  1. I remember Pep talking to him at the end of one of our matches. He seemed very interested. I wouldn't mind us selling him to them. Good CB but not cut for the EPL.
  2. I like Aké but I don't think he's an upgrade on either Rudiger or Zouma. City absolutely need to sign 1 or 2 new CBs. Christensen would get into their team playing next to Laporte. That's how badly they need a CB.
  3. The unhappy player thing is very real. Plenty of instances where the player looking to leave never played at the same level again. Just look at Zaha from this season compared to last. Obviously every player and every situation is different. but even if Havertz is not the unprofessional type and agrees to stay. If he feels he has outgrown the team, he could unconsciously lose motivation and not try as hard which could also hinder his progress as a young player. Bayer is trying to squeeze us for every penny they can get. If we were desperate to sign him, maybe we would have agreed to their demands but we have enough players in his position and still need to strenghten in others. They on the other hand are obligated to sell now and the player has already asked to leave. We're the only team who can pay close to what they're asking. They're not in a position of strength at all. Forcing him to play in the EL is a tactic to get Marina to offer more.
  4. If they stick to their 100m valuation and we don't buy him, they will end up with an unhappy player who will leave for much cheaper next season. No reason to rush this. 100 is far too much especially considering the circumstances.
  5. Azpi. A lot of people had doubts about him and wanted James to take his minutes at the end of last season. Always available. Easily our most consistent performer throughout the season. His leadership qualities were much needed to guide a number of young players integrating the team.
  6. The part where he says that Lampard is the main reason he decided to come here is the best bit IMO. Great interview.
  7. All the big blunders Onana has made at Ajax were mostly during his first couple of years there. He improved tremendously since then. Those who say he's not an upgrade have either never seen him play or are judging him for reasons unrelated to football.
  8. He has mainly played at RB for PSG. He was injured for a long while too.
  9. Statistically we've easily been the third best team in the country. Even our numbers defensively are quite good. You put any decent GK instead of Kepa and we finish comfortably in third with at least 8 more points. Frank doesn't get enough credit for the job done this season considering the circumstances and personnel available.
  10. 170000£ a week? There's no way this is true.
  11. I know reports from France said that we tried to convince Ndombele to remain 1 more year in Lyon so that we could sign him when the transfer ban ends. He would be a great signing for any club still. Brilliant player.
  12. They're similar in the sense that both don't have a fixed position and their movement is brilliant. They know how to exploit the space on the pitch. Germany produces many players like that. Otherwise, Kai is more talented than Muller ever was. it's not even close.
  13. Not in an official competition but i'll add this one
  14. Onana for me. Ticks all boxes. Shot-stopping, crosses, commanding, strength, ball-playing and he's very much available for a reasonable fee. I wouldn't mind Dean Henderson but United will not let go of him. If a swap deal with Kepa is the only way to getting a new GK, I'll take that too.
  15. Yeah. Mbappe said he does not think it's broken. PSG are very cautious with injuries to key players since the incidents with Neymar.
  16. 4-4-2 is definitely possible then. Tammy-Werner pairing to get the best out of Timo with Giroud in the rotation. Kai could even pretend to play next to one of the strikers if he were to sign.
  17. I think the supporters(mainly the young ones) wanted Kepa to succeed to prove that we didn't need Courtois and that he wasn't very good(obviously not true) so they maintained the illusion that he was a good goalkeeper who was unlucky or playing with a bad defense around him refusing to see the truth. The funny thing is that the expectations for our next goalkeeper are going to be huge in comparision. People will be downplaying his good saves and amplifying his mistakes.
  18. People are saying he's in a bad form because of reasons related to his private life or whatever and that he's regressed this season, and whilst that is true to some extent. I don't think he was anything special last season either, made some good saves in the Europa but that was it. As much as people disliked him, going from Courtois to Kepa is as big a downgrade as it gets. Kepa has lowered the bar so much that fans believe every shot against him is a worldie and unstoppable, while easy saves you take for granted are deemed very good saves now. He's not even good with his feet, bad decisions and hoofs it when under pressure. Despite everything, I have nothing against him. He's a bad goalkeeper but it's our fault we signed him and offered him those wages. Sarri in particular is to blame because he was his choice, but how our board allowed it is beyond me. His numbers even at Bilbao were not spectacular. Decent but nothing that would suggest "world class potential". And as if it wan't enough, they decided that offering him the longest running contract at the club was a good idea.
  19. No point in criticizing him. It took injuries to Kanté and 19 yo Gilmour for him to get back into the team. He's probably gone in the summer anyway.
  20. I hope this was his last game for us.
  21. I don't want Havertz, Chilwell, Rice and whatever new outfield player we're linked with. Please buy a new goalkeeper. I can't stand to watch another game with Kepa in goal anymore.
  22. Kai trying to lower the asking price of 100m.
  23. I know Aké is not very tall but he can jump high and his timing is excellent. Next to an aerially dominant CB like Koulibaly I don't think he would be a liability. I'm not a big fan of him but he's better than Stones or Otamendi. He would be an excellent addition for them. As for Guardiola, you think he would have learned that you need tall and physical players in the PL especially after his first season's debacle. Leicester and Everton games come to mind.
