JT has been on the decline for a minute. But that's just how it goes, yesterday was just dumb play from Terry. I don't even think it lost the game for Chelsea. Yes the first goal was solely on Terry, but 1-0 down is a very winnable game going into the second half. If anything was shown to be completely useless yesterday it was something most have known for a while, Ferreira isn't/hasn't been Chelsea quality and Gareth Bale beating him like a rented mule for the 2nd goal yesterday just proved it. But to stay on topic, Terry isn't what Terry has been. And he most likely never be how great he was. But yesterday, to me, was more down to just dumb play rather than due to his diminishing skills.

I think JT has let his personal life affect his performance on the pitch. He needs to get his mind on the game and up his performance. I don't think it's just the "Bridge thing"... his parents drag him through the mud every chance they get too. Yes, he made mistakes and he's paid dearly for them... I think he thought he was "untouchable" before all that but I doubt he feels that way anymore, after all he did get the England captaincy stripped from him because of his extramarital hijinks and he most likely lost the respect of a lot of players... so he's probably got a lot of crap going on that none of us know about or honestly care to know about. However when he is on that pitch he needs to be in the game and 100% and I don't believe that he has been. Should we sell him??? NO, but he should have to sit out a few matches or at least be subbed when it is obvious he's not playing at his best. He is an awesome player who has lost focus, hopefully a few games out on a red, which he hates will be the kick in the butt he needs. I'll start saying my prayers that it is.

he has been a disgrace since the wayne bridge story and no doubt it has effected the team. If we had sold him to city everyone would have been calling it a genius move by carlo, considering what would have happend at city.

JT will never be the player he was in 04/05 when he was untouchable. I do think he has gotten too comfortable as captain and his place in the team. I really think Lamps should be given the captaincy and JT should earn his place back.

More than Liability you cant deny the fact that his exploits off the field have hurt us this season. Games against Inter, Everton, Man City and now Spurs. 4 games in a season where he has had a HUGE ROLE to play in our defeats. And thats not good for a plyer who earns 150k a week.

A poor performance, ok a very poor performance still does not make the club captain a liability. Yes he had a rough patch after the Bridge scandal but in recent weeks the man has been a brick at the heart of the defence, he has been in stunning form. Terry has set his standards so high and our expectations so high that when he fails to live up to them (like against Spurs) its instantly recognisable. Despite his poor performance, Terry is a genuinely top notch centre back and arguably the greatest captain Chelsea have seen in quite some years. Far from a liability, he is one of our greatest assets.

I'm not JT's biggest fan. I think he trys to play the role of manager too often, He got to cocky, He thought he was brilliant. A centre back in the summer is a must IMO, Someone to challenge both of them for there place. Yesterday he was poor, Both for alot of games this season he has been poor. The whole Bridge scandel has got to him, Which it shouldn't, When Lampard's story was broke he did not let it affect him at all because he is a professional and should be captain. I also question should Terry be at the club next season after his poor performances and the whole Bridge thing. I mean, Do we want a player that sleeps with team mates wifes at the club? and tbh I don't think he'll start for England at the world cup either.

But, he has his chance to put it all right. Fernando Torres is two weeks time.

He's having a bad run of games I'll give you that, but overall he's the best CB we have. Alex and Carvalho are good but its the other things that JT brings to hte team that makes him hard to replace. His organisation and ability to read the game is second to none.

You dont get voted the best defender in europe for 5 years running by being a liability.

He's had a tough time of late. constant media stories about his private life and his family. Stripped of the England captaincy, snubbed by Bridge with that non handshake, etc....of course its going to effect him. He's only human afterall.

Stripping him of the Chelsea captaincy will only add to the problems and not resolve them. Hopefully once we get this season out of the way and everything will have passed he can get his head back where it should and show why he's reguarded as one of the best defenders in the world.

I really hope this is just a dip in form, and that he is back to his best ASAP. Stripping him of the captaincy wont help, dropping him wont help either. All he needs is to have a little word with himself, sit out the Stoke game and re-charge his batteries.
