Gusto experiment in this advanced position should be over at halftime. He’s not good enough using the ball in those advanced positions. Reece would be destroying United in these exact same positions.

Let Cucu play the withdrawn, defensive role that Reece is currently playing and put Reece where Gusto is.

Both Caicedo and Lavia are dominating in midfield, btw. The attackers are getting the ball between the lines well but haven’t been sharp enough.

Yes. Agreed.
 

However Reece’s injury concerns definitely has a factor in that. Even so, Cucu’s intensity, decision making and all round play is  superior to Gusto,  even though Gusto is the better footballer talentwise. He has just not settled in the premier league yet.

Thought Lavia was pretty poor actually.

for me Caicedo is the one doing all the work there. It’s prob best I seen him play.

While I would like to see Cucurella slot into the LB position and let James bomb forward at RB, I doubt we'll see that happen. 

More likely Maresca will try to preserve James fitness and sub him off later in the game.

Good thing is we won't necessarily have to bring in a Disasi to play as full back.

Game is finely balanced.  Doesn't feel like it will take too much extra for either side to score. Chelsea should remain switched on in the final 3rd. The through balls played through the center have been decent.

Aside from Palmer, we've hardly offered any threat despite United being there for a taking.

We must score soon or a chance similar to Rashford's will fall to them again, and we all know the rest.
