The Football Association will allow Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur to share Wembley next year due to the redevelopment work at their respective stadiums. As the London clubs will not be able to play at their grounds while work goes on, it is understood they may temporarily use Wembley for home fixtures.

The proposed new stadium is just awesome. I very much like quality of the materials, the bricks and the arcades, the views on the pitch, the roof (in comparison: poor Liverpool fans). This stadium will not only be fantastic for the fans, it is also a real piece of architecture on its own. Very different from the other stadium that have been built in Europe. Here it is all about quality. And a stadium designed for real football fans.

Having said that, has the planning application been approved yet or not? In which case, when can we expect a decision? And what is the timeline for building this stadium?

The application was submitted on 1st December last year and is presumably under consideration.

Stamford Bridge Gates – a design competition

Chelsea Football Club’s planning application for an expanded stadium is pending and if the redevelopment goes ahead, we want supporters to help create it by designing a new landmark - the Stamford Bridge Gates.

The Gates will be one of the most prominent features of the site and their design is to be chosen by a competition, with the full details and the background to it given below...

why not?

the place is a shoitehole and the stadium is crap.

Hope Chelsea FC let ST holders freeze their seats until new Stamford Bridge is built because I ain't going to that dump every other week. Will be completely devoid of atmosphere as well in that souless concrete bowl.

Just pull out of the deal and let Spurs have it now we have forced them to pay extra.

Shame Twickers couldnt have been used.....but perhaps we should downscale a bit and share with Fulham

To be fair, they've done wonders with the work done around the stadium, and it's pretty decent around there now although I'm inclined to agree with you about the stadium.I do believe with a football club playing in there every other week, with hardcore fans it wouldn't be the soulless bowl it currently is.

its a good move by the club to embrace this.

One less thing for the media to beat us with a stick.

Wouldnt mind betting that within a year or so there is a big report into the gay society and football after an incident or rally/protest somewhere.  After we have had stuff about football violence, racism, sexism....it would be great not to hear the clubs name  not mentioned when the next big scandal happens.
