Alexis Sanchez

There's a lot of info/talk on the wages, but how many years is he going to get?

He's 29, and due to the 1 year contracts for 30+, I'd say that we'd only be comfortable offering him a 2.5 year deal

So, with a 30M transfer fee, 10M agent payout and a salary of 350K/week.  Clubs amortize the up front fees over the length of the contract, so that would be 40/2.5 = 16 + 18.2 (350K/week), that's 34M/season, that's what goes on the books.  That doesn't include any signing on bonus to be paid to Sanchez, haven't seen that number floating around either.

Sandro, on the other hand, if he would cost 60M, he's 27 next week, so let's say we offered him a 4.5 year deal along the same lines as Sanchez regarding our 30+ policy.  Don't know about any agent fees, but even if we go with 10M like Sanchez, that would be 70M/4.5 = 15.5M, almost the same as Sanchez, but his wages would be far less than 350K a week.

Mahrez probably cheaper than that, Telles way cheaper than that.

I know it sounds overly Arsenal-y, but that's how the clubs look at it.  https://www.theguardian.com/football/the-set-pieces-blog/2016/aug/24/transfer-window-market-myths

Anyway, this is all moot, if we won't pay 1/2 of that for a position of need (LWB), there's no way we're going in for Sanchez.

RE: Sanchez - why do people even care if he's 29, and would be getting the wages that's being mentioned? Surely it's about improving the team no? Our job as Chelsea fans is to worry about what happens on the pitch. And as it stands, there are a lot of improvements that have to be made. Sanchez would be one hell of an improvement.

In fact, getting an Alexis Sanchez-esque type of player might actually encourage the likes of Hazard and Courtois to actually sign their extensions.

Whether we're actually in for him or not is irrelevant,  but I'm sorry, no-one can tell me that getting Sanchez would be a negative move given what we currently have at our disposal. And if you do, you're lying.

Ofc we are not gonna sigb him. And tge way he blows hot and cold, being a crying little bitch oon and off the pitch also makes me not want him that much. I think getting our wages policy put off for the 2 or 3 years he can still perform at the top is not worth it.i would mich rather have mahrez or bailey who are both goalscorers too and left footed

As much as I want Sanchez for any cost his wages demand are insane ... Got me thinking why dont we use this money and add a little more to get Sandro + Mahrez. The quality with Sanchez is undeniable but getting him is going to unbalance the wage structure specially when we have extension for Hazard and Thibo pending.

Fake...

Indeed. I didn't bother to check since it was on Calcio Mercato and I thought they're rather reliable.

Just had a look at Lukaku's instagram page and there's no such story.
