Its bullshit. Remember the strikers we got linked with before Giroud came in.

Maybe. But this might explain why we loaned Eduardo out. Freed up a space to be used by a HG player in the GK area.

Getting a 2/3rd choice HG GK makes perfect sense.

Funny thing is he was amazing pre 2010 WC (produced some of the best keeper displays in PL history during West Hams great escape in 2007) and i was desperate for him to replace Cudicini as back up in 2009.

However as far as present day goes this is weird, he's not PL quality these days even as a #3.

Not sure if Eduardo is either mate. Not many teams will have the luxury of a Premier League quality as third choice keeper.

At least he's been playing regularly at Championship level the last few years.

I don't mind this signing. Having Eduardo is a complete waste of a foreign spot in our squad and not having a player like this helping to fill the homegrown quota helps contribute to somebody like Drinkwater being brought.

It's not just the replacing Eduardo but its who we may potentially bring in as that extra foreign player which is the bigger positive.
