Thibaut Courtois loaned to Atletico

Big Belgian goalkeeper of Racing Genk (Belgian champions).

Belgian news papers state that Chelsea have done a bid on him.

Chelsea wants to buy him and put him on loan (probably to his current team Genk).

Oh and in my opinion, he's way better than Mignolet (Sunderland) and younger.

unless he is happy with a place on the bench i dont see why any goalie would wish to come to us , whilst Cech the best in the world has at least another 6 years minimum as our first choice goalie . biggrin.gif

Chelsea allready talked with Genk about Courtois earlier, now the goalie responded to these talks.

Chelsea has a great plan on the table to become theire 1st goalie in the future. This will not be done in 2 or 3 years, more like 4 a 5 probably, so i can develop untill i'm ready for the big work.

The plan is like with Kevin De Bruyne that he would be loaned back to Genk.

Whatever happens, i will be a Genk player for certain next year, maybe for two years, it depends on how i'm making progress over here. After that it is possible i'll be loaned out to an English side. I just like the fact that Chelsea has confidence in me, and they see me as the successor of Petr Cech

A few people following the Belgian league confirmed to me that he is was the player who won Genk the league. A former Belgian GK already considers him to be the best Belgian GK ever. Don't see why he would want to sign for us with Petr having a least 6 more seasons in him.

Yes but who says in six years Cech will be the same goalkeeper he is today?

If Courtois comes in and pushes him, it will improve Cech's performances as well.

And there is no harm in having a quality goalkeeper as a back-up - like having a young Cudicini, for instance.

I'm not aware of many keepers who turned from world class to shit (Arsenal class) overnight.

Unless of course you've got experience on the matter :whistling: :eyebrows:

Spot the difference.

Every player's career eventually follows a downwards slope.

Besides, form is only temporary. If Cech was to ever have another period like mid 08/09 when he was spilling crosses like the ball was made of jelly and continuously making errors of judgement, how could we drop him if we didn't have quality youthful potential on the bench? The sends out a message almost commending second-rate football to all players at the club.
