Chelsea 2-4 Man City

People will criticise him but it took Sarri until the home match against Arsenal before the team finally looked better on the defensive end. Of course there was the 0-6 bashing to City but the team still finished the season with the 3rd best defence and this was with Kepa in goal.

Pep in his first season when the media were starting to turn against him for insisting to stick to his method and let the team learn how to play out from the back

Some fans would abandon it after 25 minutes 😅

City are not always pressed when they play out from the back.
The way it was done yesterday caused situations Kepa ++, Mendy +++.
But it was not only when playing from the back.
Everything is out of place, we concede tap ins.
Anyway with Thiago gone I 'm not sure this backline can play any system.

lol - pep had the chance to sign 2 world class players in each position and find out which one worked then used them - we sign 18 year olds for 8 years who will properly not make it

My only concern is that Sarri was working with much better quality at center back., and the back line in general.

Maresca doesn't have those options. James, Fofana and Chillwell are returning from season ending injuries, Badiashile, Disasi & Tosin don't look convincing., and Colwill has been underwhelming so far.

I hope a decision is made to bring in at least one quality CB option before the transfer window ends, but so far it looks like no real interest.

Even if it's a question of players adapting to Maresca’s system, there are just some things you can't overlook. Like the poor performance in 1v1s.

Watched the first ten minutes and turned it off, it was actually cringe worthy and like watching a grass roots side.

Looked like little children out there, City just went through the motions. Madrid next, that should be fun
