I was thinking of starting it Tuesday week (March 22nd) if everyone agrees to that.

Also if it is going to start on that date we all need to agree soon on how the leagues will be done.

Probably best to start the league on a day nobody will be playing friendly's, tuesday is one of those days.

Although yea, i agree we should give people until the end of the week to sign up. It also gives people time to train & sign players.

March 22nd sounds good.

A couple of questions.

1. I did form training for a couple of players, if the first match is on the 22nd, will they loose form if they don't play till then?

2. I transfer listed a player, and if no one bids on him till the deadline, then what happens? Am I forced to sack the guy?

No. In fact friendly's are only good for teamwork values (which are important) & experience, they only have a minor effect on form.

....

Play friendlies to improve form, teamwork and experience

Iwe wrote: “There is a minor positive effect on the form for the players that play in the friendlies (…) There is one gain with playing friendlies though. You can use the friendlies to get your player's team work values to synchronize better. For each match the players play together their team work values will converge towards each other. Each player has a team work value and for the players to work best together their team work values should be as close to each other as possible. If you for example play Shearer on top with Owen he will work better together with Owen for each match they play together, but if your play Shearer together with another striker he will converge to that player instead. (…) By playing friendlies you may get the players to work better together and the team parts to work better together.”

DaveStone explained: “If you play the new player but not the one he will be playing with for the next season, the new player's teamwork value will move closer to the rest of the team he is playing with.” And Patyp said: “To simplify I think you should add new players to your squad one or two at a time so they are adjusting to your team not your team adjusting to them.” Friendlies give match experience as well, but only 10% of a regular match, thus 1-4% at most.

I'm going to change the league names to match the English football league, so it will be the Premier League, Championship, League One etc.

My idea for the leagues would be

(7-7-8) - Premier League as 7 teams. Championship as 7, All 8 new members in League One (Any other new members can be added to League One).

Shane had the idea of 2 leagues with 10 each, but we have 23 now.so we could some how make the Premier League 10 teams and then do 7 in Championship and 6 in League One, but it would mean adding new members to the Championship which wouldn't be fair on those in League One.

I think a few more people might sign up before it starts. So even if we only have one more person we can do 8 team in each league.

Agreed.

Yeah that sounds good as well, any idea on how to choose who would be added to the Championship though?

This is a tough one. The teams that state they want to play in the 2nd league, need to do so in this thread. And agree to a play-off friendly with another manager, who also wishes to play in that division. Or you could pick the two most active teams, since joining. Based on player signings, press releases and general activity.

Nice idea actually, we would have to do it through friendly, something like

1st Premier League Vs 2nd Championship

2nd Premier League Vs 1st Championship

Could be done over 2 legs then into the final. I'd like to get the leagues sorted first before we get into things like this though.

Elite make two signings

Shane Guihen has today confirmed that Real Elite have succesfully signed Mateus Mata and David Callans, Brother of star striker Daniel Callans.

Mata is a highly rated centre half, and Guihen was quick to follow up on his comments yesterday that they needed a defender. He signs on an Undisclosed fee. Guihen had this to say about his new aqusition

"Our scouts were very impressed with him, So I acted. He will go straight into the starting eleven, and I feel he fills all the qualities that we were looking for."

It will also be a family affair at Elite Park now as David has followed his brother Daniel in playing for Elite. The younger brother is also a striker, and Guihen believes the two can form a partnership upfront.

"They will have a great understanding of each others play. David, like Daniel is a natural born goalscorer and Daniel has high hopes for him."

Elite also confirmed they will be facing newly promoted "The Officials" in a preseason friendly on Saturday.
