Fulham Broadway 17,315
Lampards goal, Tevez offside -theres strong case for it. But where would it stop ? Every decision being contested in a game would add about half an hour to a match and disrupt the flow-actually Lineker had agood idea on MOTD that teams would only get 3 calls for a replay in a match, like in tennis. So you for or against ?The use of television has been a source of controversy in the sport, but I reckon it offers a fool-proof method for determining whether a team is good at football or whether it is simply a collection of absurdly over-compensated, second-rate commercial brands with ghastly, vulgar wives, locked in a sado-masochistic relationship with a cretinous media that merely reflects a society that has taken its natural intelligence, its sense of perspective and its values and violently drowned them all in a bucket of piss. Kostas 1,468
I'm sure it will benefit the sport.A 5th referee could get some 10 seconds to watch the incident in question and communicate with the main referee about what happened. The standard of refereeing (in Europe) is pretty bad and something should be done about it.Besides player acting like they've been shot every time their team wins usually waste 2 minutes of the game so a few seconds here and there to help the referee won't harm anyone. BlueLion. 21,491
What's there to lose? Blatter out, and get in someone with an ounce of backbone.
Ollie 4,400
Good or bad.....who knows? No-one will have the balls to bring it in. The goal line tech which was experimented a bit (not enough) a while ago worked successfully, why wasn't it used? Because Fifa don't want technology in football, pricks. They might think about that again. There are no problems at all. With offsides, let it go and if the ball goes in, the ball's then dead so the ref can look at the screen/moniter and decide like Tevez goal or Kalou's vs Blackburn a few seasons ago when Jose looked at the moniter. the ball's dead ffs it's in the goal, look at the video evidence! With Lampards example, the ref should stop the game when the ball is in the keepers hands, look at the replay and either give the goal and go from there or say it's not over, goalkeeper can play on. No excuses. I'm well for it, it's the biggest sport in the world and it needs help. Edited June 30, 2010 by OllieCFC
LDN Blue 7,903
It's worth the extra 30seconds to check. It should only be to see if the ball goes in the net or an offside goal, shouldn't be used for penalty appeals or anything like that. Ollie 4,400
Offsides and goal line appeals would be so easy. i just dont understand what the problem is. It dont matter how long the game stops as long as the 'right' result is made. The time added on wont be that much and there will only be like 2 or 3 of these decisions in each match. Offside iseven easier, the ball will already be dead as its in the goal, if he misses, just play on, it wont matter. Pisses me off so much. Drogba11CFC 108
But then how will Blatter be able to drop his steaming great logs all over English football?
Kez 2,727
Some form of technology needs to be introduced to make the sport fair it's ridiculous the amount of big decisions that ruin the game.It doesnt take a few seconds to confirm a goal in some way. Shane 2,275
Why not add two extra linesmen? Responsible for half of there own half, Would help with the offside goals and if the ball crossed the line or not because he wouldn't be as tired. Rubber bullets 1,183
Video technology will only come into place once Blatter and the old dinosaurs at Fifa are replaced... but that seems a long while from now.
Rambo 1,729
GOOD. They should have it like in American Football where there is someone upstairs that does the video replay and confirms with the refs on the pitch.

BlueLion. 21,491
We SHOULD have another official to the side of each goal like in the Europa League, and if even they can't call it THEN we should be using tv replays. It'll add about 60 seconds onto each game, most probably, possibly 3 minutes at most when there are a number of hugely controversial incidents. Laylabelle 9,535
Something need to be done its getting rediclous now. 'Oh look went in but goal given lets talk about it for hours after despite the fact it'll change nothing!!'..the fact as well they've dismissed the idea completly is a joke.So many times seen it happen and end of the day can cost teams in the long run etcEven as you say extra linesmen. That cant be that hard to do! Least then more eyes who might be looking the right way and not having to look at other things
