i think now that everybody knows who's going to be our new manager, but another important question is, who's going to be our new assistant manager ? Zola ?

Like i said i can remember Hiddink being in charge of Madrid, either after or before Heynckes, and getting sacked. And i think he had a spell in turkey and got sacked. Had a very good Russia side last year, and failed qualifications miserably. He has done nothing of real note other than 1988 CL, which carlo won twice, but i forgot Carlo is public enemy number 1 amongst some CFC fans.

Ok, he got Russia to Euros semi finals and did ok at Korea, but thats sod all to club management, remind me, how are his Turkey side doing at the moment? And Turkey are hardly a poor side

Because Carlo might not be a pathetic person, but he did a pathetic job in this season.

van Basten.

You cant compare him to Scolari. Hiddink has won the European Cup and managed clubs sides in Europe for a total of 14 yrs......Plus he knew when to shave his tache off!!!!!

No but i bet the day he got appointed, some on here would of said "GREAT MANAGER HES WON WORLD CUP"

Look at his last reign at PSV in 2002 -2006 - 3 leagues in 3 years and semi finals of the CL with no at the time big name players....he also discovered players aswell.

I think his Holland style of play and team were pretty good to.

He's a great International manager. We all saw what happened with Scolari.

Scolari won the '02 World Cup with Brazil. Guus took South Korea to the semifinals. Which one was the more impressive accomplishment, given the talent of the sides and historical precedents in place at the time?

Don't mind Henrique, he has a big mouth and god complex but he is relatively harmless :) Kind of reminds me of chihuahuas

You're all missing the point. What he did at previous clubs/NTs doesn't matter to Roman right now. Hiddink is the manager because he knows the club, he knows the owner., he knows the players and most importantly, everyone here loves him. It's a move to restore the 'feel good factor' at the club after a disappointing season and all the bad press we've been getting.

Hiddink considers Chelsea as a reserve option.

After failing successively to bring two national teams to qualify, Chelsea is the final chance for him to earn money for his retirement

How has he failed with Turkey? they're ONE point behind Belgium for 2nd place - with 5 games left.

Football is not only CL + PL.

You can't judge a managers job based in simple statistics. So, that speaks zero volume. Hiddink is a great manager, and thats beyond doubt.

But you were quick to point out how many trophiless seasons Ancelotti had with AC Milan. Hyprocrite..no?
