  1. 100%. If Onana is going for that fee, the English tax alone should see CG going for that figure or more.
  2. Weren't Liverpool interested in him at one point & Thiago/Matip have both left the club. I wouldn't say anything is a foregone conclusion until the window shuts.
  3. Exactly. It's convenient how this "interest" comes about days after he scored. Anything for clicks.
  4. Villa have signed Barkley & are on the verge of (overpaying, IMO) for Onana. I can't see them wanting another midfielder.
  5. He's on INT duty. I'm sure things will heat up next week.
  6. Chiesa is supposedly available for €25m as his contract expires next season & he isn't part of Motta's plans. I'd be all over that if we were able to get rid of someone like Sterling. Basel will receive more money for a player who is no longer theirs than they will for Veiga. No one knows if Veiga will have a similar ascent. One thing is certain: based on his father's recent statement, he does not appear to be lacking in ambition.
  7. They have had discussions to move it multiple times, but FIFA keep doing everything in their power to prevent that from happening - Afcon 2025: Finals set for December 2025 and January 2026 in Morocco - BBC Sport
  8. A market that has so much potential. Let's hope we take full advantage of that.
  9. There's been talk of us still being interested in Osimhen & Conte's love for Lukaku, which is known to all. It honestly seems like a no brainer unless offering high wages for one marquee signing is too much, as things stand.
  10. It's hard to get a read on what the club actually want. I just hope there's more to whatever their plan is than loading up on youngsters from all across the globe.
  11. Is there anyone at Brighton who isn't liked? We need a CF. Why not make a move for that youngster called Welbeck.
  12. I feel like he's a system player. Would we have made a move for him had Poch remained? I guess whether this deal is viewed as a success or a failure will come down to Maresca's time at the club.
  13. Panama pipped USA to a WC 2018 place (as touched upon by Vesper), so I'd say they clearly have the upper hand.
  14. I'm shocked more clubs weren't in for him. He'll presumably replace Rabiot, who's set to leave.
  15. Fair enough for being honest. I despise it as well. The level at which a person performs within reason should have minimal bearing for the reasons you stated. Players have to start somewhere and evolve to become the players they are, therefore the unnecessary shade thrown bothers me. Imagine if Messi (at NOB) or Ronaldo were breaking onto the scene today. These supposed options are either constantly injured or, to put it bluntly, not good enough. If he played CB and RB, I would agree with you.
  16. Bologna's chairman has said it's unlikely he'll go to Juve, so it's a free-for-all in the EPL. There really aren't that many options, tbh. Honest question, did you watch Bologna at all last season (finished in a CL place, btw)?
  17. I don't know who, but a number of defenders will be sold from here until the end of the window. I'd imagine there will be plenty of suitors in Italy. If there's one thing the current board won't do, it's buy first team players without deals already lined up.
  18. I'm unsure why there's some who believe Calafiori would be overkill. A great player for a reasonable price who can either play at CB or LB, a position we've been struggling to fill since AC retired.
  19. There's a difference between not wanting to upset the wage structure & flat-out not having the finances. If Mbappe had expressed a desire to join us, I'm more than sure the club wouldn't have been worried about offering £400k+.
  20. If that's the case, I'd rather have had a buy-back clause because if the sell-on fee turns out to be a significant gain, we'll have missed out on remarkable talent. Did we walk away from the Olise deal, or did he say no because we couldn't offer him CL football, which was key?
  21. It doesn't seem like it to me. Leeds reject a bid of £35m~ while we're accepting almost half of that for someone who was key in winning promotion.
  22. A tidy bit of business from Newcastle considering he never played a game for them.
  23. It's very surprising more clubs don't scout Africa (work permits?). There are plenty of players, old and young who would thrive in Europe. Kaabi is the latest example of that.
  24. Correct. The year they went to the WC & literally gifted Kane the golden boot.
  25. Don't they already have a player in Hall who they have yet to pay for?
