PFA Player of the Year 2015 & Performance of the Season?
Rapkun replied to Mustafa's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Decisive as in Goals/Assists? I think it's up to people's perspective. For me he was decisive enough. Created chances, won fouls, corners(drogba goal). I can't think of any other better player on that pitch. Goals/Assists is the reason Eden doesn't have much of a shot at winning this prize in the first place, or the Ballon d'or for that matter. but If you're talking about the level of the performance in those games, then you know Eden is the standout player. Based on consistency, I think he edges out everyone in the league. -
PFA Player of the Year 2015 & Performance of the Season?

You must be confusing games, Eden was superb vs United. The only thing he could be blamed for is missing the the 1 on 1 with De Gea. I don't think anyone else than Sanchez is going to prize. He has the stats to back him up and multiple MOTM prizes and it's only his first season in the PL. -
Fabregas is starting too. Courtois jt cahill iva azpi matic ramires fabregas willian hazard costa

Luiz starting in the midfield for PSG. Marquinhos to partner Thiago Silva.

Mourra, Cabaye, Aurier are out. Thiago Motta and Pastore are doubtful. Only John Obi is out for us. I saw pictures of Cesc training with the team yesterday.

Nabil Fekir is a French/Algerian attacking midfielder/Striker currently playing for Olympique Lyonnais. He mainly plays as an attacking center midfielder or a left winger but he can also play on the right or even as a Striker. He is left footed. He possesses all the qualities of a very promising attacking talent; technical ability,creativity,vision,pace,dribbling,set-pieces. He is making a tremendous duo with his teamate Lacazette contributing to a large number of goal/assists to their team, which is top of ligue 1 at the minute. I know all the hype is around Lacazette at the moment but I believe he is only being overshadowed by his teamate's impressive goal record. He reached an incredible level this season and he's only 21 years old. I think he is the real deal. We haven't been linked with him but there wasn't any thread about him and I wanted to dicuss the player. This is not the position where we need to strenghten right now, but seeing the boy's talent It would be a shame to miss on him if he were to move. He is a big talent. I don't think I've been that much impressed with a ligue 1 player since Eden Hazard. I highly suggest to anyone who didn't see him to watch some lyon games and judge for themselves, Lyon play a very attractive football and they have lot promising players in their ranks so you won't get disapointed. Meanwhile here is a Youtube video.

Depending on our lineup and tactics during the games. and seeing how Coutinho cut our midfield open , I wouldn't be surprised to see Lucas cause us some trouble. Yes I probably exaggerated saying he's awful but I definitely don't think he's the player people are making him out to be or that he's worth his price tag so far.

Their best player this season is Verratti. You could ask any PSG fan or anyone who watches ligue 1. I came to that conclusion because I watched a lot of PSG this season, and other than pace and dribbles he really is awful at every other aspect of the game. He plays in the best team of his league and the most dominant one. they have the ball all the time and create infinite chances and yet he only scored 7 goals(2 of them penalties). That means he's behind players like Fekir,Wass etc.. and most of his goals came when Zlatan was injured (gets more chances to score). He is a very gifted player but he needs to evolve tactically, and improve his movement, decision making, positioning, reading of the game to be a top player. It's no surprise he can't make it in his national team.

Mourra is overrated. All he has is pace and dribbles, other than that he's an awful footballer. I remember he was criticized after our second leg with them. Zlatan is performing terribly at the moment and fails to convert most of his chances. Cavani is mainly a counter attack player, who is quite superb but lacks finishing and is quite low on confidence at the moment. Matuidi is a similar player to Ramires. Cabaye is not even a starter. Verratti is having his best season for PSG. Basically this season, all of PSG players are underperforming except Verratti, but they remain a good team who are capable of giving a tough time to any team in europe. Barca who was undefeated at the time and conceded 0 goals lost to them at the start of the season so I wouldn't write them off but I can't stop being confident about those games. Mourinho factor I guess.

His performances vs City and Arsenal Home last season always comes to mind. Especially City given the quality of the opposition, his first start with the team in a very decisive game, but most importantly him battling with Yaya Toure who used to give us nightmares after we play them.
-
I was thinking he was getting rested for the PSG game but looking at our squad depth particularly in the AM department and considering the game is only in 5 days, that makes more sense. Thank you.
-
He wasn't in the squad at all. He must be injured. Any news?
-
35M to sign Cuardrado and fire Willian up will turn out to be an absolute bargain.
-
He made the Fabregas change as expected, but surprisingly he dropped Remy to introduce Drogba and not Ramires. Every other time we were chasing a late win we reverted into 442 with 2 strikers and played more crosses into the box. Today however he only made changes for the same positions and took less risks. It's funny because it's probably the only time we score a late winner this season.

Your recent defensive stability is costing you a lot in attack though. Chelsea along with Arsenal are the only team to always have scored at home this season. If you concede a goal first, which statistically you will you are gonna have to be more adventurous and thus leave your defense more exposed. Our home form this season is excellent, in fact the only time we dropped points at home in the league was the City game, where the manager was satisfied with a draw whereas we will most certainly looking for the 3 points on Wednesday. Obviously, we are not looking as good as we were at the start of the season and we are missing Diego Costa who was arguably our best player at Goodison Park but we managed to get good results without him several times. Honestly, you will need a huge performance to get anything from this game but anything can happen. Also, do you mind if I ask why is your team struggling so much this season? is it the cumulation of fixtures(europa league)? injuries? underperforming players? and what did you think of the Lukaku signing and the player. I'd appreciate a lot if you answered. Thank you. It's so rare to see supporters from other teams on here, I wish there was more.
-
I don't know why you feel the need to mention playing with the head up because he doesn't play with his head down nor does he need to. Other than that, I agree he certainly he isn't on par with the best creative players in the game. He does have excellent vision though and quick decison making.
-
Jose only used him in the home games so far. Cahill dropped after the Spurs game. Zouma starts vs Newcastle. Home game. Cahill returns to the team vs Swansea. Away game Cahill again features in the COC game VS Liverpool. Away game Cahill and Zouma both play the FA cup game vs Bradford. Home game Cahill dropped for Zouma vs Liverpool. Home game Zouma starts again over Cahill vs City. Home game I personally thought Cahill despite his chaotic performances was still more mature to deal with the pressure for chelsea than zouma for the time being, but the former failed to deliver in the easiest games after he was dropped (notably swansea and bradford) while the latter has proven to be very solid and consistent everytime he featured including liverpool and city games. If Zouma starts at Villa Park, it will be a huge sign.
-
I was thinking he should be played centrally for a good long time but as of late, he seems to be allowed to play wherever he wants. He moved to the center quite often in the past few games and during big games he plays almost as a second striker in a 442 where everyone is postionned very deep except him and Costa. He also said in an interview that he likes playing on the wing because he gets much freedom, that's very true. He can't be easily marked when he plays on the wing and keeps changing positions not to mention he will have a lot less defensive work to do.
-
Really disapointed that we're selling him. Personally, I rate him higher than Cuadrado. but I understand that other people don't see it the same way. Very likeable fella too. Very passionate about the club, that's undeniable. You could tell he wanted to make it here. I'll never forget his home performance vs PSG, and his reaction at the end of the game

Referee had a shocker today. Unable to step up, take actions and calm the situation when things were heating up. Other than that, the bridge was on fire!
-
Progressed during the game and gained in confidence. But mainly it was JT that saved the day.
