certain people.
  6. He's been playing for Juventus, so if he does hoof the ball out, then it's no surprise. It's not like Allegri sets his team up in the mould of Pep or Sarri. It's like us under Conte or Mourinho, if you don't have the players around you who are comfortable on the ball or in possession, or in a system which encourages players to play that way, you could have the best ball playing CB ever and he would still hoof the ball under pressure.
  7. NVM, he's 31?! I thought he was about 25. May as well go in for Keylor Navas if that's the case. At least with Donnarumma he's got many years left, but will want big wages.
  8. I don't see any other team in top five, barring City and Liverpool, who have made as good a signing as Jorginho this summer yet. Man Utd haven't. Arsenal haven't. Spurs certainly haven't. I honestly believe Man Utd and Spurs will be two teams who won't perform as well this coming season. It's just a prediction though, nobody can 100% be certain of anything. Nobody would have predicted Leicester won the league, nobody would have predicted Conte's Chelsea won the league over Pep and Mourinho, but this is what happens. We can try make predictions all we want, but ultimately nobody really knows.
  9. Any idea if this will be shown on TV in UK?
  10. I reckon Courtois will sign a new contract, same wages, but Chelsea will say to him they will let him go next summer but for a fee. That way they get money for him, but they won't ask for silly money as they know he would like to go back to Spain. Real Madrid buy him next summer for around £50-60m and we reinvest into another keeper.
  11. Utter tripe. We just signed one of the best midfielders in the world, beating Man City to his signature. If anybody believes that nonsense, they're very naive. The Liverpool who have done nothing of note, apart from getting to a CL final and being beaten by one of the poorest Real Madrid sides in years.
  12. If this was a Conte or Mourinho signing I wouldn't have much faith, but under Sarri I think flair players can have fun with it and show their true potential. The fact he's left footed too is a bonus. Highlights don't show the full picture, but he's very young so maybe. I still think Hudson-Odoi is a cut above most players at u20 level, and could get into our squad next season.
  13. He is constantly being played out wide. He isn't a wide player. Southgate nor Hodgson have figured this out yet. Mourinho tried moulding him into a defensive player (which negates his offensive ability) and Conte tried to make him a striker (HA!) utter madness no coach has played him centrally in a midfield three.
  14. Obviously something the top clubs didn't like about him. I've never watched him, but some people say he isn't as fantastic as made out to be.
  15. If he goes to West Ham or Fulham, obviously can't be that good as everyone makes out.
  16. I mean I've been asking myself whether it's the worst thing in the world if Conte stays. I genuinely don't know at the moment.
  17. I have thought lately that if things are that difficult it would be better for him to sell the club. I don't want him to sell up, but the Stadium plans have halted, we have pulled back on signing top players since Mourinho's return, and he's not allowed in the country to run the club.
  18. Terrible. I don't see us improving next season if he stays.
  19. Yeah. Kante and Griezmann been the stand outs from that France size. Giroud has disappointed, Pogba has been underwhelming. Mbappe is Mbappe, still raw. The rest of the team has been meh.
  20. Means naff all if they don't win anything. How much longer will their fans, the media and Klopp continue to blab on about them being underdogs or paupers in the market?
  21. We keep hearing Liverpool are a threat and only need this player or that player. We shall see next season, but to talk as if they're world beaters because they have signed some decent players is silly. For all we know, they could finish 4th or 5th next season. You can't predict anything.
  22. Fabinho isn't better than what we have, so not sure why the obsession with him. Fekir is still an unknown quantity. The jury is still out. Of course clubs will get stronger, you don't expect Liverpool to stand still and not strengten, do you? Considering they still needed to replace Coutinho and have the money available to do so.
  23. God, anybody would think Liverpool are signing prime Ronaldo or Messi the way people carry on. He's coming to a competitive league now, we shall see how well he does.
