Swoopz 183
I dont see any reasons to not sign Rooney, to be honest. I think Torres might just be a rich man's RVP.

Kostas 1,468
I'll try assemble a list with some of my thoughts on them.Feel free to ignore.Wayne RooneyStrong and aggressive style of play, capable of running at defenders for 90 minutes. He's quite young(25).English and homegrown. Can play as a winger or behind the central striker. He doesn't get injured as often as Torres.Has only had one world class season as a striker.Has so far betrayed both Everton and ManUtd.Has been absolutely shit since the World Cup.His lifestyle is unhealthy. His price has probably dropped significantly after the recent events, has the option to buy-out his contract at the end of the season.Last season he scored 26 goals in 36 Premier League games, his minutes-per-goal ratio was 105.Fernando TorresTall, agile, fast with a great header and a technical shot.Slightly older than Rooney(26)Very injury prone,he's no RvP but misses much of the season due to injuries.Has declared his love for the Scousers numerous times, from his ynwa at Atletico to wearing a LFC scarf after winning the 2010 World Cup.Was woeful at the world cup and mediocre this season at Liverpool, injuries seem to have taken a toll on his pace."He's half a boy and half a girl...".Could cost 40£ to 80£ millions.Last season he scored 18 goals in 22 Premier League games, his minutes-per-goal ratio was
Wilson 358
They are two different kind of strikers reallly. Both amazing players with different style, personality, and abilities. But as long as both can find the net I'm happy lol. I think Rooney would fit in more because he's English ofcourse and he has a 'bad boy' reputation lol. LDN Blue 7,903
Rooney. He's a much better footballer than Torres when on form and he's English . But agree with BlueLion there, doubt we'll grab either.
Jose M 140
Wayne Rooney death threats: Angry Manchester United fans unfurl 'Join City & Die' banner outside wantaway star's home.Cheshire police confirmed that a group of men, some in balaclavas and hooded tops, gathered outside the house late in the evening. A banner bearing the words 'Join City & Die' was unfurled. The group buzzed repeatedly on the player's intercom. One man was overheard to say: 'We want to talk to you, Wayne. We want you to explain the real reason you want to leave. We're not going to hurt you.'The group - believed to be part of the notorious Men In Black firm.- were soon dispersed by police but Rooney is believed to have witnessed the commotion from an upstairs window, with his wife Coleen and baby son Kai also believed to have been inside the house.Rooney rang the police as well as alerting the club's private security firm CES.A police spokesman said: 'At 8.30pm, a call was received from a resident in Prestbury regarding 20 to 30 people assembling outside their address. Police attended the scene and the group dispersed peacefully.'The mob's leader, who refused to be identified, told The Sun: 'We don't believe what Rooney has said about his reasons for leaving the club. We want answers.'The club is struggling for moneybut it was struggling for money four months ago - so what's changed?'He has got himself in a mess in his private life and we understand if he wants to move abroad but the least we deserve is that he is honest with us. If he goes to City it is going to go off and he'll be seeing us again.'Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1322748/Wayne-Rooney-death-threat-Angry-fans-outside-home.html#ixzz134mB0fzSDoesnt look like Wayne has a choice lol he defiantly cant join city so we are the only other option unless he leaves England. Peace. 4,352
Rooney. He can play with Drogba, Torres can't. His transfert fee would be cheaper, i guess (even if his wage would be higer). In my opinion, Torres can't play anymore in England.Though... I would sign none of them. I would go for Alexandre Pato.
ZanSnake 1,211
Rooney, gives more options up-front, would benefit the whole homegrown ideal and he's an England International star who has years left in his career. But he would either join Madrid due to Coleen or join us, the latter seeming kind of unlikely when you think about the kind of stuff he has been up to. I think when he catches his form again, he will be back to the fierce warrior he can be.
Badboy 1,526
Torres is the better striker no doubt but he gets injured too much.

Swoopz 183
If this were the United of two or three years ago, Rooney would have been sent marching, humiliated. Instead, we kind of get to see just how much abuse United and Ferguson are willing to take when they have no choice whatsoever. They say no one man is bigger than a club. I think Rooneys made a good point against that.
