I think its a case of park the bus and wait for an opening. Don't get caught out. It might not be pretty but we need a solid defence on this one. Sit Fab deep, and hope he can get Costa on the end of a few nice balls over the top.
-
Its between Costa and Matic for me. I feel like we miss Matic the most when he doesn't play, though.
-
Someone photoshopped gerard's slip onto the TV in the background, and I thought it was real for a good few minutes. Like they have that moment on replay on every TV in the building...
-
It might have only been 15 minutes, but what I got from watching him - He's quick and intelligent and has good movement off the ball. Excited to see what's to come.
-
I always had a soft spot for Oscar, but if he doesn't show improvements and soon, I think he needs to be gone this summer. Could pick up a pretty penny.
-
Willian MOTM. Only player that looked like he wanted it for the entire time he was on the pitch. Cuadrado has made things interesting. Despite the fact Zouma deserved to keep a run of games, Cahill actually was pretty solid today. We all love Drogba, but I'm starting to think he's past it. Remy to start against Everton.
-
Jesus Christ! That was awful.
-
I meant to all the defeatists that are worrying about Villa.
-
Oh come on, have a little faith.

Well its not just other parts of the globe. Its here. And away tickets are hard to come by. If Chelsea play away at 3, less chance of watching the game at all. I mean we can all stream a foreign broadcast, but we can't go down the pub and watch it. Whereas a home game at 3, I'm much more likely to be able to attend.
-
Is it not anything to do with the fact they don't broadcast 3pm games?
-
Best of luck to him. Looking forward to seeing Cuadrado in action though.

I'm just worried about Aguero sneaking up with a bunch of penalties...
-
I hope it doesn't affect his chances of winning the golden boot...
-
We survived without him last season. It's not the end of the world. Rather he had time to recover fully, than risk further injury anyway. I'm more bothered about Costa, but I want to see Remy in the central role over Drogba.
-
I just feel like its a tactically bad decision to play with no holding midfielder, while you're still in the lead. I'd have put Ake on over Cesc when Mikel had to come off. And saying there was no difference to the way we have played all season isn't necessarily a good thing. Same tactics doesn't mean same result. All teams are different. You have to approach the game differently sometimes. And maybe playing the same tactics all the time is what makes us easy to read. It seems that teams are becoming well aware of our weaknesses.
-
It might be pipe dreams, but - He has a great relationship with Mourinho. He will want to build up his partnership with Zouma, with an eye on the Euros... One can hope...
-
Oh yeah, and I was really hoping Ake would feature. If you're gunna rotate [and lets be honest we had to!], I'd comfortably put my trust in him.
-
Ah, yeah, I get what you're saying. I guess I just include selection and tactics together. In that its a stupid tactic to play an injured striker in the central role, if at all. Its a stupid tactic to play inexperienced defenders with Cahill leading the line. And maybe I'm wrong, but I'm a fan of the bus when it does the job. I'd have been ecstatic if we'd held the lead, and won on a day where so many other top teams went out. Beautiful football is nice (I mean look at the Swansea game ), but 'negative' football is sometimes necessary.

I was there. I don't think you can look at the goals and describe the rest of the game. I've already posted, but personally I think Drogba should have never been on the field. He was limping from the first whistle. Visibly in pain for a lot of the first half (seemed alright in the second). Every touch he had was awful. Attempting on goal at 40 yds out, without any power. Soft passes. Passes to nobody. And he was on for the full 90! Madness. Remy should have been in the centre. I liked a lot of his work on the ball, but out on the left wing it was wasted, there was never any real threat in the box. Cahills goal was lovely, but his game was not. I've had enough of him backing off of players. We were passing around the ball too much (and badly at that), when we should have been dribbling around them. Easier said than done, they're not all Hazards, but we should be bossing one-on-ones. We should have utilised the bus at 2-0 up, even if its not pretty. Anyway, thats my two pence. Peace and love.
-
I dunno, I think some of this is on Mourinho. Fielded the wrong team. Didn't ask them to sit behind the ball at 2-0 up. Defensive shocker, yes, individual awful performances, yes, but Mourinho is no innocent.
-
Depends how often you plan to go. Of course we'd all love to go to every game. I don't see it as a huge expense if I can see three/four games a year. If it was cheaper the struggle to get tickets would just be insane. We need a bigger stadium for cheaper tickets. And for me its only £20 return on the coach.
-
Aha! I never even noticed. Rather be stood somewhere decent.
