Chelsea 2-1 West Ham

We got very, VERY confused when we were getting nice results and performances. It was an anomaly. Because clearly, Maresca has no clue. Sanchez, Madueke and Jackson are not the way forward. And enough is enough.

Maresca OUT.

Yes, at least one... He looks like a pen waiting to happen in the box, and he is a consistently poor decision maker under pressure.

Sanchez hit a particularly dreadful run of form recently but before that Colwill was the number 1 cause of my high blood pressure during our games, even with Sanchez on the pitch.

and he is constantly moaning to refs, can't stand him at the moment to be honest.

Veiga deserved a chance. Colwill should probably be tried in midfield. He has a great on the ball ability, but can’t defend well enough…

yes, Veiga is a left footer

could have slotted in at LCB

Never felt more depressed about this club than i do now and we have been through some absolute shit. There was always at least the hope we would buy big important players in the transfer windows but we dont even do that now. These fucking owners are complete cunts. I want them out and wont change my mind until they are gone.

We have all these wingers who are simultaneously out of form and offering nothing, we’ve got a striker who constantly fluffs his lines and fucks up the most basic things, and we’ve got defenders who make catastrophic errors EVERY match that directly lead to awful goals.

And when even Palmer is out of form you know we’re totally fucked.

I really don’t know what we can do to turn this around. It’s not like our levels have dropped due to a bunch of injuries. Every attacker is fit and they have had this long mini break since our last match and yet they still walk around like zombies who played 90 minutes 2 days ago.

Despite everything, I disagree about Maresca. Have not agreed with all his decisions but you have to put responsibility on someone other than the manager at a certain point - the Directors who assembled the squad, the players who fail to deliver, the owners who orchestrated it all. Maresca could have done better, sure, but I think he is the least of the problems here and still the best manager we've had since Tuchel.

We don't have a single player who looks like they know how to score a goal - same old Chelsea. Cole's super clinicalness when in form papered that crack nicely and maybe I underestimated how far short we were in the rest of the squad - as when he was scoring, it was so much easier for the rest to play well, it seems. They all played under far less pressure.

In truth we did create several reasonable chances in that half but didn't even look close to converting any of them.

left footed CBs

Alessandro Bastoni  (insanely hard pull)
Murillo
Piero Hincapié
Dean Huijsen (ambipedal)

Castello Lukeba (injured atm)
Gonçalo Inácio
Dávid Hancko
Jorrel Hato (can play LB as well)
Yarek Gasiorowski   (youth)

Probably also the fact that teams are now looking to drop off our other attackers and focus on marking Palmer, keeping him away from the box where possible.

It's a shame but top 4 is well and truly gone, and if Potter does beat us at the Bridge, leaves plenty of question marks for Maresca's future.

You’re right about Palmer and him giving the rest of the team a lift but I don’t know how we can explain the energy levels and the incision of our team going completely out the window. Why everyone is just walking around slowly looking clueless.

It looks like we haven’t worked on anything in training all week, ffs.

Maresca😡

Guess its just me that doesn't think this is Maresca's fault then!

I don't think there is really that much he could do differently. He was too patient with Sanchez, and he's become less flexible with his tactics and his subs as the season as gone on - seemingly as he's lost faith in some of the rest of the squad.

But our foundational issues can 100% be blamed on the directors that assembled the squad and the owners who created the strategy they're trying to execute.

So far, it simply doesn't work and they've wasted a LOT of money.

True, perhaps clubs just take Cole more seriously now

i don't think top 4 is gone! We can still get a result from this game, but even if we don't it is not gone - not because we are that good, but because the other teams are also incredibly inconsistent and there's plenty of games left.
