Italy-Serbia match has been suspended due to crowd trouble

20:28: Here's some news for you, and it isn't good. The start of the Italy-Serbia qualifier has been delayed because of Serbia fans throwing flares on to the pitch and lighting fireworks. The teams came out and began to line up for the national anthems but then were sent back into the changing rooms as police in riot gear came out to confront the fans.

2043: More bad news from Genoa where the match at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium between Italy and Serbia has been suspended because of the crowd trouble. Referee Craig Thomson has called a halt to proceedings after seven minutes

Ah okay, because I was going to refer to the Mikel Arteta for England senario but having re-read into that..

FIFA Statutes stipulate that the player needs to have held a British passport at the time when he represented Spain at the U16 European Championships

So I guess as long as Noble has an Irish passport, he'll be alright?

Noble was never going to have a chance in hell of getting in the England squad under Capello, so I can see why he would switch. A shame becuase he is the type of player England really needs.

Yeh he seemed confused about why Almuia was being linked to play with England that time so defintly cant see it

Drogba AND KALOU RETURN TO COBHAM

Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will not take part in Ivory Coast's friendly international in Poland tonight (Wednesday).

Both answered the call-up from their country, the first since the World Cup for Drogba, but having been seen by Ivory Coast medical staff in Paris he has been allowed to return to his club as he continues his recovery from the effects of malaria.

Kalou experienced administrative problems with documentation that would have delayed his entry into Poland so he too has been allowed to return to Chelsea.

The two players took part in training at Cobham today.
