This ODI series is just something else. Some of the best batting I've ever seen.

Remarkable isn't it!!

Eoin Morgan... Take a bow pal.

A place in the Ashes perhaps? Bell is on borrowed time for me. Ballance, Morgan, Root, Stokes, Buttler. Sounds good to me.

I'm not sure about a Test call up as, IMO, he is a one-day and T20 specialist. Still not convinced by him in four/five day cricket.

Who would you pick?

Now the NZ series has finished, it brings us nicely to that question.

IMO Bell needs to be dropped. We cannot carry a player during an Ashes series. Whether we play Morgan at 4 or move Root up to 4 and play a Bairstow at 5. Having said that, I wouldn't really like to tinker with Root's position. Also the other burning question for me is whether to keep with Moeen? What are the other viable options? Rashid? Not as good with the bat and not any better than Moeen with the ball IMO. I'd be tempted to keep Moeen.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Cook, Lyth, Ballance, Taylor, Root, Buttler (wk), Moeen, Stokes, Broad, Anderson, Wood

Moeen keeps Rashid and Tredwell out of the side based on his batting prowess. I'm biased as a Notts fan in saying Taylor as he is in absolutely no form whatsoever at the minute - but he definitely worth a shot.

And you changed your mind about Morgan.

FFS I completely fucked up and put Morgan instead of Root, which is mental because Root is by far my favourite cricketer

Would be shocked if Bell is shocked for the first test, but his place could be under threat towards the end of the series.

And Mooen over Rashid still for me.

Root and Smith should be brilliant to watch all summer long.

Unfortunately, I've not been able to follow the Ashes closely this year, but man what a 1st day for Australia. 337/1!

Don't tell me that England are gonna play 4 Tests in a row with ridiculously flat pitches so England can draw all four and win 1-0 :P

(Don't know anything about the state of the game just the score lol, so don't ban me for joking!!!!)

England have asked for flattish pitches to nullify the Australian quicks, most obviously, but this is a corporate wicket at Lord's. They want it to be a five-day bore draw. Can see Australia getting past 500, declaring, then England batting out for three days

Well let's hope we can bat it out Alex with England you never know. Yesterday reminded me of the West Indies team of the 80's Haynes and Greenidge batting all day never looking remotely concerned about the English bowling.

Just seems a shocker of the pitch. Cardiff wasn't a bad pitch, IMO, there was enough for the bowlers as England demonstrated. But this one is abysmal. A shocking pitch at the home of cricket.
