I agree. Lavia seems a perfect fit for what Enzo is after. We were aiming for titles back then. Different times, different expectations.
-
His all around play is generally sloppy, which is holding him back. He is the only "old school" winger we have that can actually take on his man & at times, deliver something.
-
He's anything but a squad player the way our team is looking.
-
Madueke has stepped up during preseason. He seems like our most dangerous attacker (on tour).
-
Our highest paid player. Can someone, anyone, take him off our hands?
-
Atletico love a SA striker.
-
I feel like that's his only chance of having a successful career here (similar to Kalou). There would be less pressure on him to take each chance that falls to him, & his movement could seriously help whoever leads the line.
-
I believed young signings had a "separate budget." Sometimes it's difficult to keep track of what's going on. Talk of Osimhen AND Samu. You just know it's setting us up for a fall & we'll just end up with the latter.
-
I thought that might be the case. Only thing currently holding us back is the board's stubbornness.
-
If the board has no desire to budge at any point, we will be a feeder club (if we aren't classed as one already), as I've alluded to in a number of previous posts. Would selling Lukaku & Conor (seemingly most likely rn) not be enough to put us in the green? If not, it really goes to show how the Caicedo & Enzo deals are more than likely going to hold us back in more ways than one.
-
There's no chance of that happening with the number of CB's currently on our books. If two leave (Trev, Badi/Diasi), things might be different. Do we have some unknown constraints or just the board unwilling to budge?
-
It seems unlikely despite everything seemingly being perfect for both parties. Age, wage, or whatever other excuse the board decides to.
-
The club held back on going in all for Endrick despite having him visit the club. If they don't do the same now, it will be another masterstroke from them. His sole start at the Olympics was dire, btw.
-
Preseason or not, this performance has been a shambles thus far. No intensity at all to win the ball back, & the lack of urgency is extremely worrying.
-
Good business according to some.
-
What's happening tonight, then? Who are these "new players", as KDH and Tosin only come to mind. It's effectively the same core trying to play a style they aren't cut out for with a false nine. Early signs aren't encouraging at all. He's adjusting to the system.
-
City have played three games so far & lost all three. Caicedo & Tosin showing glimpses why our team aren't suited to this style of football in the slightest.
-
Softest PK you'll see. Sanchez should have saved that.
-
It's a recurring theme. I'd hate for him to end up at another PL club, seeing as he & his family are big Chelsea fans; however, the silver lining would be him delivering in the PL & silencing those who continue to doubt him. I get that they are completely different players, but it's similar to the pass-away comments Salah got before joining Liverpool. He's arguably been the best player in the league over the course of that time.
-
Sterling on a stupid wage, KK, onto our third GK in less than two years, overpaid (IMO) for midfielders based on potential. Need I go on? We are presently significantly worse off in the league than we were two summers ago. Please refer me to the section of my post where I say they've done nothing good. I said there is no redeeming quality as of right now. If Paez & Estevao (to mention two) hit the heights we all hope, they'll get credit for that in due course. However, at this precise moment in time, the cons far outweigh what good you seem to believe they've done.
-
Just have a look at our recent outgoings or rumoured ones. They are dying to get rid of our home grown talents ahead of the flops who are our books. I honestly can't think of one redeeming quality about this board.
-
We had the misfortune of being in the Europa League twice but won it on both occasions. There really is no excuse for not going all the way in this tournament and becoming the first side to win all three continental titles (currently active).
-
We're talking about the present, not the past. I don't know where you are getting the idea that Atletico is the ONLY team interested in him. If Gallagher thinks he's better than the likes of Palace or West Ham, that's a whole different story in itself. Recent developments mean it's only a matter of time till he leaves regardless of how low the offer might be.
-
EMR played 13 league games last season and did not score a goal. Gallagher, on the other hand, played 37 league games, scored five goals, and is an English INT player. Are you telling me that one year puts them on par in terms of value? Also, our asking price is €35m~. Crazy!

As Mikel said in a recent podcast, winning will change things. If we have a bad start & Enzo is ever present, our season could be over before we know it.
