Chelsea 2-4 Man City

Real Madrid next.. If we defend like this we can easily concede 4 again.

Few positives after Today.. Lavia is promising, Noni is good clutch, Sterling - as much hate he gets - still good.

Enzo, Mudryk, Adarabioyo, Colvill were absolutely underwhelming.

Too many mistakes in the build up play

Highly recomend not to play like this on our opening fixture unless we want to be humiliated

Good performance all things considered.

Enzo tried some stuff today fitting certain players where they don't go - and we pretty much handed every City goal to them on a plate. All mistakes rather than anything special from them.

Was wondering if anyone was going to say it... Very, very poor.

I said to someone at a game last season, can't remember which one, that I doubted if Levi would be selected with everyone fit.

Well, how about now? Who should be selected when everyone fit? Badiashile, Disasi, Adarabioyo, Levi, Fofana.. Two weeks later we will face City in a competitive game and at least two of them should start but nobody seems to be confident & in form.

Sanchez and all those awful defenders don’t become worldclass overnight when preseason ends.  The individual performances are worrying, the quality just is not there, does not matter if it’s preseason or mid April. They are just not good enough

Only the season can tell whether marescaball will work for us  (spoiler alert: it won’t) but starting the season with the current group of gks and cbs puts us at a sizeable disadvantage

Except KDH added in central midfield, the owners have not addressed any of our issues in this window.

Same conversation as April/May. Need CB, striker

For the life of me, I just dont get what all the hype is about when it comes to Colwill.

21yo CBs rarely reach their peak this early; all we got now is potential and good performances here and there. This is specially true for certain positions, like CB and Goalie.

I'm sure someone will come up with a list of a 18yo CBs doing well, but the keyword here is "rarely."

I do see both potential and good performances from him, btw

I think he's a really good CB who's not had a consistent run in his best position - LCB. His development is affected by playing LB so often

One of the things about losses is that suddenly everyone splurges all of their biases out and says "I told you so" using it to affirm whatever objection they have, whether it be that certain players are shit, the owners are shit, Maresca is shit, or the directors are shit, passing it out from the back is shit, not letting our fullbacks bomb forward is shit, or whatever... to some it will be final proof we should never have sold Mason Mount.

Find it all quite exhausting tbh, toxic and kind of sad. Apparently, neither manager nor players are allowed to make mistakes (even in preseason): straight to the gallows for em. A bunch of people are even now after Caicedo, saying because he made a mistake and didn't play at his best in his first pre season game that he is finished, was never good enough, and of course they've been saying it all along: "I TOLD YOU HE'S SHIT".

Also, everyone who screams we should not play it out from the back, what exactly do you want us to do instead?

We didn't even know Maresca to say that he is sh*t !
He just proves himself to be so.
He has twelve days (12) to change his team from Isthmian league team to EPL team.
