I don't understand this narrative about him being a money grabber. If that was the case, he'd be off to Saudi, not Toney. An established player isn't going to take a paycut unless they were on crazy wages to begin with (I'm quite sure Lewy took one when joining Barca).

This Osimhen saga is needlessly dragging on. It's extremely hard to imagine us ever going for any top calibre players with this wage limitation.

I'm unsure what people have been watching that makes them come to the conclusion that Jackson is going to turn into a reliable CF. Four games this season have shown enough to say it's LW or the bench. I'm going to take this as fact for a moment - We expect one of the best CF's around to join us for a paycut? 😄

My post was largely directed at individuals who said there was an overreaction to the outcome; there was not. Only being up by two goals is far from a dead rubber. It felt like the players just thought it would be a breeze, which it clearly wasn't. Whether it was an ego thing or what, our squad should be up for each and every game regardless of the opposition.

Is this the same board who thought selling assets who help with our books? I don't expect anything smart or well thought out where they are concerned.

When I heard Hermoso was a free agent a number of weeks ago, I thought he'd be a perfect signing for a few years. I'm just unsure this board will even give players 28+ a look. A really stupid mindset. It only made sense to me if Sterling was going the other way. That clearly isn't this case, so is Shields driving this deal because of his connection with the player?

We shouldn't be talking about ifs and buts, as you've previously alluded to. We lost to a notably inferior side and limped over the line to qualify, as the agg scoreline shows. It will be interesting to see the reasoning were a team from Armenia to do the same in a few months time. Distance, players being too far away from home, and so forth.

I had a similar discussion with someone after the first leg. No one here is crying out for Enzo to be sacked, which would go with their narrative. We played a side that we should be beating, with all due respect, quite comfortably. On another day, we could be talking about us failing to even qualify for the "mickey mouse cup," etc.

I'm not blaming him for that. However, he does have part of play (just look at the first goal we conceded tonight) where the lack of defensive organisation is concerned. In a perfect scenario, he would be sold since there is no position where I can see him excelling or at least doing so at the cost of players with more talent.

Sign one, full stop. Enzo isn't captain material in the slightest.
