Slb1989 8
The difference between the Ramires of January from the Ramires of October is his own commitment to attack. We very rarely saw him going forward until around December time and the Tottenham away game - I genuinely believe he has found the confidence and belief to actually start attacking, which was something he was reluctant to do earlier in the season when played in a more disciplined defensive role. And with the return of Mikel, we could potentially be seeing a great player here. He reminds me of a refined Tiago; someone who is a very creative player, but unlike Tiago, Ramires also has the capacity to go forwards and be a genuine goal-threat, whilst Tiago was only really willing to commit forward when it was 2-0. Scored some great goals though!ramires is nothing like tiago. tiago have good technique but is lazy and dont have half of the speed of ramires. i dont have seen many chelsea games lately but in benfica he played as right miedfielder and he was like a right defende right midfilder and right winger at the same time lol. he can run all the game and is the first one to go down when the team loses the ball. Hopefully if Carlo changed the shape of the squad now, Ramires will get to play down the right primarily.
termninja 5,290
I just have to like his playing since he really leaves everything out there. He is really worthy of wearing a blue shirt. Also, with Alex and Luiz he'll be feeling even better now at the club.He surprised me though with his shooting capabilities, and I'm glad he finally got the self confidence needed to knock a few shots away from box. Shame about that post against Everton.
David23Luiz 9
I will always love Ramires as a player, but the way he left Benfica puts a sour taste in my mouth. I mean heres his first words when he signed with the club..."I just want to make history in Benfica. Be it for the 5 years in my contract or by appearing in every game and playing well, then I certainly I will make history here. We all know that in football you will receive good offers if you play well. I can always improve during my career and I don't plan to stay just one season at Benfica. I intend to stay here for 5 years, and who knows, maybe even renew later. Benfica is a great club that every player wants to represent. Whoever is here, needs to make the most of it. I just think I need to do my job and keep trying to get better. I am here to improve as a player and further my career. I had no intention on coming here and leaving the next day." Clearly he did not own up to those words
LDN Blue 7,903
But let's be fair, it's not like he handed in a transfer request.. We just made Benfica an offer they couldn't refuse eldo

Clearly he did not own up to those words Settle down, every player says that in those circumstances, but we all know the agents control those things. Plus, it was common knowledge at the time Benfica bought him there was a pre-arrangement with the agent that he would only stay 1-2 years at Benfica, why do you think they sold 50% back to the agent a few months before he was sold to Chelsea.Anyways, I loved him at Benfica and he did make some history there didn't he? He will definitely grow into his role at Chelsea and I see him being a fan favorite by this time next season. We haven't seen the best of him yet and we'll be very satisfied when we do. eldo

Ollie 4,400
What actually happened to him tho? He wasn't even on the bench against Liverpool and Sala (who's never been in the first team squad) was. After 30 seconds, Mikel was booked for being stupid again and he's treading on thin ice with 90 mins to go. Mystery....

Ollie 4,400
Gotta play him with Essien and Lamps. I've never been convinced with Essien and Mikel in the same team really. The energy to get up and down just aint there.
LDN Blue 7,903
Comparing Mikel and Ramires is stupid. They both play in different positions for starters and Mikel is much more important in the team. Ramires and Essien must battle for their positions, not Mikel and Ramires. eldo

LDN Blue 7,903
Ramires offers more to the team than Mikel does. Mikel is out of form, whereas Ramires is playing well and in great form.Mikel is a DM though. His role is to not go beyond the half way line (more or less), he's there to provide cover for Ashley Cole & Bosingwa when they bomb forward. Ramires is much more on the other half, his energy and enthusiasm is designed for the role we've got Essien in right now, attacking mid. Badboy 1,526
Ramires gets forward and he is another midfielder who wants to get into the penalty area. I think Mikel is a better player now but Ramires will make a bigger impact in an attacking sense, if we play with Ramires and Lampard then that automatically changes the opposing teams midfield strategy. Badboy 1,526
I think its been fantastic he really has come on. I have seen the Torres thread so i counter that thread with this one.
steve5221 91
His energy is fantastic, is all over the pitch. Reminds me of Essien a few years ago in some ways. Final ball is sometimes lacking but he deserves to be in the side ahead of Essien at the moment
Krypt 241
Its Great to see him coming good after the criticism he got earlier on in the season. he never seems to stop fighting for the ball and gives 100% great signing.
