As well ask work rate, so far this season he had improved his positioning too. Allowing him to drop deep for both Matic and Fabregas
-
But it wasn't our pressing that was the problem, it was the lack of defensive discipline. He would have been better than Ramires because he holds his position better when the team aren't pressing and trying to control space. Ramires' poor positioning (as well as Matic's) caused the first two goals. Ramires was in Man's land and Matic was trying to press at the wrong times. We don't have to have the lion's share if the possession, but just like last year against Everton when they have the ball we need to be disciplined and control the space which we sucked at Saturday
-
but did want a game like Everton? Our midfield was overrun, the one thing you could traditionally count on not happening in the last 10 years. The way I see it, with Ramires we have done who literally can jog last someone. Perfect for an open game. Tactically one if the worst in our squad. Cannot put his foot on the ball and slow down when needed. We saw both sided if Ramires. With Oscar you have more control and solidity. Plus, is willian not as good as Ramires in such games? He couldn't be because the headless chicken literally thought he was Rambo
-
I think for us to become more balanced as a team he needs Oscar by him. Way to slow against Everton, he just can't press like he used to. Ramires seemed like a headless chicken so Osvar is probably the best for balance
-
Hazard because he is the most complete in terns of offering both attacking and defensive qualities. Can play in more positions. Depending in how he does, Atsu may do so first. Regardless, do people really think that IF ( big IF) mourinho wanted Reus he wouldn't because we already have enough senior players who wouldn't be happier as back ups? Hello!!!! Petr Cech anybody? If it improves us, and he would, we will do it. Why buy modric at Madrid when Alonso and Khedira were playing so good together? He took then up a notch.
-
But people aren't over the moon with our AMs? Willian frustrated people with his lack of attacking threat. The cameo against Leicester was all well and good but he did squat in the final third against Everton. He completed ONE take on a a cross which didn't pick anyone out. This in the most open game I've seen in a while with 8 goals. Schurrle and willian are good players, but it's telling that none of them have held down a starting place, Oscar as well, though he may do through midfield control rather than being a good AM. We can upgrade, if we are to buy another then Salah is the obvious choice. Of course we won't buy without selling.
-
If he is used more as a midfielder as an attacker - yes. His work rate and stamina compliment his good technique. If he is directed could be a great 8 or box to box midfielder
-
I agree, but I think the main difference is ours is potential, due to a need for the team to click more and still find it's balance. City already has it.
-
No. Others have done which shows a 'football manager transfer' is not so unlikely in this day and age. But this is not the same as a Madrid. We will not making a lop sided team with not steal like Madrid. Have you seen how good Reus presses? Would make a situation opposite to madrids!
-
But having an individual(s) that are better as an individual than the city team means diddly. Kolorov, Zabaleta, fernandinho, Nasri may not be the best of the best (though they are quality) but the fit perfectly to allow the WC players to do their thing. Toure needs Fernandi. Nasri and Silvs need Zabaleta and Kolorov. They fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. I wonder, how well does Hazard and Dave fair as a duo for the left side compared to Kolorov and Nasri? How about Toure and Fernando to Cesc and Matic?
-
Only thing I would say is that Madrid seems to have a thing with buying the next shiny German. Started with Ozil and Khedira, then Kroos. May have a pull.
-
Tell me we aren't living in an era of football manager? MU just bought Falcao and Di Maria with Rooney and RVP. Madrid have been doing FM for years Munich have literally stuck to the German version of football manager.
-
Exactly my thinking. It's about timing. Last summer if Falcao was available on loan we would have snatched at it. Next year he will leave IMO. Madrid will not buy and neither will Munich. PSG is a maybe just because you can't rule then out. MU have no room. Arsenal haven't got the balls to sign for a delivery. Liverpool could be a possibility. CL again and wouldn't put it last them to buy him. Hopefully not.
-
I say play him through the middle when we play MU. No midfield at all, in fact through the middle is where they are weakest. With 352 they'll have 2-3 on him out wide. Play Willian and Schurrle or Oscar to track the wingers, and let him unleash hell through the middle like he was doing 2 years ago. We would run riot with Costa's movement also
-
Yeh, I said we could win the prem. but it wouldn't be like before at a canter. City and even Liverpool will push us far. As for CL, a number if teams can. Madrid and Bayern have improved. Liverpool may have the luckiest ride if their lives. Luck plays too much of a role, especially when there isn't a team that is head and shoulders above everyone. We still have another level to go. When people look at chelsea first before everyone else as the team to fear.
-
You know I can see mourinho dropping 4231 and going back to a 433 with Fabregas and Oscar as pure CM for more control of the game. With Reus and Eden as wingers. Yeh neither are great on the right but not sure that would stop us. Duff and Robben would switch frequently right? Haven't seen wingers switch properly in ages. Though as I said, people would need to be sold first and I feel they will. Someone like a salah which would drop the whole pecking order. Anyway can't say anything for certain now, as I said just a guy feeling. The fact he refused a contrast extension helps
-
Didn't want to bump out of no where, but just going to through my hat in now and say we will sign him next year. Mixture if my own desire to seem him in a chelsea shirt and gut feeling that this is the main bulk if the Squad already. We have the blue print and it will be about pruning. I feel this year will be part 1 of Jose's 'second year success' where we may win either the league or a cup or two. But we will far from walk it, unlike he did at inter and Madrid. But it will be next year we become undisputed kings of the prem and I think next year may be our year in Europe. This guy will be our main transfer to take us up that notch. But this is just me playing fantasy football, anyways, if he does come I'll be quoting this post!!
-
Him and Shawcross should be good. Ding ding!
-
I think he can take Oscar's role from him if he continues to improve at the rate he is and Oscar stagnates. Defensively in the same league too.
-
But he score at the Britannia?
-
Salah is a very important squad member to have. Not going to moan about playing all the time, but still ambitious to what to play. Strikes me as a player similar to schurlle, he's better and most dangerous with the ball than with, his movement is fantastic. Always vertical. Finishing needs to be improved but that is always the case with youngsters. First touch is actually quite good, I would say better than Schurlle and Oscar. Will play more than people expect I think.
-
I think Remy is the best with what was available. If Torres left at the start of the summer do I think we would have brought him in still? No, we would have gotten a player with a higher ceiling. But Remy will do, I just hope he fits in. He can't hold up the ball, which is essentially and category of link up play anyway, but is very good when running at the back line with it without the ball. He will certainly get loads of time which is why I don't buy this none sense that a second striker in a one striker system has to be 'lesser' than the first choice. We will play 60 games. A fully fit Costs will not play 60, more likely start around 45. That's 15 starts off the bat. And what about substitution appearances? You think of those 45 Costs will play the full 90? Not with the energy he uses the press like he does How many 10-15 minutes will the second choice get? Then there is the reality Costa will pick up injuries regardless of how niggling and suspensions too with the way he gets yellow cards. How many more appearances is that? 20 starts plus and extra 15 subs? That's appearing in almost every game in the league. That's why a quality second striker is important and why I think Remy will do a job until a better option comes along. He will probably be content with wages as he slips to third choice once drogba retires. A good addition. Not great nor terrible and will help with the load but can't see any great involvement from him past this year

I'm going to through this out there. This this football site that addresses football rumours, with Editors for each club. The Chelsea Editor has sources within the club and has called right the Torres, Mata, Oscar, Azpi, Schurrle transfers before the appeared in the news. These are the most recent ones in my mind. Now, he has said that Mourinho wants to change the style, with two strikers coming in, with Costa and Cavani first choice, and an AM leaving ( he suggests Oscar or even Hazard). He did say that mourning I does not control the whole transfer decisions and is getting some resistance from the board. Will be interesting to see if another big striker is linked after we get costa, something the look at through the summer and see if this idea is going on inside the club
-
I'm going to make a prediction, though it depends on substitutions. If Schurle plays left with hazard as a 10 we will win

Does anyone know a good stream for iPads?
