How do I do that too?
-
He is an all round midfielder. He does not have a designated 'job'. He isn't told to go out, assist or score and don't forget to press! The boss even said costa dies not need to score to do what is needed for the time. Just see the penalty against arsenal, his movement made space. Oscar is there as glue. He supports Costa as the main presser, he drops deep to cover Fabregas, he pulls wide to allow space for Eden and the others behind the striker, he offers options to cesc to keep possession, he covers the space left by the other attackers. He also is there to provide support for the attack. He is not the star, to be honest he is a good cm that plays high but inevitably ends up all over the pitch.
-
See I think you have agreed with me. Reus does not make pressing on his own, but he would fit in with our pressing game. Also, I don't see how oscar is compared? He is the glue to the team, essentially it's a 4-3-3 with him the forward pressing cm. Reus is an attacking mid or winger, whichever. Schurlle or willian would step aside. Though I do agree I'm not sure how likely this is to happen ( in fact more unlikely than not) but theoretically he would make us take another step
-
Let me get this straight, you are holding up Scurlle as an example of providing defensive quality over Reus? Have you watched him? He is a beast at pressing, which is all you can say for Scurlle as his defensive positions are crap. Check man city game. Reus is a good profile player for our teams identity
-
Well depends on the formation because that affects personal, but I see no problem with him on the right. Especially as Ivanovic provides width so we may go back to the days of 'inverted wingers' or players that tend to play across the final third. Obviously one if willian and Schurrle would need to be sold, but considering how some people were saying that willian really needs to step up in terms of productivity this year I don't see how it's so impossible. Don't get me wrong though I don't see any evidence that any of this is going to happen, but it's early
-
Salah will have to wait to get his chances. You do not drop a player completely after a few bad games, you bench him. Unfortunately for salah, willian comes on instead
-
This idea that our current team is perfect and cannot be improved is incredible short sighted
-
To everyone who was moaning at Scurrle's performance yesterday, could imagine him in the team instead with those counter attacking chances? Dynamite.
-
Heart of a lion today.
-
He's been incredible
-
Lady's and gentleman. Diego Costa.
-
I will say it early, Oscar MoM
-
We have unbelievable fresh pace on the bench and tiring forwards? Come on jose!
-
Mikel coming in apparently?!
-
Oscar doing great defensively
-
Willian please
-
Costa has been good off the ball though. His movement made the space for hazard to drive in and get fouled in the box, there was also another time when he dragged Mertesacker near the corner flag! That's why i would personally keep Schurrle on, he is the only one who will get into that space. But I guess once costa comes of I'd bring willian on and oscar on the right like against Swansea. I'm guessing Remy would replace costa.
-
Schurrle has been the most likely to feed costa - well his most dangerous times where almost times. But first touch hooks over his shoulder aiming to set costa free happened at least 3 times.
-
Loads of passion!!! Press press like a pack if wolves!!
-
This is a real English hand full of fight, good possession is just too hard for either team. Great game!
-
A lot of Everton supporters would disagree, but you have an opinion and that's fine. We are both talking in terms of potential which is tricky at best. For what it's worth I value Salah, and in some games he may be the best option on the right. Unfortunately I would say, at the moment because let's face it anyone can pop out as the new bale, these things happen albeit rarely, that these games aren't the big games or even ones against the top 7 teams in the league
-
I've seen him play ever chelsea game and highlights from his seasons in Switzerland. He is still young so any other games I see as pointless in showing his true ability. As for thorgan, you cannot use stats. His age is not one to compare to Salah, who is now past 20. If, as it has been called for the past year, thorgan makes the Belgium team, what would you say in comparison to salah? Could he get in this Belgium team?
-
So shooting is just his weak point? Strange, I would have thought he'd be higher up the pecking order if that was true?! Also, watch the premier league season. How you'll see more than 1 or two dribble past terry and Ivanovic, any defender in world will be past in a season. Does those two matches against us show everything he is about? And anyway what was his main threat against us? His off the ball movement or dribbling.
-
Both of their main asset is off the ball movement into dangerous areas. Only difference is Schurrle has and will always probably be the better finisher. Salah looks good on the ball with close control but I have yet to seem him actually play will my dribbling at people (though you can't say yet, as he only really had those games towards the end of last season) His link up play is the one thing he had above Schurrle, around the box I think he's fantastic with one touch passing, but as an individual brings half the impact a Schurrle does. He's scored in most big games come to think of it, man city at home, away this year, PSG at home, arsenal at home.
-
To be honest I expect that pass to be made.
