The same was said of Maresca.
These guys are dumb with the long term nonsense.

Again - Maresca sets up well against big teams but losing to these smaller teams is unacceptable.
I get it is fun to blame management and the board, and people think they aren't about winning - couldn't be further from the truth. Look at what this ownership did with the Dodgers in the MLB. They will spend. They know winning brings even more money and eyes - and they have no problem doing it.
Management want Tosin played? Yeah, I highly doubt that. I think it is a lash out for not having more quality back ups and I get it. But its self sabotage to keep making the same selection of a certain player when there is an obvious better option - simply to prove a point.

It's always been the Good,The Bad and The Ugly with Maresca.
Hiddink was probably the most talented coach we had because of his vast variety of coaching job experience he had he could adjust.most are stuck in their ways and have limitations in tactics, formations etc..
Maresca got credit for winning with youngsters in the Conference but this year he's holding youngsters back.the slow build up from the back even if we didn't have some of the worst short range passing defenders in the league I hate it.it's like he presumes everyone outside the very top sides is going to park the bus on us and must draw the bus out but when they don't park it,the tactic only causes us harm but he doesn't adjust.against better sides he uses the tactics we should use with every opponent.
Some players make mistakes time after time and keep getting selected whilst others more talented have a mistake or two or even have a good game and they get put on the shelf for 3 to 12 weeks.
Heavy rotation is way too much.he's picked the best available team maybe once every 5 or 6.
Maresca's recent comments are far from the first time he's made self defeating comments in interviews.
The win ratio on paper looks pretty good.that is the only good.which could say should be the only thing that matters but I don't see us improving to challenge for league titles again under Maresca.he's just too prone to self sabotage.

🔴Enzo Maresca feels he has outperformed other managers who have faced a rebuilding job when joining a major Premier League force, such as Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp previously at Liverpool, and even Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

a list of managers I would accept (not listing ones who would never come now due to being all good at their current clubs, so no Pep, no Luis Enrique, no Hansi Flick, no Tuchel, no Lionel Scaloni, no Carlo Ancelotti, no Diego Simeone, no Julian Nagelsmann, no Vincent Kompany, plus (do not want either) no Arteta, no Conte, etc)

    in no true order:
Klopp (almost impossible, doubt he would come here)
Zidane (pretty much impossible, plus he refuses to learn English, he waiting to take over the French national team)
    Simone Inzaghi
    Unai Emery
    Cesc Fabregas
Xabi Alonso (IF Real sack him, I still really rate him)
    Oliver Glasner
    Abel Ferreira
    Andoni Iraola
    on edit: Xavi

    not yet completely sold on:
    Roberto De Zerbi
    Liam Rosenior
    Marco Silva
    Fabian Hürzeler
    Thiago Motta

    wild cards:
    Lamps
Didier Deschamps (may well retire after the World Cup)

BREAKING: Enzo Maresca has an internal issue at Chelsea which prompted his post-match comments about not feeling supported.
It has been made clear to Enzo Maresca that Chelsea's youth-led model WILL NOT dramatically change because it is backed by the hierarchy and starting to bear fruits.
Co-owner Behdad Eghbali along with sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley believe the project is starting to pay off.
And Chelsea have doubled down on their investment in youth by adding highly-rated recruitment expert Dave Fallows to work across football development.

People celebrating this better think twice. It was the same with Poch. Obviously board doesn't like a manager with an opinion which is every top manager in the world.
Also shows that both Poch and now Enzo are not yes man as labeled by fans.

Clear tensions between club and Enzo Maresca
There's been a host of things that have gone on - insiders on 'last 48 hours' and more...
    https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/sources-clear-tensions-between-club

It’s rarely going to be plain sailing between any club and a manager, and with Enzo Maresca and the Chelsea board room, it’s certainly been far from it lately.
You will remember that around a year ago, we started getting reports from SPTC Sources that things were not all that rosy. A handful of the players had been unhappy and not convinced by Maresca’s tactics, and the board were also unhappy with how things were going on the pitch. It led to pressure on the manager and the need for immediate improvements. Those improvements came and the noise died down.
On the player side, to be fair, I’ve not heard anything since then on them feeling discontent with the manager. There hasn’t been any fallouts or anything like that - I’ve not heard of any players causing issues or the manager throwing his weight around, I believe it’s all stayed professional and good enough relations. But what happened a year ago still plays on my mind there.
On Maresca’s side, he’s felt the pressure a number of times. He’s asked for certain things or certain types of players in the market, and feels he has not been given them. That caused a strain at the end of last season.
Obviously we won the Club World Cup and the Conference League, and everything seemed fine again.
But during this recent slump, the tensions have come back out, and SPTC Sources have heard of clear tensions in the last few weeks.
Maresca’s comments yesterday, although this has to be more my opinion rather than sourced info because I’ve not heard this yet directly, are aimed at the board and not the fans. I am sure that Maresca will attempt to sweep up his comments and say he didn’t aim them at the club, or there will be some briefings saying it was a mis-translation due to English not being his first language, or some other excuse. But based on other things I’ve heard and my own opinion, I have no doubts that these comments are aimed at the board.
    Maresca said:
‘The last 48 hours have been the worst 48 hours since I joined the club because many people didn’t support us.
‘So I’m very happy for Malo, that the effort from Malo and from the rest show that they are all there and they want to help this club.’
Asked to clarify his statement, Maresca repeated: ‘Worst 48 hours since I joined the club because people didn’t support me and the team.’ He added: ‘I love the fans and we are very happy with the fans.’
    What we have heard
From two of our top SPTC Sources, there are absolutely issues between Maresca and the board.
Last season, as we reported at the time, Maresca had thought about walking due to tensions between him and the board and him not getting backed in the market. I honestly thought he would walk and I do still feel this could happen. He’s struggled with the pressure and once again, is believing he is not receiving enough support from the club.
There’s been a feeling amongst the Chelsea hierarchy that we have regressed from last season with some of the performances. Certain figures have become a bit ‘fed up’ after recent form, and the blame has been placed on the manager for this.
Some high up at the club believe Maresca has been ‘playing too safe’ and hasn’t been using his squad properly. People like Jorrel Hato has hardly played, and Estevao is not being used as much as some believe he should be. Playing players ‘out of position’ was also mentioned to me as a gripe. In-game management is another thing I heard about. His tactics overall have been questioned.
I got given all of this info on Thursday afternoon, and now these comments from Maresca. So, putting two and two together here, I imagine that a lot of this stuff has been communicated to Maresca ‘in the last 48 hours’ and that is what he is snapping back about.
It’s not a good situation that he has now gone public with this, but I expect the club will do their best now to sweep this mess up with briefings and playing it all down.
However, I can only see this going one way the next time we lose some games. Chelsea have been reluctant to make a managerial change midway through the season, but some of the reports of them having contingency plans in terms of looking at other managers, has always been true. They have a long list of managers that they admire, and all the names that you hear such as Liam Rosenior, Cesc Fabregas, Andoni Iraola, Oliver Glasner, and many more, are all on the manager shortlist should they decide to make a change. If it is midseason, due to them pulling the trigger or Maresca having enough and walking away, then I’d suspect an interim would come in until the summer.
However, I must reiterate that the club do not want to make any changes right now and are continuing with Maresca, unless more drama ensues and both parties become even more fed up. Anything can happen.
These situations usually only end up going one way, whether that’s anytime soon or not we will have to wait and see.

Interesting presser after game. Worst 48 hrs of his time at the club so he reckons as people didn’t show him & the team support 😂
Ironic, we finally get a win after 4 or 5 games without one & he comes out with that. Now everyone is talking about his presser & what he could’ve meant as opposed to the win. The guy is an absolute bellend, cannot wait to see the back of him.
Moaning about not playing without players due to injuries & suspensions, injuries happen but he can easily stress to the player’s about their discipline record - we had countless red cards on the trot at one point and he said it wasn’t a problem.
Seems he wants to be applauded for winning the Club World Cup & Conference League as if they were massive achievements but then he wants to be judged as if he is rebuilding the team. Make your mind up - cannot have it both ways.

you are forgetting the inbound (this coming summer, we already bought him and then loaned him back) Mamadou Sarr (from Strasbourg and who is a replacement for Disasi and hopefully the SHIT OF SHITTERS Tosin)
    BUT
    Sarr is another right-footed RCB
same for the returning-from-loan Aarón Anselmino (unless cheap AF Dortmund meet our price, which is unlikely)

we have only 2 lefty CBs (plus the hybrid lefty teen Hato, who is 75 per cent a LB, not so much a LCB)
one is injured and out for the season (probably) Colwill (and NO guarantees on how bad the injury has perma fucked him (hopefully not at all)
    and then the TURGID Badiashile

See this is what really fucking gets to me, Maresca yesterday talked about how Palmer was still not perfect and he was touch and go, yet Estevao is sat there and still couldn't get a start midweek or today
If Estevao was shaking his head midweek he will be fucking fuming not being selected today

Just wanted to say sorry about the erratic times of posting game threads. The last two weeks I have been having a lot of testing done for my second go around with cancer. An added bonus of a 7mm mass in my left lung. So far it is looking like medication and possible chemo to reduce the mass. It has been inconvenient to say the least.

Sporting will not drop down from Ousmane Diomande's 80m euro (£70.3m) release clause this summer
also, he is a CB for Cote d'Ivoire, so he will miss a lot of games (our EPL games) playing for them over the years IF we did buy him

he wants at least £270K PW in salary/add-ons for 5 years plus a £25m or more signing bonus (as he would come on a free)
that is at least £95.2m in toto
    or
to look at it how we do
that is over £19m per season spread out over 5 years
plus he turns 28yo in around 10 months
and yes, he has rebounded (so far) this year, but he had back to back meh seasons before this
and finally he is a right-footed RCB, when we desperately need a lefty as Colwill will be coming off a massive injury and Badi, our only other lefty true CB, is shite (Hato is more of a LB than a CB)
assuming we are not transfer banned, I still do not see us going for him

I was ok and happy Maresca seemed to be coming right but he only flatters to deceive and  it quite seemingly appears thats not going to  change which is unacceptable for Chelsea as a club and a team and the huge fan base world wide. Therefore as much as I wanted Maresca to succeed being half Italian myself it's time to go or the alternative is a mid table finish or even lower as the points separating all the clubs is very minute, I mean even United for one team who are having a bad season according to their fans have the same points as us and will probably finish ahead of us. NOW is the time to sort this mess out or face a very disappointing season.
