It's about time we actually played well, looked dangerous and scored some goals. It's been a while and hasn't happened much at all lately. We've done the experimentation and we've been pretty shit, now we need to just put Brighton away and play the best team in preparation for the Community Shield.

When boredom strikes...

Not sure really, i mean we played really well against PSG in the 2nd half and looked dangerous against Seattle. I think it's the personnel who are occupying the positions that are making it seem to be not working so well and the serious lack of tempo. I think Ramires, Oscar and Mikel would be great in a 3 across midfield with Hazard and Marin or Mata on the wings but i'm not sure if Mata and Hazard want to be so far out wide throughout matches. The 4-2-3-1 gives them more freedom and more areas of the pitch to do what they do. I think just keep the 4-2-3-1 and develop it over time when we have everyone fit. If we use 4-3-3, we should use it more as a 4-3-2-1 and give the '2' more freedom. That would work great for me. Judge the 4-2-3-1 when we have everyone to chose from. It could be a brilliant formation in time as we have the players for it.

Very poor game. I know it's a friendly and the score doesn't apparently matter as it's for fitness and testing things out but that annoyed me a lot. We go to the USA to show off our team, Chelsea FC, big European giants, European champions, representing the Premier League and coming to show the American's what a real team is like. I don't think we've gained anything from this tour at all. We've been good in spells but surely we're supposed to be getting confidence, winning games and feeling good about ourselves. What was that shit? We've lost 2, drawn 1 and won 1 and the game we won was only good for 20 minutes. There was no urgency at all yesterday, against let's be honest, a very, hugely poor AC Milan team that we should've beat comfortably. Forget their name and history, this is a shadow of previous years teams from them. I don't know what the first half was all about, i can barely even remember it it was so bad. We seem to up the tempo a bit in the 2nd half, Hazard had a good game to be honest, our best player by some distance for me but when we get in good areas we can't score, we don't even look threatening. Plus points were that Torres came back and got some game time, looked pretty fit and sharp, Mikel was good, Hazard looked excellent at times and Sam Hutchinson is definitely fine, he was very good. He can attack well too, he should be our 2nd choice RB. I think he's benefited the most from this pre season and has proven that he can do the job. Robbie annoyed me a bit tho because playing Meireles as a CAM was so pointless and bringing Malouda is also pointless. Neither are going to play much next season and Meireles certainly wont do anything as a CAM, he lacks almost every quality for that position. Feel sorry for Kakuta too because it wouldn't have hurt throwing him in in this game. As someone who is quick, skillful and suited for that position, as well as really needing to show a good performance, leaving him out for a Malouda or a Meireles is criminal. Yes, his Chelsea career is basically over but at least give him one last run out. There's much more to gain doing that than putting Meireles or Malouda on the pitch. We looked good at times, first 10 minutes against Seattle and the 2nd half against PSG was the best period of play throughout the tour but the lack of a cutting edge seems a bit worrying as well as the defence when it's not at full strength. We've been cut open a lot when our top defenders have been taken off but that's mainly down to having no LB's i suppose, having Ferreira at LB isn't really gonna be great. Back to England we go, maybe can batter Brighton as they are about 3 levels behind who we have faced, i don't know how that Brighton team would be able to cope with Hazard, Marin, Torres etc if they all play well. Disappointed with the US Tour tho, i expect to see us win games and show what we can do. Last season, Man Utd went to the USA. They beat Seattle 7-0 then beat the MLS all stars 5-2. That's what you should be doing when you go to the USA. Show how good you are and show off so you never get forgotten. The yanks must think we're pretty shite. Anyway, Roll on Brighton and let the real stuff begin.

Friendly or not, that is one of the worst halves of football i have ever seen.
-
The l Makes more sense. Maybe he's getting fed up of the 4-2-3-1 like i am.
-
Fuck sake Robbie, you have Kakuta and de Bruyne who are trying to make a name for themselves and you're playing Meireles as a LAM, that makes absolutely no sense. Hmm ok.
-
To be honest, i hope we don't concede and be solid at the back because that's been the worst point about each game thus far. We look good with the ball and look good going through the transition of defence to attack but defensively we've been poor. We've opened up too easy. Hopefully this is the kind of game that will suit us. Milan are going through a bit of a dodgy period, completely the opposite of us. I'm really confident of us winning this game.

Chelsea TV commentary is shite. It's on ESPN 2 if anyone has that. I for one don't. Nice it's early for a change, can finally go to bed before 2am. This game was kinda epic.

I just use gadwin print screen then upload it to photobucket.
-
Yes, but would you trust him? I'm not convinced. I'd rather Hazard went up front with Marin, Oscar and Ramires behind if we don't get anyone. Sturridge annoyed me so much at the end of last season.
-
There was a story with Wise and Di Matteo. Neil Shipperly's brother asked Di Matteo for his autograph. Robbie asked Dennis what he meant (Robbie was new, no English etc), Dennis told him to write 'Fuck Off' and he duly did lol. Jokes. Love Dennis Wise.
-
We certainly need one. If Torres gets injured, we'll be in deep shit.
-
Ollie: He fucking better. I Really hope he has a good game but as it's his first game, i doubt he'll be as sharp as ppl expect. A goal would be great, we really need him now, more than ever.
-
Marin is ok, he's German but from a yugoslav (one of em) background, he gets on ok with Brano as has been mentioned. There's not many odd ones out, even now we're linked with Cavani. I'm assuming Uruguay speak Spanish. Cech speaks loads of Languages so hes ok. I don't actually see anyone that is left out really. i also think Tevez woulda been out of City if it wasn't for his friendship with Aguero.
-
Very nearly lol. I'm just not sure on spending 6m on Carrick, he seems to not play enough. Kagawa and Carrick add up to 14.5m and i have Tevez too, will he play every game or will Balotelli be used more? 23.5m could probably be spent more wisely if truth be told. Kagawa is a gamble at 8.5. Oscar is 8.5 lol, that would be an epic risk at that price. Think i'll stick with the Jap and try n curse him.

Yep, Italy maybe better than England (not only Italy) but England have the best league in the world and the best team. Enjoy your stay, your English is fine.

Still says Thurs

It's Saturday 11:30pm. And i think we'll have our best game so far. Looking forward to it.

Even a pink, green and brown shirt (i'll try not to picture that) is worth buying. A Chelsea shirt is a Chelsea shirt. I don't buy them for what they look like, i buy them for what they are. I think it's nice that Oscar has got a major number. It signalises the intent that he will be thrown right in and be a first team regular.
-
He's actually right. Kalou was funny with the camera.
-
Only because they have tough opening games. I won't keep them on the bench. If i keep Carrick, i'll use him for like the Sunderland (H) games. Probably wont keep him tho and will most likely swap Kagawa for young as he's almost guaranteed to get over 100 points. Also it's good to have 2 GK's that will play every week so you can keep changing them to whoever has the easiest game each week.

I mentioned this in a post a couple of days ago. It helps players settle in straight away and nobody feels left out. We started doing it with the Portuguese players, then the Brazilians who speak Portuguese and then we've bought Belgians and Spaniards. It's a very good way to do things and makes the players feel at home and having friends already. We did it too with African players too. Don't just buy one, get a few. Nobody likes leaving home or having to start a fresh in a new culture but nowadays for us, players are coming in and knowing they have people to relate to. Chemistry is key to teams success. Arsenal done the same previously with French players. Ashley Cole seemed disillusioned with Arsenal as he was the only English player there. There was a picture in a paper showing Arsenal celebrating a goal and Ashley Cole just in the background walking away. Ashley came to Chelsea because he wasn't involved much in Arsenal's cliches so to speak and he came to Chelsea to link up with the 4 or 5 England internationals we had at the time.

Defo gonna watch this. I only came on here to shout COME ON CITY!! Over and out.

I like his all round game, that's what does it for me. He's a physical guy with pace and always seems to score vital goals in big games against big teams. I'm not sure why Uruguay have put him on the right because as a striker, he has many attributes. He is similar to Falcao, both awesome in the air too but i think Cavani has more pace and would be slightly cheaper. I reckon we could get him for under £35m, maybe even slightly under £30.
