SPECIAL OFFER
£69 OFF!
(Was £299) + FREE UK MAINLAND STANDARD DELIVERY

A 25 year old from Speyside's Benriach, made using their peated spirit and sat at the top end of the age range for their peated whisky. This is the follow-up to the much-vaunted Authenticus 21yo and is claimed by the producers to show herb, honey and tropical fruit flavours alongside the smoke.

Producer's Notes
APPEARANCE
Bright, warm amber gold.
NOSE
Elegant aromas of ripe pineapple, fresh mountain herbs and a profusion of sweet peat. A huge pungent blast of peat smoke emerges, partnering the peated element perfectly. Full bodied and audacious.
PALATE
A fantastic fusion of rich peat and smouldering embers bound together by fresh herbs - oregano, aniseed and chicory in particular. A rush of sweet, wild honey provides a lovely contrast to this lively, intense expression.
CONCLUSIONS
Terrific weight and development which leaves a powerful long lasting impression on the palate.

Pity the nation whose people are sheep,
and whose shepherds mislead them.
Pity the nation whose leaders are liars, whose sages are silenced,
and whose bigots haunt the airwaves.
Pity the nation that raises not its voice,
except to praise conquerors and acclaim the bully as hero
and aims to rule the world with force and by torture.
Pity the nation that knows no other language but its own
and no other culture but its own.
Pity the nation whose breath is money
and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed.
Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode
and their freedoms to be washed away.
My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty.”

An investigation into the death of Elijah McClain is bringing new evidence to light.

THE BACKGROUND.

In August of 2019, a 911 caller in Colorado reported a “suspicious person” in a ski mask apparently waving his arms. That person turned out to be Elijah McClain, a 23 year old Black man walking home from a convenience store and listening to music. It would later come out that he was wearing a ski mask due to his anemia, which made him cold. Three police officers confronted McClain, who “resisted contact.” A struggle followed, which led to an officer putting him into a carotid hold. In response, McClain said “I can’t breathe.” Not long after, paramedics arrived and injected McClain with ketamine, a powerful sedative. He went into cardiac arrest and died three days later.

THE HAPPENINGS.

No charges were brought against any of the police officers involved in McClain’s death, reportedly because prosecutors couldn’t prove they caused the death or used unjustified force. Enter: this independent investigation, which begs to differ.

THE DEETS.

The investigation says the police had absolutely no legal basis to stop or detain McClain, especially since he wasn’t doing anything wrong in the first place. It also puts blame on responding paramedics, who sedated McClain without conducting “anything more than a brief visual observation” and ended up giving McClain - who weighed 140 pounds - a dosage fit for a man weighing 190 pounds.

THE TAKE.

The findings are an important step in bringing justice for McClain. TBD.

@Milan Random question - do you like Vettel?

That is indeed very random haha. At first I did not like him particularly, but now he is in my top 3 in the current grid. I wish him success in Aston Martin.

What makes you ask that on this particular afternoon?

Views of the Super Flower Blood Moon and Its Eclipse

https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2021/05/views-of-the-super-flower-blood-moon-and-its-eclipse/619020/

Last night, sky watchers across the Pacific Rim were treated to views of the so-called super flower blood moon. “Flower moon” is the name for a full moon in May, “super” describes a full moon that occurs when the Earth and moon are closest together, and “blood” denotes the dark-red color seen during a lunar eclipse. The moon appeared about 10 percent larger than average—however, that size difference is actually so small that a casual observer would likely never notice. Photographers around the world sighted the bright moon, and those near the Pacific were able to capture images of the eclipse—the first total lunar eclipse in more than two years. Below are 18 of the most super images of the supermoon.

Scousers Gone Wild:

Samurai sword and axe attack' at Formby Beach 'straightener' - Liverpool Echo

  • Police presence on Victoria Road, home to millionaires and top footballers

A man was hit with a samurai sword and an axe during an arranged fight at Formby beach, it has been claimed.

The emergency services were called out to the site at around 7.20pm this evening following reports of an incident.

Police have this evening confirmed three men suffered stab wounds and had been taken to hospital via air ambulance.

A witness told the ECHO that a man was attacked with an axe and a samurai sword during an arranged fight at the National Trust site.

He said: "The lad who was losing the fight pulled out an axe and hit the other lad with it. His mate then pulled out a samurai sword and used that too. It was bad."

Huge crowds headed to Formby beach today on one of the warmest days of the year so far. A local man told the ECHO: "Police closed the beach. Everybody leaving had to give their details."
