TBH i dont think we have the squad depth to win the treble / double this year. Schurrle didnt progress as we all hoped - that mysterious ailment really did him in. Rami, Mikel were injured in the early - mid part of the season. Only three CBs, three experienced full backs. Hazard is this generation's Lampard I think, in that he will play every game as much as possible.

I take it that he didnt have a good game in such a massive game against RM? (I didnt watch the game)

TBH, I wanna see him in the BPL. It's the league I follow the closest and I want to watch the best players compete. Plus it will settle all this "he's in a lower tier league" nonsense / debate. I was a tad upset when Ronaldo left for Madrid.

My theory about why Jose didnt rotate much this year is that during the early parts of the campaign, all our rivals were dropping points left and right. And we were in such good form. At that point (...well up to now) it became a RACE for points rather than a MARATHON. And we see the fruit of it right now... The first to 84 points wins the trophy.

Was listening to the chelsea football fancast. They mentioned that there is a rumor going around that remy had a falling out with jose... But the guys were quick to dismiss it straightaway.

Re-watching the game with calm nerves makes me more appreciative of the tactics. In a perfect world we want to be the champs and at the same time dominate the opponent with free flowing passes. But it all comes down to risk and reward. Chelsea went into the game with the objective of preventing Man U from getting the full 3 points, simple as that.

Yeah on second thought agree that Hazard would be a regular during that era. Agree with Iva over PF. Not sure about Azpi over Gallas, i think you can toss a coin for that. I was thinking more of Lampard Makelele Essien as the CMs. Which i wouldnt touch TBH. Agree to disagree about the CF. 2005 Drogba over Costa for me.

Totally agree. Out of the current squad, I think only Hazard will start over anybody ahead of the 2005 Chelsea squad. Perhaps over Duff, but im not even 100% sure.
