BlueLion. 21,491
Not gonna happen. No point discussing.True but if we were going by that policy, we'd only have two open topics in this forum.
CHOULO19 24,332
I don't think that we really need him, he is very similar to Sturidge. If he comes either he or sturidge will end up on the bench for most of the season which is a real shame since they are both talented young players. Spike 12,049
I really like him, but signing him probably isn't the greatest idea with Mata on his way.
SeB 1,281
I hope it will stay at the stage of rumours without real origin, I really find him stupid... He has technical abilities but cannot uses it for the team, no need to point his stamina or the fact he plays Casper the friendly Ghost against top 8 teams. In absolute terms I wouldn't have mind if we did take him at Boro for less than 10m. Now he would be too expensive for what he could really brings, he can be a good impact player with his speed and his freshness but if we have to pay 20m for him, no way
Wilson 358
Bids expected for Johnson. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7136668,00.htmlI say we go for him! Especially with Kalou and Yossi going....If they do go lol =/.
ZanSnake 1,211
If Kalou goes, the perfect replacement - a young English winger who can change games when in perfect positions. The threat we would have with Mata and him on at the same time....
ack17 205
If city sold him to us, that means they consider we are on the same level as tottenham
Ramox 246
He would be the perfect transfer for us... He and Studge would fight for the place... It would be amazing!
CHOULO19 24,332
I doubt mancity would sell him to us. They wouldn't want to help other tittle contenders.
cujo101 75
Come on AVB, make a move! To be serious for a moment, I can't see Mancini allowing Johnson to move to us and if he goes he will end up at a Sunderland or Villa not a title rival. 5354 204
I really hope it goes through. Hopefully he can force the move. Come on. In city he is sitting on the bench....
BlueLion. 21,491
The going rate for English wingers is ridiculous but Johnson would be a perfect signing. I say we make a starting bid of £25m with the potential to go up to £35m.
SeB 1,281
We had to pick him at Boro, now he is too expensive for the what he can really bring to the squad... Yes, good impact player with speed and pace but he isn't intelligent, his crossing ability is poor (I don't even know if he targets a precise zone when he crosses) and he does not know when to give the ball, like a 18 year old whereas he is 23...Either taking Jarvis, Wolves have no financial struggle and if we put 10~15 on the table he is ours. Jarvis is such a fantastic player, I watch some Wolves games only to see him (and Fletcher also, imagine if we replace Kalou by Fletcher, giving the scot the support striker role Kalou did never have...). I'm sure the greatest replacement for Anelka is Steven Fletcher, he has the quality of a #10 and he is able to play on the wings.
Spike 12,049
I would sign him in a heartbeat given the chance. It would be like having a better Joe Cole!
LDN Blue 7,903
If Downing goes for £20million.. AJ will cost around £25-30million, at least.

He reminds me of Antonio Valencia in terms of how far he will work for the team. I'd much prefer him to Johnson
