Rowan_Osborn 58
So we've played against two good sides so far, City and Atletico, and have been horribly exposed in both games. We were only really exposed against city when down to ten men, before that we defended well. Tonight was poor however, no excuses.

DDA 9,938
RDM was never the man for this job. If he hadn't of won the CL then he would be looking through the local messenger for a new job. He's only here because Pep said no to Roman, as soon as Pep's ready he will be taking the most ruthless job in club football. Got to feel for Robbie because he is such a classy and nice guy but when it comes to managing against the big clubs he just doesn't know how to dominate them and before anyone says 'he achieved a CL and FA.Cup last season' let's not forget the incredibly large amount of luck we got on the way to winning those trophies and the style of football we played. Whatever happens Roman want's exciting, attacking football which is clearly what RDM is trying to achieve but can RDM achieve the balance!? I'm not convinced! Rowan_Osborn 58
I don't think Di Matteo is the right man for the job, I never did.In my opinion his tactics have been good up until this game. However the board clearly did not see him as first choice given how long they took to appoint him. I hope he succeeds as he has done well for the club as a player and manager. Today was exceptionally bad, but you can't blame RDM for a poor team performance, however he did little to effect the game and i don't understand why he only brought sturidge on with 5mins to go; if you need a goal put your strikers on. However ever year a team will suffer a bad defeat, hopefully this is our only one and if so I'm glad it came in what is basically a pointless game. I'm not convinced!RDM got his tactics wrong today, but if you consider that he is still learning as a manager perhaps this will help him to improve. Having said that, I don't know if I am happy having a manager who is developing at the club, although if you consider SAF won nothing in his first year at united and many wanted him sacked and look at him now. Perhaps keeping RDM in the job will improve our consistency and we can build a legacy like that at united. We've got the resources to do so, but this constant changing is effecting the club. Added to this RDM has won his first three BPL games, so we shouldn't be so quick to judge him.

Henrique 9,133
RDM first big test will be against Juventus, in the opening game of UCL.Bad peformance against them and I will start to worry about his skills.

A lot of fans i sit in the stands with and travel with to games have been doubting the decision to keep RDM on this season from the very moment he penned the contract. I said from the start that we are forever indebted to Robbie for bringing us that holy grail but I don't think he is the man to bring us sexy, attacking football that can challange for the major trophies. I'm going to stick by my guns and pray to God that he proves me wrong because he is too fucking cool for school and i DO want him to succeed here! I think this is all a waste of time and money. Winnings is what matters. Winning is sexy. (Was anyone ever bored when we were winning under Mourinho and Ancelotti? Were you bored when we won the CL last year?)

That team was sexy, and was a winning team.

RDM has got the players he wants now and I can see us being as good as 06 or 10 with or without playing flamboyant passing style

It's not how we win that bothers me or other fans because in the end of the day when all has been said and done like you said, winning is all that matters. Who it does seem to bother though is the man who has given us these glamorous years with such enormous investment and it would be preposterous for any Chelsea fan to question Romans motives. If Roman want's sexy football, then that is what the man wants, weather it can be done or not. There is no denying that he has quite publicly stated his desires and RDM will have to come up with the goods or he will be out. It's early doors and there is time for him to prove that he can transform this club into a fluid, attacking force but let's not forget how ruthless Roman is. Tempus Fugit.... And it most certainly will for RDM if he doesn't get it right.

The talk is he likes offensive football. This is the first time I read that Roman wants a "high tempo passing style game". It seems we have Romans close advisors here. FormerRussianSpy 163
I don't know how much of the blame can be put on Robbie. With essentially the 4231, our back five have been completely static and our front three are completely dependent on one or two players having excellent games. If they all have shit games, like what happened today, the system completely falls apart and no amount of tactical genius can rectify that.I'm mainly just pissed at how falcao whipped us with his dick, not really the tactical shortcoming of our coach... who by the way pioneered one of the greatest cup runs in club history. Drogba, Malouda, Anelka, Lampard, even Kalou, were all tucking away pretty much every chance we got (aside from the FA Cup final where all of those players decided it would be fun to act like Mario Gomez for a game). It wasn't because we were playing any better attacking football, it came down to individual excellence, which has been lacking ever since then.
