Joe Cole, out since January with cruciate knee ligament damage suffered in an FA Cup tie against Southend United, finally looks to make his first team return this week.

In the last year of his Stamford Bridge contract, Cole will be eager to impress new boss Carlo Ancelotti in hopes of earning himself a few more years in west London.

The former West Ham United player has not played in a competitive competition since his injury, and will hope to work his way back into first team plans in time for the World Cup in South Africa 2010, as England look set to book their tickets to the competition imminently.

Cole will be joined in training by fellow injury casualty Paulo Ferreira.

"Joe's been training with the reserves this week," Ancelotti told Sky Sports."He is due to train with the first-team from Tuesday onwards, as is Paulo Ferreira."

Absolutely, having Joe Cole and Zhirkov in a diamond with Lampard and Essien would be something i would very much like to see.....
