I really doubt that they are completely different players. Willian's acquisition is independent of Rooney... I'm having a feeling it will be Willian AND is Anzhi teammate Eto'o coming in

after all that jose said about spending less, it'd be funny if chelsea go out and spent 50+ mil in the last week of the window.

not that i'm surprised though. Mourinho is a hypocrite sometimes

why not bid the same amount for witsel or getting de rossi for 1/3 of it. just delusional what we are doing. or save the money and pay 20 m more for cavani or a proper striker. Hoped that Mou woud be intelligent enough to fix our main problems but instead we are signing players we dont need. great.

We will eventually get a DM. Jose probably doesn't know how badly we need one yet, because it's the one position we have hardly been linked with any players. Lampard still being around doesn't help much.

People who say Willian is not needed, its about Quality not Quantity it doesn't matter how many number 10's or wingers we have as long as the new signing/s add more quality to the squad that is a big positive. Willian is a massive upgrade on Moses so i am very happy with this potential deal!

Of course he's going to be an upgrade on Moses, lol. Moses cost £7m, Willian will cost us £30m.

You don't spend £30m on a squad player either. So expect KDB and Oscar to be on the bench more often, especially if Mata stays.

Hahaha Ya! He changes his stance like the weather.

At any rate I'm excited... I don't think we need Willian but its pretty fun to mug off the Spurs.

If either Rooney or Eto'o come in we're set.

WOW, difference of opinion happens so quick. When it looked like he was signing for Spurs a few days ago some were like he is a good player while a big majority was like he was an overrated player but now he is likely to join us opinion changes quickly. Is going to be really interesting to see how our strongest trio will turn out to be. Rotation looks like the main thing I guess.

Problem is we already have more QUALITY at his position than at any other position. 30M is a significant investment even for us. It could have gone to other areas that actually NEEDED more QUALITY

Must be fun for the youth. Already stacked positions being more stacked. lucky we always have some guys from the academy on the bench to keep them, oh wait we don't.

Well, at the academy...who is there to play for Chelsea ?

If you noticed for several years now, Chelsea predominantly buy young players & sends them out on loans. A very shrewed way, I might add.

This, it's ridicoules how much our players get overrated here.
