There's no way Bale will be back in 2 weeks, or 3 or 4, definitely not back at 100% and comfortable. Just look at that foot. If he comes back too quick, his foot will get so fucked he'll be out for ages. So basically let's hope they rush him back. Desperate, shit, one man team. I'm guessing we could end up playing Tottenham just before the final game, it's gonna be so huge.

That's awesome and i love the David Luiz quote. Just seeing things like this make me smile.

Gotta be done i guess, Did you put Chelsea to win it before the Man Utd games? I just put £25 on a Tottenham, Arsenal double for the weekend, returns of around £95. I'm gonna do this bet very much now til the end of the season just to try n secure us Champions League football. If i win, i might also put the winnings on City to win the FA Cup. A bitter loss is always sweeter with a bit of dough. I put £100 on Barca to beat us in the 2nd leg last season, man that 2-1 woulda been sweet lol but Torres' goal still made me elated!
-
I was thinking this'll be a walk in the park but now they have Di Canio, i'm a bit nervous like i want us to beat them so much more now. He messed us up a few times in the past so i'm a tad wary now. Still think we'll win though, he can't make their players any better and if we play to full capability, we'll trash em.

I also agree Bertrand had a good game too. By far his best performance for us, hopefully he gains a bit more belief in himself especially after that mazy run in the first half. He's good with the ball and is very quick, just needs to stop being so subdued in matches and give it some. He showed yesterday why we kept hold of him.

Chelsea 3-1 Rubin Tottenham 2-2 Basel Benfica 3-1 Newcastle Fenerbahce 2-0 Lazio Plus the fact that Bale's season could be over... Could this day have gone any better? I know Benfica are better than Newcastle and we'd have more chance against Newcastle but nobody really wants a game like that in Europe, it's boring and i don't ever wish injury on great players and Bale is a great player but there's no denying it's a good thing for Gareth Bale to be well and truly fucked.
-
Great performance, deserved a lot better. The tempo wasn't exactly amazing but we seemed to use the ball well and break through many times. Yossi was very good as was Torres and Mata. Lampard was awful, very strange performance by him. All in all it's a good advantage, just a shame about that disgraceful goal by them, such a harsh decision and that was the only way they were going to score. Terrible performance by Rubin, i expected a lot better. Shoulda been 3-0 or 4-1 but 3-1 will do for now.
-
Certainly one of his better displays, very happy with him today. One thing i have no doubts about is his ability in the air. On the ground he coulda put it wide but in the air, it was only going in that goal. Fair play, Ba scored and was brilliant against Man Utd and Nando has responded. Good on him.
-
He's quality and is a proper striker. He's shown that he'll be good for us and for the price tag too it was great business. He would have a better strike rate if he played more and stayed on too. He had a bad game against West Ham and suddenly he was shit, no better than Torres and a crap signing. Demba Ba has a lot of qualities. Glad he can rest now and unleash on Di Canio.

So refreshing watching the UCL without pressure, with no English teams in it that you hate so much and want to see lose so badly that you can't enjoy the games properly.
-
Maddest thing i've ever heard. Unbelievable.

No matter how bad our seasons can get, we always get to Wembley. 3 days after the away game in Moscow though? Not great. I know Rubin are a very fine team but we need to beat them 3-0 at home and try our very best to kill it in 1 game.
-
The picture of Ba kissing the ground is funny, it's like Hazard and Oscar are trying to stop him. "Don't eat that grass, it's poisonous!" We've scored 10 goals against Man Utd this season... still 1 game to go
-
Played well and deserved to win. They coulda scored a couple and we coulda scored more also. Better team won and i'm glad even they know that. So proud that this team continually fights for everything available. Was thinking about it a lot today and maybe i was harsh the other day because we do fight for everything. Arsenal always qualify for the top 4, that's because they basically sacrifice all the trophies for it. If we did it, we'd always come in the top 3 but the best teams fight for everything and the best teams win trophies. The club and the players have shown a lot of desire and i salute them for that. Just wish our fringe players were a bit more ready to step in than they have been recently, especially last Saturday. I love this team and whatever the outcome is for the season, at least they've given everything.

Mourinho's record against Fergie makes me smile more.
-
We've done great in the last decade yes, but with stability we would've done even better and dominated English football like Man Utd have done. That's my opinion. We'll never know just how good we could've been. It's been a great ride though.

Gonna watch the highlights on ITV in a min. I was at work, i checked my phone just twice. First when the 2nd half was under way, about 50 mins and saw when we were 1-0 up. I was so nervous knowing we were 1-0 up and working but i tried to shut it out. I then very nervously checked the score at 2:30 and when it said F/T 1-0 i was in the best mood ever, it was a feeling i've never really had at work lol. Seen the goal and the save and both were immense. What a huge win, a win that had to happen after what happened on Saturday. Back at Wembley, such a great feeling. Tough, TOUGH game though but we've been here plenty of times recently. Its on! Full highlights on ITV NOW!

Villa were ok, they played better than they did against QPR but just fell away a bit. If they play like that for the rest of the season, they'll be fine.
-
Ivanovic was at fault for the first goal yesterday by completely ignoring Rodriguez's run in behind him but all in all they did ok. There was obviously nothing they could do about the FK, Cech practically gave Lambert the whole goal to aim for. Rubbish goalkeeping. I do feel a lot more comfortable when Luiz plays, wherever he plays and i never thought i'd say that. We missed Luiz yesterday, i love the way he drives the team. Future captain imo.
-
The only talent he showed yesterday was how to go invisible in front of over 20,000 people. He should work with Dynamo.
-
We need to win 6 out of the 8. Whatever happens, at least it's exciting and it's what the neutrals love. It's what football needs, battles like these. And secretly, deep down, we love it really.

I really like this Villa team. If they stay up, they have the makings of a great future. They have the perfect manager and a lot of very talented young players, which their youth team is still producing now. Even if they go down, if they keep everything they can benefit like Newcastle did. Newcastle lost a few players when they went down but they kept a very good core. Bright future for this Villa side. If they stay up, i'll predict a top 10 finish for them next season. Their players have gained priceless experience this season.
-
If we do fail to make top 4, and tbh it is getting increasingly likely, then we must focus purely on the league next season. Play the kids in the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League. Forget them cups for a season entirely. Focus purely and solely on a title challenge and make 10000% sure that we make the top 4 next season. We may be ok for one season but we can't make a habit of it.
-
I think we'll win, i really do but see the thing is, these games are only really important if you win the competition. We can win and then City could beat us then it suddenly means nothing and says that we wasted a game and shoulda played full strength against Southampton. If we're gonna rest 7 players yesterday because of Mondays game, we have to win Mondays game, it's as simple as that. Losing tomorrow defeats the whole object of what happened yesterday. We'll come out strong tomorrow i'm sure of it with a high tempo but if we lose it wont be a disaster because we've won it 4 times in 6 years and we can then take a couple of games away and concentrate on the league more. Top 4 is priority this season!! I am in 2 minds though because i love to see us win trophies, it's a great feeling and day out but do i want to see Rafa win us trophies? And be in the pictures and for us to improve his CV? I'm not really so sure. It was like us saying did we really want Avram Grant to be the manager to win us our first European Cup? Thank fuck it was someone like Roberto Di Matteo.

There's no point going backwards just to go forwards when we can qualify for the UCL this season and go forwards straight away earlier. I know Tottenham and Arsenal fans personally and i don't want to listen to their shit. I as a fan want what's best for me too and after being the first Champions League winners to be eliminated in the group phase, to then not qualify would be bad for the club. We'll then get another manager to sack after a year who nobody really knows or is sure about. I understand all of the points, i really do but with the players we have and the money we have spent since 2003, we should never be coming 5th or lower. Yes we'd like to recover like Bayern did but there's no guarantee of that.
