At this point the midfielders are selected by default. We really need at least one of Kanté or Kovacic back. Possible Lewis Bate debut?
-
He's coming from Leverkusen and his contract is expiring in 2 years so his current wages are probably not very high, I think 150k is a realistic number.
-
Good time to be playing Sheffield right after a difficult game with only 2 days of rest between games and their third game in a week.
-
He's a luxury considering our current defensive problems. Keep the money and spend it elsewhere. LB, CB and GK, MF if we can get rid of Kepa and Jorginho somehow.
-
The pace of Zouma to get there in time despite being caught out is unreal. On Christensen, I feel comitting to the runner was not the best choice considering James is out of position but I can understand.
-
Lots of players at fault for that chance. Zouma is caught, Christensen overcommits the player making the run, Mount and Jorginho not screening the channel well. It's chaos.
-
80m Kepa with astrocious goalkeeping but little 19 year old Gilmour is the one getting criticized, is this for real?
-
It feels like every shot against us could go in, almost like we had no goalie... on a side note, Mason playing incredibly well.
-
I don't like Jorginho as a player and wanted him gone in the summer but even I'm feeling bad for him right now.
-
I think you're being very harsh on him. He also came back from the same injury and albeit sooner it takes nothing away from the severity of it. It's a long and difficult process. Not to mention he barely played pro football prior to the injury and still has to transition from youth football into the PL. All things considered he was alright and showed flashed of his brilliance at times. Next season is when he's really gonna have to step up otherwise he will be left behind.

Rice always looked more of a CB than a 6 to me. I'm not convinced yet that he can play in midfield for a top club but I like the idea of buying him for the defense. Then if necessary he could be a backup in midfield. I know WHU fans think he's an excellent CB.
-
I'm surprised Frank decided to keep him in the first place, I thought he would be gone with Sarri.
-
Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, Pogba, Fernandes. These are all players with 10+ goals a season in them. Can't go wrong if you can score goals at will.
-
At this point, I'd take any goalkeeper. Seriously, anyone not named Kepa is fine.

Azpi was used at LB because he was not satisfied with any of the left backs at his disposal which is a valid concern. Seeing as Azpi played there before and James (who's a great talent) can offer something going forward the decision was eventually made. Barkley is a actually a very good PK taker. He missed, it happens even to the best. I don't rate him highly but he sure can shoot. Anyone who thinks Mount is playing because of his passport... Honestly, I'm not even gonna bother with this one. I agree with you on his exclusion of Giroud, Alonso and Pedro in the first half of the season. I think he knew he wanted to move them and decided it would be better to have someone else play their minutes if they were leaving anyway. Both Pedro and Giroud ended up remaining past the january window, and with injuries to key players he probably decided there was no valid reason not to give them more game time. As for Pulisic, he recentely admitted he was very close to starting him vs Villa but ultimately decided it might be too early considering he hadn't played for months even prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. He was only benched in the early part of the season beause he was clearly not at his best physically(no rest during the summer) and still needed time to adapt. Lamps has his flaws, i'll give you that but certainly not the ones you mention. Te fact that so many people are agreeing with you is worrying.
-
I don't think it's possible to play Kai at ST when you have both Tammy and Werner. Giroud is probably here to stay as well. Obviously I'm not going to say no to an incredible talent like him joining us but I feel other positions should be more of a priority. I agree Mount is a very important piece and will probably play just as much next season mainly because he's the only one who's good off the ball.
-
I still have hope Willian will try to finish the season with us considering he's been here longer than Pedro and probably cares more about the club, but we're close to deadline now and his agent will do everything to convince him not to.
-
If we lose both Pedro and Willian, it would seriously hurt our chances for Champions League football. We really needed the whole squad.
-
I like Havertz more than Sancho or Werner but I can't this happening. We're loaded with attacking options and still need to sign a left back and perhaps another position(CB or GK or maybe even a midfielder). He's a player in demand too.
-
The Ziyech transfer ultimately meant our chances of landing Sancho were much thinner. People including here didn't want to believe it at the time but that's what it was. He's too expensive and we have other positions where the squad need strenghtening. United needs a winger badly and they fixed other needs last summer(Maguire, AWB). I'm not entirely sold on Werner as a striker especially in the EPL but I don't mind as long as we have Tammy in the squad. He will offer versatility and more tactical options.
-
If Liverpool decides to make a move now that we're in a more advanced stage, the situation could change completely . I still remember the Ox deal.
-
The only situation where the club should consider selling Kante is if our medical team feel his injuries are a real issue and could potentially prevent him from playing his best football ever again. Otherwise it's a no-brainer, he's the best player in the world at his position and the best player at our football club. No player could replace him. The Coutinho-Kante swap that's mentionned in the Goal article made me chuckle.
-
Sell Jorginho to Sarri in the summer(if he still is in charge) and make room for this kid to play regularly next season. Really special talent.
-
I don't think I was this excited about a chelsea game in a long time. This was all I could think about all day.
-
As bad as he is defensively(mostly due to his lack of pace), he is still 10 times better than Emerson.
