  1. Past hour
  2. To watch as a club we used to clown on and dominate for like 15 years transform into the best side in Europe with a super bright future whilst we have simultaneously collapsed into mediocre nothingness is depressing. They’re top of the league, have a fantastic squad, fantastic structure above the players from the manager to the directors. And Arteta is talking about ADDING MORE quality to the team next month. Meanwhile, we are completely lost as a club and I don’t see any way for things to get better in the future. We’ve once again saddled ourselves with a load of players who are nowhere near good enough and how will we get rid of them? Who is going to want these guys? And how the hell can we trust these jokers in charge who signed Gittens, Garnacho, Delap, etc? Unlike in the past where we sacked a manager and either got a bounce or had something to look forward to, I don’t think sacking Maresca does anything for us. His replacement will likely be worse with these directors picking him. Short of the owners saying fuck it and doing away with their precious wage cap and age requirements I don’t see any optimism that things will change in the coming years.
  3. I just hope Fofana hasnt hurt himself -he seemed to be knackered towards the end kf the game Imagine playing with the mighty Badiashile or Tosin in CB position for the next few games.
  4. Tottenham board gives green light to mega £166m transfer plan with 43-goal star set as priority target https://thedailybriefing.io/p/tottenham-166m-investment-samu-aghehowa-transfer-priority Tottenham are reportedly preparing a historic financial package to secure the services of FC Porto’s striking sensation, Samu Aghehowa. With the club sitting in 11th place under Thomas Frank, the Spurs board is seemingly ready to sanction a record-breaking move to salvage their season and future ambitions. According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham’s hierarchy have given the green light to an ambitious investment plan worth nearly €200 million (£166m) to bridge the widening gap between themselves and the Premier League elite. At the forefront of this strategy is 21-year-old Spanish forward Samu Aghehowa, who has been identified as the ‘priority’ for the North London club. Manager Thomas Frank has reportedly demanded ‘concrete, contrasted profiles with immediate impact’, stressing that the team cannot compete without a significant leap in quality. While Porto have set the player’s release clause at a staggering €100 million (£83m) and are adamant he will not leave in the winter window, Spurs are now willing to get closer to that figure than ever before. The report suggests that while a January move is complex, Tottenham are determined to position themselves as the frontrunners for a summer deal, marking Aghehowa in red as their primary target for 2026. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images) Samu Aghehowa’s incredible goalscoring form It is easy to see why Aghehowa has become one of the most coveted names in European football. Since joining Porto from Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2024, the powerful striker has been nothing short of a revelation. In the 2024/25 season, he exploded onto the scene with 27 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a lethal finisher in the Primeira Liga. This season, he has shown no signs of slowing down, netting 18 goals in just 23 appearances across all competitions this season, taking his overall tally for the club to 43 goals in 68 games. His stats shows exactly why he is so highly sought by so many elite clubs. Besides the strong interest from Tottenham, there is interest from others as well including Chelsea. With Tottenham reportedly ready to go all in to bring the Porto man, he could prove to be an incredible signing for Spurs.
  5. Once we lose/draw a few more games, you won't be so relaxed watching our games. Those dropped points to Sunderland, Leeds and a few others will come back to bite us at the end of the season. United aren't even serious and yet they are tied on points with us and they will get some good players back after AFCON finishes.
  6. To watch Villa get 3 points from us and then go to Arsenal and get hammered in the 2nd half.....so frustrating. If one of the other attackers was keen on doing something other than Estevao, we would have won today. It seems like every player isn't interested in shooting at goal and testing their goalkeeper, its more about retaining possession in front of the opposition box. People on this forum used to criticise Jackson but honestly what has Delap done to be the striker at Chelsea? At least Jackson scored goals every now and then.
  7. If Arsenal start pushing for Jacquet, we won't get him.
  8. The recruitment was always going to shoot us in the foot. It has done so ever since these new owners came here. From that first window with high spending on more established names like Sterling, Koulibaly etc (players which we should of signed maybe 2-3 years earlier) now to windows where we repeatedly stock up on young players with limited experience in positions we aren’t screaming out for. This summer was a great example of this, crying out for a top CB, a top GK. Plenty of options we should’ve went for. The influence of Joe Shields & recruiting ex City players has also been a resounding failure if I am honest. Except for Cole Palmer, the signings of Sterling, Tosin, Delap & Gittens have all flattered to deceive/look well off the level. Throw in the debacle with the lad from Bournemouth, declaring interest then being like nah.
  9. We'll probably win against City somehow and they lose and draw the rest of January In all competitions this month we've played 8 won 2. Not even a shock anymore when we drop points or lose more when we win!
  10. Ffs another home game without a win… all the way to the bridge to see 1 point from 6. next one city away gonna make it 1/9 😑
  11. Today
  12. Caballero: “Enzo didn't feel well in the last two days. He had a temperature two days ago. After the game, he went to the changing room and he asked me to replace him because he didn't feel well. Will I be in charge against City? I don’t know, hopefully in 2-3 days he will be okay” Loud boos from the CFC supporters at Stamford Bridge as Cole Palmer is replaced by Joao Pedro. Some singing: "You don't know what you're doing."
  13. The only thing separating us is goal difference. Weve won/drawn/lost the same amount so just depends who is worse at the end. Liverpool can go 5 clear if they win when they play so think be hard to catch they've found form. But this shouldn't be where we are! Not after all these years of building. We used to mock Arsenal fans for their 4th place celebrations now thats us
  14. Money well spent!! Can we get refunds?
  15. lol idk if we get ucl this year. i really have doubts
  16. Top5 for CL. Who can hurt us? This United hahaha. Completely relaxed watching games because our goal is top5! 2nd place with 90 points or 5th with 60 no difference. No title but CL qualification.
  17. we downgrade our team we don't upgrade our defense (we brought hato, that is a cover to cucurella). it was obvious that we needed at least a very good center back and offload badiashile and/or tosin we brought garnacho, gittsen and delap and the three are awful. joao pedro and estevao are ok but not the level we need we offload maduke, sancho and jackson and they were better than what we've got now bad pre season, some "unlucky" with red cards and thats it
  18. Cant see him making it past this summer. Sporting directors should also be binned - if the clubs ownership had real ambitions & balls - their incredibly poor recruitment is as much to blame as any of the managers that have been appointed.
  19. Half season 30 points from possible 57. On a track to 60. Last season enough for 9th place.
  20. The squad is worse than last year, and Colwill's injury has exacerbated the problems in defense. Maresca is right to ask for a new defender, but otherwise he's not good enough for the club. The management is destroying the club.
  21. we will not get ucl this year. what a setback from the last year
  22. Imagine having 21 goals against in 18 games... I miss those days! Like said before as lovely as winning the club world cup and conference league all it did was temporary pave over the obvious cracks. We aint winning the league or champions league..doubtful for the league Cup.. Hopefully Wolves can hold on.. Arsenal 4-0
  23. The constant chopping and changing of the back 4 isn't doing us any favors. Yes, Cucurella and James needed to be rested, but playing players outside their natural positions (Gusto, Acheampong) left us scrambling against Bournemouth in the first half. At least he restored some stability by bringing on James, and we had more control. Then there's the lack of ruthlessness. At 2-2, the game was there to be won. Sadly only Estevao showed any real intent. Delap & co were just ball watching for the most part in the 2nd half.
