So is their merit based on their style and their tag as best team, or is it based on effort? If its the former, then there is nothing more to discuss. If its the latter, I challenge you to explain how the Chelsea players fared poorly compared to the Spaniards.

One can base it on whatever one feels like it. Sometimes barcelona fans have nothing more to talk about than tiki taka, comparable to how we had more shots on target i believe, than they did in the last two games, and with far less possesion.

General Consensus is about mastery of the game, barcelona goes beyond the chelsea match, as i said before, im not all that into the who deserves to win semantics but overall, everyone will prefer barcelona's mastery compared to chelsea's anti football. in terms considerable in the context of their meetings.

I wouldn't say mastery. Any team that fluffs that many chances is undeserving of both victory and claim to mastery.

Not really. Ramires is a very effective winger because he puts a lot of pressure on the opposition because of his pace. It forces them to sit a little deeper, allowing us more possession, and his backtracking nature negates an opposition attacking threat in case they have a good attacking left back. Also you did say "think about success", which I interpreted as Ramires' at right winger will not be as successful as Hulk or Sturridge.

Some people on this forum have considered Ramires at right back. But I think except in extraordinary circumstances (like Barcelona 2nd leg), we would be wasting his potential if we play him there.

Also KOF, stop insulting him. I don't think he's seen enough Chelsea games to realise how important Ramires is to our team, so cut him some slack.

Nah, i mean when it comes to the playing of the football, the passes, the thought into it, the taking of chances is another factor, but not what i based my comment around.

In the end the team that scores more goals than the other wins, but for barcelona fans, they always win because no one surpasses their football in their eyes.

While Ramires may not be the best player in the world he is certainly a vital part of Chelsea and based on his performances in the last 18 months should not be replaced.

However,if you're genuinely interested in learning more about Chelsea (like you said in your first post here), you'd do good to know that there's no love affair between Chelsea and "anti-football". Granted they were defensive against Barca in 2009 and 2012, as well as against Bayern in the final, but they don't hold the record for most league goals in a season for nothing.

That was during a different time period, everything was different, you even mauled barcelona in a spectacular match at stamford bridge.

I never intended to call chelsea, an anti football center, thats merely how a big number of people see it, specially their performances against barcelona, everyone has had to play a little anti football against them.
