Actually there are evidence that a man named Jesus did exist at that time. Whether he had superhuman abilities is something that is up for debate. Same with Muhammad, except he is seen only as an Islam missionary who claimed to have been following orders from God himself.

Jesus navas?

Jesus was made up to explain the unexplainable before science could.

Oh man, again people with no knowledge....

Jesus existed. That itself does not tell anything about the Bible or his miracles.

There is 100% certainty in the Academic Community that Jesus Christ was a real human beeing that lives 2k years ago. Whether he was Son of God, an Extraordinary Human Beeing or just a regular popular guy is for each one to belive in what they think is true.

A dude with long hair and a beard named Jesus existed? I can believe that. But it's also like saying a dude with short hair named Tom exsisted.

I personally am agnostic ( Stay out of the way of arguments whilst leaving some doubt in case i am wrong in not believing). Though tbh it just seems unlikely to me. Though obviously everyone has the right to believe what they want. In my personal opinion i think that being a moral person is more important than being a religious person, even though they often share similar characteristics.

Again, you just took the steriotype (?) and made your own conclusion. The beard and stuff is a regular Jewish look from many years ago. It is not like he was different (physical wise) than any other common person.

If you lived 2k years ago you could have easily passed by him and not noticing. It was that typical....

You are reading too much on the religious part. Take into consideration the fact that you are writing a book to tell the story about the world and for you Angelina Jolie has turned water into wine. A long time in the future your book turned out to be the most known book on Earth and scientists and archaeologists discovered that Angelina indeed existed and people at that time knew who she was, but cant verify if she made those extraodinary miracles....

Horrible example, but you get it.

I personally dont belive in the Bible and I dont care about your personal bliefs, but he did exist.

Actually we could write that she turned soft organs without bones stiff and hard. That could engage some amusing experiments and they would conclude that Jolie indeed was a witch (or maybe in future-modern language, bitch).

There is no absolute proof that Jesus existed. That is a fact.

There is mate, this has been prooven. Just go to a University, talk to a History Professor and he will tell the name of the right articles and the issue of Science you must read.

I saw some documentary a while back which said that none of the historians, who acted close to Jesus's alleged place, wrote about him. I don't know if it's true or not. But recently there was news that some scientist believes that Jesus had a wife according to some historical record.

That is a whole other discussion. But for them (experts) to start working on the possibility of him having a wife, they must be pretty sure he existed.

No worries though, KV said it was a fact that there is no absolute proof.

I think proven is a little strong. The evidence of Jesus' existence comes mostly from mentions by the historians Josephus and Tacitus but...both these writers were writing well after Jesus' life so it is possible that they were reporting reports rather than reporting fact. I'd say that it's extremely likely that someone named Jesus existed but not proven.

I get your point, but there are testaments of the same period naming Jesus. You are correct, If you would take extremely serious you can not make such statement.

People get caught up with the religious stuff, though. It is the same process that defines all the personalities from long ago (Kings, Pharaohs, Popes, etc). You would not be able to prove most of these people with this line of thought. Even though, we all study them in school and no one constest, it is just because his personality involves so many things. Putting all that aside, you just look for the facts (that is what experts do) and realise he did exist.

I don't know what to believe, but I'm happy people believe these sort of things, as it's changed really bad people into good people.

Sam Childers for instance, if anyone has seen the movie Machine Gun Preacher, he was once a badman, taking drugs, robbing drug deals, killed people supposedly. Now he's in Northern Sudan and Uganda building orphaniges and fighting Joseph Kony. He gave up a lot for those people, and that's because of what he believed in.

Can't say there's much proof to go on, and I'm not concerned if he exists or not to be honest, but I'm glad people believe it for that reason.

Yeah, I`m also thankful for that, but that is the religious part of the discussion, I`m on the scientif/historic aspect of it, though.
