Assuming we give him a 5 year deal his whole package (contract and transfer) would actually likely cost as much as Cavani would have if we say gave him 150k pw 5 year deal.

I hope we give him say a 3 year deal so if everything does go wrong we won't have to wait aslong to get shot of him.

can you pay a fee of 40-50 millions for a player and then put him on a 3-year contract? that's just criminal

Sorry if it has been posted before

Rooney is banking on joining Chelsea, so United must decide whether he's worth fighting for... especially after paying him £3m since his last start

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2385395/ASH-WEDNESDAY-Wayne-Rooney-banking-joining-Chelsea-Manchester-United-decide-hes-worth-fighting-for.html

no way he want decline of Wages around 70k PW,,no chance. just give him 225K PW (same at United) for 3 years,,i think it's still enough...

if we buy the Roon for £40m on £200k+ wages and Arsenal gets Suárez for the same amount of money on about half them wages...I'll cry tears of sorrow, dive off the mountain cliff and turn into a golden eagle

laughing stock of the league

Dat comic sans

To give Rooney a 3 year deal, it makes no sense & Chelsea can not do it because of FFP rules. The amount must be spread out over longer term. If you chaps notice, all players are signed for 5 years, lately.

You'll die alone, can't think of a player I despise more. Seeing him run out at the bridge would fill me with self loathing, having to celebrate when he scored.... BAH!!!

I don't know if already is posted

Wayne Rooney eyes move abroad if Chelsea deal falls through

Chelsea are likely to come with a 3rd bid closer to £40m possibly too good to resist given Rooney is so transparently desperate to leave Manchester United.

Right this moment there isn't a lot of options abroad for Rooney IMO.

When was the last time Jose was so keen to get a player that he even declared it himself to the media and by the end of the story he didn't get him?????

To be fair he never went public regarding the transfer of a player as much as Rooney ever before. I think there was similar situation when Inter signed Quaresma but he wasn't really a super star and nobody else was interested in him at the time, at the end he also never worked out.

I can see him say things like ''he is an interesting player but we don't need him'' or ''he is not our so it is not for me to comment on''...etc but this time he came out from his first conferences to talk about Rooney. Ranging from advising him to do what makes him happy, saying it is Rooney or bust, that he is our only target...etc only makes Rooney feel more special and that he is appreciated here.

Also his shirts sell should be taken in to consideration, if we are going to pay £40m for Rooney and he help us sell around 1m shirts min at £60 each then that alone covers the whole transfer fee AND WE EVEN MAKE A PROFIT. Not to forget all his image right with Nike...etc which will bag us around £1m or a few. So basically he is paying the transfer fee for himself if he comes here eventually, we would only needs to pay his wages around £12m per year which isn't too bad for a world class player like him.
